I like the 1AA battery mod, but im unsure of how it can supply power up to 5v's.
My assumption is that the "Boost converter" you spoke of is sort of like a joule thief.
& would that be fed through a regulator (even tho arduino has a built in reg) prior to connection of the Arduino?
I'm also concerned with using 9v batteries because of the heat dissipation.(over heating the regulator). I notice that my Arduino Duemilanove is not fitted with an heat sink on its regulator.
