There were only like 4 games that separated 1st place from 8th, and only 2 between LA and PHX. And the east saw how many games separating ATL and the Celts? Yet the Hawks gave Bean Town a shot of reality a few times in the post season. After all, LA lost, PHX lost, a lot of other really well coached and talented teams lost. It all don't matter now, on to next season.

The Suns have added two key players to the roster: Matt Barnes, of the Warriors who played alongside Baron Davis and helped defeat the #1 seeded Mavs in the first round of the playoffs in 07, and 7'0" rookie Robin Lopez of Stanford in the first round of the draft. PHX won't be quite the pushover you're thinking they'll be.
Uh Barnes probably won't make a big impact and Lopez is nice but he is not going to make an impact immediately, mostly because he is a big man and they take time to develop. But seriously the Suns' window closed, just like the Mavs'. They will be strong competitors but its the Lakers, Hornets and Jazz in the West now with the Spurs still a solid team but losing a step on the younger squads.
We won't really know until the season has half passed and all trades have finished. Sweetlildiba99, not much you can do when the western conference saw one of the tightest races for home court advantage in ages. There were only like 4 games that separated 1st place from 8th, and only 2 between LA and PHX. And the east saw how many games separating ATL and the Celts? Yet the Hawks gave Bean Town a shot of reality a few times in the post season. After all, LA lost, PHX lost, a lot of other really well coached and talented teams lost. It all don't matter now, on to next season.

The Suns have added two key players to the roster: Matt Barnes, of the Warriors who played alongside Baron Davis and helped defeat the #1 seeded Mavs in the first round of the playoffs in 07, and 7'0" rookie Robin Lopez of Stanford in the first round of the draft. PHX won't be quite the pushover you're thinking they'll be.

Uh Barnes probably won't make a big impact and Lopez is nice but he is not going to make an impact immediately, mostly because he is a big man and they take time to develop. But seriously the Suns' window closed, just like the Mavs'. They will be strong competitors but its the Lakers, Hornets and Jazz in the West now with the Spurs still a solid team but losing a step on the younger squads.

We won't really know until the season has half passed and all trades have finished. Lakers, not positive on if they've hit their prime yet but need Kobe 2 have MVP stats and good health again 2 be truly fierce, Hornets have a good PG 2 continue building around, and Utah would have been a 7 or 8 seed had they not been helped out by their lopsided home vs. road record. I wouldn't say that the Suns' window is closed, but it's narrowing with Nash's age n'all. But Lopez can at least run the floor.

"We the lakers"? Were you on their bench? The Spurs are about the only proven roadblock for the Suns the past few years. Matching up agains most teams the Suns do well, but the Hornets are young and athletic and gave the Spurs hell. That plus Ginobili had a hangnail to cry about. The Spurs were worn out by a team that ran them hard. The Jazz had their seed due to a lopsided home record, and if the Suns kept Marion, their chances at better record are increased. PHX was only 2 games behind LA.

Lakers had an easy run to the finals. Who'd they play? An 8 seed, a Jazz team that would have been a 7 or 8 seed without a lopsided home record, and a Spurs team that got worked through 7 games by a young Hornets team, CP3 and Co. The Shaq trade happened at a bad time. It seems like a mistakeable experiment right now, but let a full season with Shaq in the PHX and lets see if the gamble truly pays off. And it was Stever Kerr,GM of the Suns, who engineered the trade. I'll remain optimistic.

The Suns gameplan was better off with Marion. The Suns went 1-6 in Shaq's first 7 games w PHX. Being separated by only 2 games at the end of the season, had PHX stayed on a roll and kept Marion, it's probable to think that PHX would have had a great chance at the # 1 seed. PHX was 2 games ahead of LA at trade time. Do the math.
