  • how come he misses out some variations?

  • Just to clear some things up: this is a viola that happens to have 5 strings on it (yes, they do exist); some violas have a strange upper bout to make it more resonant. As for the tone, it's odd only because it's muted with a rather heavy mute. There is nothing at all strange about this man's viola or how it sounds.

  • wtf is he playing? i know it's some type of viola...but what's up with it's left side of the upper body

  • i think an arpegionne not sure though .however you spell it, haha

  • Does anyone know what the name of this violist is?

  • Jean Paul Minali Bella

  • Thanks!!

  • Is that a Sabatier viola?

  • merci

  • I have heard some music by Britten before, but this piece! It`s beautiful!

  • aww it doesnt finish

  • That is an interesting looking viola...

  • I don't think that's a viola at all... from the description box, it appears to be an "arpegina" -- not something I've ever heard of before. Notice that this instrument has 5 strings and a distinctly different tone from a normal viola.

  • arpegina, is the username of the person who posted it.

  • I love this peice- thank you for posting on the UTUBE
