What kind of makes me angry is that many people today describe the german soldiers as Nazis, when in reality they were just trying to protect Germany. Many of them did not believe in Hitler's cause and were scared, much like american soldiers.

I would like to know were you found those numbers. Germany had much more frontline soldiers och fought desperatly, thats why exercuted more men. And secondly Germany had harsher punishment than America, something they needed to have.
American, british, french and western POW:S were treated good. The russians POW were treated quite bad becasue Germany could not support hundred of thousands men in the early stage of the world. Americans did alot of war crimes, including shooting POWs.
Some dogs did serve (and were served, no pun intended) their country that way unfortunately. However, officers on the eastern front tried to discourage that because not only were dogs useful for everything including recon, combat, tank sapping, alarm and message carrying, but the dog's body heat could compensate for the generally inferior German winter clothing. The Gerbirgsjager units were the only ones to get the famous "Kharkov" jackets, so a dog would be really helpful if you think about it.

I spotted a Drathaar(Ger. Wirehaired Pointer) or a Kurtzhaar, Spaniel(or similar game type), Belgium Shepherd Dog as well as other Shepherd types or Xses among those pics.
Is this because Rotties/Dobies are a bit harder to train + lack of coat if opposed to GSDs ? As far as I know Rottweiler is one of the oldest dogs in the World, same as Malloser-type.

Nazis were not evil; they were human. Before someone jumps on my back, I don't personally believe that anybody is evil, and I don't really believe in heroes either; life is just a whole lot of people making choices. Like the Roman Empire, there are many honorable values which may be gleened from the Nazi Era. Let us not forget, demonizing the enemy is an ancient and unevolved tradition. I have respect for the Third Reich as a historical period, and I think that this is an awesome video.

I would like to know were you found those numbers. Germany had much more frontline soldiers och fought desperatly, thats why exercuted more men. And secondly Germany had harsher punishment than America, something they needed to have.
American, british, french and western POW:S were treated good. The russians POW were treated quite bad becasue Germany could not support hundred of thousands men in the early stage of the world. Americans did alot of war crimes, including shooting POWs.

Some dogs did serve (and were served, no pun intended) their country that way unfortunately. However, officers on the eastern front tried to discourage that because not only were dogs useful for everything including recon, combat, tank sapping, alarm and message carrying, but the dog's body heat could compensate for the generally inferior German winter clothing. The Gerbirgsjager units were the only ones to get the famous "Kharkov" jackets, so a dog would be really helpful if you think about it.

Got a question tho, some1 earlier asked why there weren't any rotties and dobies in those pics (+in old movies)?
I spotted a Drathaar(Ger. Wirehaired Pointer) or a Kurtzhaar, Spaniel(or similar game type), Belgium Shepherd Dog as well as other Shepherd types or Xses among those pics.
Is this because Rotties/Dobies are a bit harder to train + lack of coat if opposed to GSDs ? As far as I know Rottweiler is one of the oldest dogs in the World, same as Malloser-type.

I do not know the exact history of this image, I believe it is from early war or just before war.
The location is in Germany I have no doubt, this images is a companion image to the one seen at 1:05, image from a military location.
