  • Namaste:

You read very well. Your elocution is good, your intonation and cadence make the text interesting. You read it as someone who understands it.

    Thank you.

  • Very nice wisdom you share with us, Reece. Thanks

  • Thank you.

  • Y is every copy of the tao te ching different? Im 13 and i have three copies of it, the mystery one my favorite, but each different which one did lao tzu actually say?!

  • Thank you!

  • hahaha do u know wat it means Reece have u experienced what Lao Tzu is saying it is a no. u are simply a parrot u know how i know cause u would not be reading from the book u in fact u would not be talking at all your own Religion will take birth if u know wat ur saying all the so called holy books are the ways how they reached to the ultimate & u will never know what it is untill "you" Reach it u will not understand it untill u reach it the whole art is how to Drop the mind !!

  • @vishnu212 i've always thought i would never comment on these type of comments...where people are trying to tell other people what they know and dont, and how they are superior. I am as guilty for commenting... I just have to say..... Maybe he knows maybe he doesnt.... whats the differnece? i've read this book for many years and hold it very dear to me. I would like to think it was my secret, but like every one else, i am not lao tzu, and i had to read it. I already regret responding.

  • @presziggy u & i are in the same boat dnt worry its the Ego u cant do anything other than watching

  • @vishnu212 thanks

  • @presziggy

You say, "I am not Lao-Tsu", but I must say that your sincerity touched me. I can tell you love the Tao, and I do too. The Tao is within You. The only difference between Lao-Tsu and the ordinary person is that he lived its Truth. Most are taken by its words, that's it. Don't concern yourself over what others say, embrace your emptiness (poem 20). Read poems 70 and 67. The reason people miss the boat is that they want the Tao, but they also want their attachments. Be empty.

  • When Lao Tzu wrote The Tao Te Ching the first word he wrote is that the "Tao that can be said is not the real tao at all" the Truth that is said becomes untrue immediately ............

  • "The hard and great go under, whilst the soft and weak stay up". This resonates with me completely.

Thank you for this Reece. This is another lecture I'd love to add to my library.

    Namaste

  • Reece, please make more videos I need your knowledge you know so much just make more you have sooo much to share so do it before it's too late.

  • @DalueCommentarys A Wizard is never early or late; he arrives precisely when he means to.

I have even more respect for you now then ever before buddy!!

  • My Guru once said to me that in order to be at one with all that is, I must let go, and become as a baby child. So I shat my pants...

I thought it was amazing how the sun was shining - it looked like it was coming out of the top of your head.

  • Im not following what your reading. Is it a bible? Is it just a philosopher? Sorry if that sounds dumb just not sure

  • What version or trasnlation is this i like this one, I have the John c wu version. I like yours better.

  • wooooow i'm in awe, that was..awwwesome

  • alrights its been a month and this is it, wtf some teaching of an ancient philosipher named lao-tse who emphasize harmony with nature, post somthing that people need to know for goodness sakes

  • "The one softest thing in 3d reality, air. The eternal medium in which we all move. Allot of hat book sounded like it was reading my mind. A good sign I would say. Thank you brother Reece

  • "hard and stiff"

    -giggle-

  • Really makes me wish I read it in the original script or have a bit of insite into the translation.

  • The stillness made me feel very calm and loved. :)

  • I just started this book! Synchronicity never ceases to amaze.

  • reece, i think it'd be a great idea if you made a whole video series about meditation to get more people into it:)

  • Beautiful readings-I love how the blurry light of the sun peeks through the trees as you read.

    Such wisdom, such beauty.

    5/5

  • very moving, thank you! I love watching your videos they always seem to make me feel content and peaceful, thanks again!

  • Wonderful poem. Wish I had that magical spark about me like you have about you. I want to make my own videos but I always feel silly and I know I have some deep and meaningful things to share but never know how to put what I want to say across

  • @frankylovesyall

    :)

    +1

  • @gegebird

Definitely. I agree. That's one of my favourite lines too :) And yes, I love how inferences aren't restricted. The whole of the Tao Te Ching can be taken on so many different levels.

  • Whoohoo! PARTY in the forest! Beautiful, Reece.

  • This was absolutely incredible, like finding an oasis, thank you Reece.

