Kung Fu (or Wushu) take a long time to learn, just like any internal art (such as Aikido as well). "If it takes so long before you can use it in actual combat why not learn Krav Maga or Boxing which take shorter time?"
The anwser to that is quite simple. Internal arts bring you much more than just the ability to fight. They bring you peace of mind and enlightenment, something external arts like Boxing and Krav Maga (or MMA) will not bring you.
This Wushu style Wing Chun however, is very to the point. Krav Mage took many of its techniques because of it's practical use. If one trains in a good dojo, then YES in two years he will be a good fighter, able to beat most street punks.

to be honest i dont like leung ting that much neither and ive been praticing wing tsun for a year,thing about leung ting is that u give em a lot of money for him to train you by levels the good thing about training with victor or his brothers is that the take your money but they show you how to fight no matter wat grade u are but wats ur skills

lo digo y lo repito; es muy facil hacer tecnicas de vingtsun o de lo que sea contra un atacante que se lanza hacia delante, deslizando los pies en el suelo, y mirando hacia atrás. porque practicar haciendo contacto solo demuestra que se practica haciendo contacto, no que el sistema es bueno. el karate a toda potencia también es espectacular, pero no significa que el karate sea lo mejor. y podíais dejaros ya de retos y comparaciones. eso solo demuestra una cosa: inmadurez.

Yo llevo poco tiempo practicándolo, pero la razón que me llevó a empezar es que pude comprobar por mi mismo esto con un amigo que lo practica, no importa que te eches para adelante, o que recules, pues entonces ataca él, y cuando te has llevado el primer puñetazo, giro, o lo que sea, ya no puedes hacer nada, estas a su merced, no se como sería en una pelea real, pues no he visto a mi amigo pelearse con nadie en serio, pero a mi me parece un buen arte marcial, sin rodeos.

a mi lo que no me gusta es que son muy agresivos entre ellos. si realmente quieren probar si sirve su sistema deberían pelear contra profesionales( venderlei silva, fedor emilianenko etc.) es bien facil pegarle a tus alunmos!

Why are these guys attacking from such distances? This is not realistic. With the first punch of the defender, which is nowhere close to that of say an average boxer in terms of speed and efficiency, the attacker gives it up, and that always!!
No this shall&can not help you on the street fellas. Move on...

I know about WT, and the very fact that I have some posts of JKD would not make me a JKD practitioner. The techniques shown here are not realistic.
The attackers give up the moment the guy with the red stripes touch them. This thing is JUST inapplicable on the street for it lacks power and for it is TOO RISKY to get into your opponent that close EVERYfuckingTIME. nOW WHO IS EDUCATING WHOM?

Man I am not talking about being close there, I made WT for a fairly long time. I am talking about the imbecile way of attacking your enemy just by running into him from 3-4 meters, without doing anything sound and meaningful in terms of martial arts.

you talk bad about wing tsun when you got videos of jeet kune do which for your information haves techniques of wing tsun but it`s nice to know you have no idea of what your talking about ,makes me laugh when i read comments like this

It is total bullshit. Unimpressive, one person throws a silly uncommitted attack and the demostrator punches and kicks their partner and the guy falls out. Utterly convincing. Fantasy land.

Hasta el momento, los videos mas estimulantes para mi gusto son estos(los de Victor Gutierrez), son los con las demostraciones mas reales, son mas interesantes que esas demostraciones donde apenas se tocan.
