ops my gf just walked in and i was dancing like crazy. Ok im 32 and should know better but my god this tunes just brilliant. \\o o// \\o \\o \\o o// !!!
Sometime back in the early to mid 1980's at the height of my record-collecting mania, I found the record (Aertaun 103) in a thrift shop. Unfortunately it wasn't in very good shape. Been wishing I could hear that song in un-scratchy form ever since....
@bennyvx08 I think you're wrong; The Tornados was a famous instrumental band that recorded a very famous instrumental track (among others) called Telstar, and definitely they weren't The Tornadoes
greasyfairlane....i was just kidding! I love that song and i'm sure they know how it goes without a chart!! Sorry if i offended you...but thanks for the review of our music!! ("cheap '80s sounding "surf". Ever heard of reverb? Try turning it past 1") that's classic!!
It just bothers me when people that are really good at something, put people that aren't so good or just starting out, down. Now if they are talking smack then by all means slam 'em. But that could've been some 13 year old kid just picking up the guitar for the first time. P.S. yes I suck at the guitar, but I try.
One of the proudest moments of my life was when Granada High School had chosen "Bustin Surfboards" as their number one for KFWB's weekly top 10 at the LA high schools. This was the fall of 1962. I thought "Bustin' Surfboards" was the "bossest" song ever recorded (except for Dick Dale of course...). This proved the high standards and wisdom the "Granada Crew" became known for in surfing Malibu and Rincon - the two best pointbreaks in California. God bless you all and keep surfing until you drop!!
Not every one as is talented as you, some people need help. Now go back to your garage and play your cheap '80s sounding "surf". Ever heard of reverb? Try turning it past 1.
I love Surf Rock! The Tornadoes, The Ventures, Dick Dale... The smell of the ocean and surfboard wax, the sound of the waves crashing. Man, now I WANT TO GO SURFING!!!
To the Tornadoes: I first heard this song at my dad's house when I was about 15. At that time, I had so many records I used to listen to. Listening to music was all I did for what seemed like years. Now, this is one of the few remaining songs (of not even 10 total) that I still listen to. My friend and I used this song briefly in a video he posted on this YouTube account. Do you mind? Watch it.

Good tune, but "Telstar" was still my favorite of theirs. Thought about that one on the 40th anniversary of the moon landing.

But that was recorded by the English group of the same name!

you're talking about the "tornados." the video on this page is by the "tornadoes" with an "e."
i know, it's a bit confusing when they have such similar names.

No need to have many tom toms when you've got such a basic drumming style. A snare, bassdrum and hi-hat would have been far enough!...
