  • Look at all those rubberneckers on the side...

  • I wonder if he got a speeding ticket lol

  • its a cover up, that plane was lost in the bamuda triangle and suddenly appeared, pilot only shitted himself after he saw the price of gas

  • lol yeah buddy, its what I would of done, beats the hell out of auggering into a bunch of trees and them picking up the little meat and metal chunks.

  • Bet when the pilot stopped, he was all like to the white car: "PIMP MAHHH RIDE xD"

  • Aircraft is an Army AT6. The Navy called it an SNJ6. Thousands were built by North American Aviation. I took a ride in one a few years back. Solid, dependable, fully aerobatic trainer. WWII aircraft. Hundreds still fly today.

  • lol did he get a speed ticket lmfao

  • ges i would have been angry if i was that cop think about a plane going 200 miles per hour just landed on your highway i cant imagine what the base was thinking when he radioed that in.

  • man, thats one expensive speeding ticket right there lolz

  • lolz imagine that was a nazi planes.......HITLER IS BACK!!!!!!!!!RUN RUN RUN

  • A really clever pilot!

  • even used the hard sholder .. :)

  • nice flying

  • no it looks like a sbd dauntless to me

  • the plane was getting pulled over for speeding

  • LOL. . .Gives a whole new meaning to the smart aleck cop coming up to a speeder and asking to see his pilots license.

  • It's a WWII trainer. An AT-6 Texan. Nice plane, but nothing remotely close to a Mustang, Spitfire or Wildcat...

  • The affordable alternative perhaps?

  • Exactly! But still a beast compared to your average Cessna...

  • is that a p51 or a spit fire?

  • Neither its a Grumman F4F Wildcat I think.

  • He sure was flying down the highway LOL

  • LOL he probably got a ticket for stopping on a freeway.

  • ha i see alot of old replicas and real world war 2 planes flying over my house alot... i was at seafear (i live in washington) and there was p-51 mustangs doing an amazing show... i saw alot of german meschershimitz's also or however you spell it lol

  • did he get a speeding ticket

  • Lol, picture a police officer coming to your canopy

  • i met that pilot!! i watched him in an air show with that plane 2 weeks ago.

  • Good vid. See my response ref. 'fighter jet lands on motorway'.

  • just like traditional painting ww11 planes are gone. This world iscrap left overs of cheap people and recycled meterails.

  • Are you illiterate or are you native to this country?

  • I live half a mile from where that happened in Fond du Lac.

  • It's a North American T-6G Texan

  • It's a North American AT-6 Texan with the correct Naval Markings.

  • the drivers thought; Holy SHIT

  • Looks like a T-6 or a T-28

  • a T-6

  • It looks like the ARMY version of the Douglas A-33 repainted with NAVY markings. Visual aids: Antenna BEHIND cockpit and the "bubbles on engine cowling" and antenna BELOW fuselage when it flew over. I see a lot of aircraft repainted this way! Like the NAVY F4 in Monett, Mo painted in USAF markings but they didn't take the tail hook off! Oh Brenthenry1989 There are still many Jap AC still at air shows. They DID build good just couldnt build enough. Why do you think they hit China first? materials!

  • And thats why I can't look at two things at the same time! WHAT NAVY markings! OH DUH! Sorry~!

  • wasn't the plane going to oskosh, WI.

  • that's why they made a strait runway every 10 miles on the interstates

  • damn cool

  • Oh and today a plane landed on the highway, in other news......

  • my other comment was flawed i thought it was a mitsubich a6m zeke (zero) but at the end noticed it was a hwllcat a little to late for the war

  • Nope... Its neither. Its either a T-6 Texan or an SNJ. Both were military trainers during WWII and are alost the same. Notice the tandem cockpit seating arrangement. Also notice the wingspan is too large for a Hellcat. Take a good look at 00:20.

  • Not entirely sure here but I think it might be a North American Harvard. It is extremely similar to a T-6 Texan, so I might be wrong!

  • I believe "Harvard" is just the Brit. & Canadian name for the same plane. T-6 "Texan" was the USAAF name, "SNJ" was the US Navy designation.

I think they were also built in Canada, too, which might be part of the confusion... I do know there were a hell of a lot of them around - still are, in relative numbers, at least as far as "warbirds" go.

Anyway - it aint your average amateur running a 152 out of gas. Pretty hilarious-looking vid. Bet that cop just about crapped himself!

    LOL

  • LOL thanks for clearing that one up for me, mate!

  • good call

  • hahahaha a zeke someone should tell him the war is over and he lost...

(wow that was a weird video)

  • the jap planes of ww2 were faster and slightly more agile than us planes. but the us planes were much better armed and could take much more damage and keep flying.

  • huang2020....I know it's all bull politics with wars, but the Zero had 4 years to do the job and couldn't get it done. If Japan had nukes they'd use them too. You lost....bad. I'd like to see the paper zero against a mustang.

  • The pilot must be very talented to land without causing any acidents at all.

  • On his way to oshkosh, right?

