  • I do not like ramey s' don, Siepi or Allen are much better, but furlanetto and the others are great.

  • You should see the one in the Royal opera House, it is better than this one.

  • @Lapteno

I am unable to link it.

  • 4:04-5:10 Amazing chromatic technique on display. 3 chromatic vocal passages, followed by a fourth played musically and picked up on the apex by the sopranos. Chromatic sections that begin with Don Giovanni & Leporello taking the scale to the apex, and descend with the vocals of the accusers. The anger of the accusers builds, Don Giovanni and Leporello's tone has shifted from confused to worried.

    .

  • 3:49 - 4:03 The righteous conviction of the accusers trades back and forth with the seesaw and confused tone and music of Don Giovanni and Leporello as they are caught off guard and are on the defensive.

  • @devilxhlywood i love that part, i sing it every day!(i sing giovanni).

  • tutto tutto gia si sa... i love how mozart writes that part.. so vindicitive lol

  • I love Samuel Ramey's voice but although many find him to have sex appeal, I find that Thomas Allen and Thomas Hampson's Don Giovanni, especially Hampson, were far more sexy!

  • Dear friend elias, where can I buy this DVD ??

  • the last three minutes of this is the most ridiculous staging i've ever seen. completely unmotivated. no tension or conflict. BORING. excellent singing though. one of my favorite moments in mozart opera.

  • Why doesn't Zerlina just say she doesn't want to dance?

  • immortal !

  • Ferruccio Furlanetto has nice legs...;)

  • What a hilarious scene, at least the first part. The only names I know in opera are the ones that were still the 'classics' in the late '90's - Ramey, Upshaw, Te Kanawa. . Who are these new people?

  • That first part, it seems that the orchestra has the tune and the singers were given what might have been the base, only transposed to suit them respectively. One of my long time favorites. I used to play it on the piano by ear. Only I didn't know what work it was from. (By now I know) (5*)

  • If I was one of the angry crowd there I might just have let him be on his way if he hadn't tried to blame everything on his servant. Poor Leporello has been so faithful.

  • I love "che cosa fate?" It's like, "what the hell, man?"

  • @KatherineXIX where?

  • What else could the poor wretch expect from his master, who has already betrayed a man that considered him his friend (not to mention numerous women)?

  • Precious video for generations to come. The CD of this should be made available in developing countries.

  • @Dogaradodia "sorry we exploited every natural resource you have while you starved solely because you're a different skin tone than us, but check out this bitchin music we made!"

  • Thank you very much for this!!!! I love the final!!!

  • Thanks for sharing this wonderful production! Hope it gets miles of views, it's really great. And you were right of course, I do like Ramey in this!

  • I wonder who doesn't. :)