I realized that the part when it encourages to be "soft" rather than "strong" is featured on the 1978 russian movie "Stalker", by Andrei Tarkovsky, a deep, philosophical movie that i recommend to all of you.

    Thanks again.

  • "The path that can be regarded as a path is not the great eternal Path."

    namaste brother

  • serenity now,if truth is comedy, would you read this at an open mic night, infront of a bunch of drunks? that sounds great but whose going to feed the forests floor

  • @XoXMyuXoX

Glad you enjoyed :) The book is the Tao Te Ching, and it's the Ursula K. Le Guin translation.

  • yay reece your so awesome, inspirational stuff mate

  • @eddyotube

    Thank you :)

  • "I've been meaning to not mean anything for once"

  • You've gotten me to buy Don Juan's book of sexual energy xP And I love your video's, keep it up! I'm just wondering why you chose the poster behind your bed of the "Left eye" or I'm guessing the Grand Master Mason?

  • @Cipri

Oh yeah? Are you enjoying it?

And I'm just generally a big fan of all things Egyptian. Specifically I like what all the individual symbols on the drape represent (right eye of Horus, scarab beetles, the ankh, etc, etc).

  • This made me feel great

  • interesting to see your hands in that particular position as you sit in stillness. The thumbs meeting and making a kind of triangle which points upwards... I do the exact same thing, but I did not learn it... It felt natural and just turned into habit... Great video Reece. Namaste

  • @theprodigy2186

Indeed. It feels like the natural way my hands should slot together :)

  • Wow brother, thanks for sharing this beautiful video. =] I must check that out. =]

  • @LucidSpore

Glad you enjoyed it, Mike :) Yes, I'd definitely recommend picking up one of the Tao Te Ching translations at some point. 'tis inspirational stuff.

  • "follow it, NO END" best line ever.

and this is why we really can't handle the "truth"!

    Great reading Reece!

  • i love your reading voice :) And great scenery. Thanks for the new video ^.^

  • @pinkblackwitch

    Glad you enjoyed :)

  • Reece, you are so handsome. It's charming when you read aloud.

  • @kimislikecool

    Aww, thank you :)

  • brilliant !!

  • How thoughtful of you.

  • It's so simple, as the truth always is in these matters :)

  • @conorJones

    Exactly :)

  • Beautiful. And.......wow, your hips are really open- most men's knees are two feet up off the ground when sitting cross legged.

  • @omcasey1

heehee...what we notice. i'm just loving his energy and that we can revisit the old writings now and they make so much sense (i didn't GET it before..)

  • @omcasey1

I'm sitting in half lotus. It's the perfect position for me to sit in. Everything seems to slot together when I sit like that (physically and mentally). Full lotus is just plain uncomfortable, though. Haha :)

  • @ReeceJones87

For a more comfortable sitting, you should sit on the ground with a pillow under your bottom so that it holds your spine straight, you sit on a bed and have no balance thats why you have to lean over. The zazen possition is very stable and comfortable you should try it for your meditation.

If you keep this up you will calm the mind, if you get to that point were thoughts are ignored you should start self inquiry into where the thoughts come from and who thinks them.

  • cool reading of the tao

  • very nice indeed :)

  • Thanks for that:)

Reminds me how important it is to take up meditation.

  • great video Reece :)!

  • @Kdawg25

    Thanks :)

  • @ReeceJone87- Have you ever read "The Book of Secrets" by Osho.

It's the best book I've ever read so far in this life!

  • @princessdingling

No, I haven't. Thanks for letting me know about it. *makes mental note* :)

  • i kept thinking you were going to do something scary at the end there like jump up and say "boo!" lol ....very enjoyable video made my night :)

  • @LibertyLoveBug

Haha, I had a feeling someone would think that! Glad you enjoyed :)

  • @greenctenophore

Thank you for such warm appreciation. It really means a lot to me <3 :)

  • I find it a little hard to understand some parts of that/feel them. But I'll have to watch it a few more times I guess. Thank you as always. namaste.

  • @LoveLightVegan

Yes, sometimes his messages are so incredibly simple and succinct that it takes a little while to process them. Take your time and enjoy :)
