WVNY has had its ups and downs. When it began broadcasting in August 1968 it was the first station in the Burlington-Plattsburgh market with local live color. UHF receiving aerials sprang from rooftops like mushrooms across southern Quebec in late 1968 and 1969. But by the summer of 1970 the station was up for sale and its "Movies Through The Night" were no more. It changed its calls to WEZF for a while before reverting to WVNY.
It's also the same music they use on WXYZ ABC 7 in Detroit.
Yep, they got rid of news on Channel 50 (now the CW) when they lost FOX to Channel 2. Channel 62 never had news, even when it became CBS when CBS got bumped from 2 to take on Fox. Can't imagine a CBS affiliate not having news, but that's the case in Detroit.
Talentated? Seriously?

Too bad the Fox news is terrible. Doesn't come close to this 22 News.

This station is now using a news feed from FOX 44?? Still an ABC affiliate, but FOX news is now bringing the daily happenings of VT.
bradleyikb5 3 years ago
Yes, the Fox 44 news at 7pm on ABC-22.
They still do not air a 11pm newscast. Instead, Sex in the City leads the audience towards Nightline.

@bradleyikb5 it's not a "news feed" you clown

So sad to see a station go under.

The newscast didn't flop... The ownership did. They overpaid for the station, had no money and took a bath when they sold.

Sure does of "Eyewitness News".

The graphics and "ABC 22" logo looks similar to WJRT's ABC12.