  • worst nightmare

  • Lol, I know that Pilot, he comes to the local airporat a lot, and when we do our memorial Day weeded show he does a fireworks show off of his Plane. IF anyone was wondering it's an AT-6 TEXAN.

  • OH shhhiit

  • Well heck billy-bob, have you been drinking again?

    (very nice landing btw)

  • if the Japs built such good planes then why did we win the war? cause we built are machines better and tougher! the plane is 60 plus years and survived the war and the years following, lets see any jap junk that is 60 years old and still works, if there is then for every jap machine there is 1000 american machines still running.

  • Right after the WW2, U.S military scrapped almost all survived Japanese airplanes and took some good condition airplanes out to US homeland for testing.

That is the reasons why there is no good condition Japanese WW2 airplanes left.

One thing I can agree with you is that U.S WW2 airplanes were better and tougher than that of Japanse.

  • Zero is way better than any other US fighter plane during that time. Too bad u nuked them first before any of those fighters made to US. Well, at least they made to Pearl Harbour.

  • You're a jackass.

  • Huang that is

  • Look buddy any American airplane can beat any nip plane.

Example the course-air was able to beat the Jap Zero.

and are you supporting Pearl Harbor?

    You hypokrite

  • That would be Corsair. Not every American plane could outfight the Japanese in WWII. Remember the Brewster Buffalo? That took such a hiding from the Japanese the US retired it in favour of the Grumman F4F Wildcat.

  • a stupid WW2 SBD-2 Dauntless dive bomber with an American engine, no wonder it has engine problems and forced to land because the quality of American cars and machinery are crap, if it was a Japanese A6M2 Zero it would have no problems at all

  • ok yeah you are retarded it is an T6 texan... and no it is not fake the pilots name is bill leff he has been flying the same plane since way back in the early 80s he is a professional stunt pilot and flys night air shows as a staple the landing is a credit to him as a pilot he had an engine failure and landed his aircraft with only damage on a wing tip from a street sign it wouldn't have mattered if it was a jap zero or not

  • I am retarded ?? You are the American

  • WOW, real good comeback.

  • yuh a.q

  • That is awesomazing.

  • So fake.

  • Thats not fake! It really happened...i was at that airshow, and saw that plane.

  • It looks like an AT-6 or something in the same family. It looks like one of the wing tips is clipped.

It looks real to me. ;)

Great a video, thanks for posting.

  • it's so cool

  • i wonder what the pilot would do if there was a traffic jam

  • well, it was during rush hour. i at least heard so on the news...

  • it's very lucky that there's no car accident and no damage to the plane.

  • When I first heard this...I was surprised there weren't any accidents because of it. Props to the pilot!

  • wow, that's so fake, planes can land on highways, they are only allowed to land on airstrips

  • why do people automatically think that outrageous things are fake? Duh that planes arent ALLOWED to land on highways...but there was no other choice but to crash. It was unavoidable...he was having engine troubles.

  • @vvkimbo07 Initially highways were designed for aircraft, then cars, trucks and other wheeled vehicals took over. Since then the original aeronautical use has been forgotten.

  • @KGero478 no they wasnt they were made for cars first but they put straight bits in mostly in america so planes could land and refuel becouse of the cold war . why build a highway just for planes that makes no sense when they have run ways think before you type

  • They said EMERGENCY landing. Its not like the pilot is just going to crash and die because its not normally legal to land on the highway.

  • Actually it is.

  • Its not fake, i saw it on the news and it showed damage doen to teh plane from hitting street signs

    \

  • Okay- how did you get the video grabbed off of the Reuters site and on to here? I can't figure this stuff out...

(And one more thing-- this brings to mind the ol' "myth" that US highways are designed to support military aircraft. Is it a myth?

  • you gotta give it to the pilot. . . it was simply unbelievable.

  • It's like the plane came from a time portal...lol kickass pilot, and he deserves a medal.

  • LOL it's like San Andreas :D

  • so cute that makes you wanna throw up

  • i just seen this on tv like 45 minutes ago its fricking wered like his engin gave aout and could not make it to the air port so he landed on the hiyway

  • must have been a hell of a pilot. and i can only imagine what the guy in the car is thinking.

  • I don't think cops would've followed him had he stuck to the speed limit. 120 over speed limit = TICKET!!! :)

  • LOL

  • haha awesome, that cop must have been like :O

  • Good job by the pilot!!

  • Haha thats pretty badass its like a blast from the past

  • lol i actually know the pilot in the video he is an amazing pilot and has been flying that at6 since i was little

  • i live in the city this took place in and it actually landed very close to the airport so they dumped loads of gravel across the median and cut open the fence and took her to the airport

  • Hehe, that rules, would have loved to see it live...

  • Only in Cheeseland.

  • Hahah thats tight stuff.

  • What are all those cars doing on the runway? ;P

  • I can do that...

  • haha this happens to me every week. Kidding, but nice moves to land that plane. Anyone know if it was a WWII vet?

  • a WWII vet would be too old. they're not allowed to fly anymore.

  • those darn WWII planes...

  • foda!!!!
