  • I remember this like yesterday. I never could understand the initial popularity of Madonna. She was not a great singer and the songs were mediocre at best. Then I saw her for the first time making this performance. She had such huge stage presence, and how on earth could she dance like that and sing at the same time?? I was blown away...

    Live Aid '85 must go to history as the most gigantic, fantastic live event ever. Everybody was there, and it was a tremendous marathon experience.

  • Her voice is not great but it was "made for this song." My opinion. It's just like even though she doesn't have the best voice it still works with this particular track -- amazing in ways, her delivery.

  • It was hot, she was wearing that full get-up, tired from the Virgin Tour just finishing up, and the nude pics scandal. Still she rocked this one, the crowd loved her. Perfect song for the sunny day and the cause at hand.
