  • is it much harder to play on acoustic? cos i don't have an electric guitar and i find it difficult to get all the pull offs and what-not audible

  • i would say it's a bit harder but with an acoustic that plays well not too much harder. JM has an acoustic version of it that is killer - all the best with your music!

  • Hey man this is awesome. I always try to find tabs for John Mayer songs and I can never find legit ones. I reaaalllly really really like how you go off of the "Where the light is" album. That is by far John's best performance, and the guitar playing is wild. Thanks again man keep it up.

  • really appreciate the kind post.....all the best with your music!

    dale

  • that is what I'm doing but kind of subtle - a lot of feel needed and I think don't get too caught up in an exact interpretation - JM doesn't play it the same way every time. Thanks for your kind words and all the best with your music!

They're really easy to follow and are a huge huge help. I love all the John Mayer lessons. I've seen him in concert twice and love his playing style. Keep up the good work!

  • who is this? Thanks for watching the video,

    dale

  • @tonedr It's jonathan from Southland, I really need to get you to give me some lessons!

  • Lol - I think that goes both ways - I could learn so much from you - I'm a BIG fan of your playing! SCC is fortunate to have you onboard....you keep us old guys inspired!!!

  • Dale what amp and pedal are you using?

  • Fulldrive 2 pedal into a Headstrong Lil King 1x12

  • The second chord in the prechorus is 3x0032. That open G string is really important for that chord.

  • Dale-- I just missed his concert in St. Louis. Glad you got to see it. Another great lesson. I'm having a hard time keeping up with you during this Holy Week. Need to practice my worship stuff first. Guess I'll have the weekend to catch up. 5 stars!

Peace, and have a Blessed Easter.

    Chris

  • hello sir....you know JM has an acoustic version and it's killer - but then again he is JM!!!

hope you are doing great and thanks so much for giving this a look - your friend,

    dale

  • Dale, You always bring a fresh approach to the music you cover. It opens up so many ideas. Awesome lesson. I think anyone who plays the guitar well understands the level of talent Mayer has. We might get in trouble for admitting it though.

  • i agree - IMO he is one of today's pure artist - writer/singer/player/performer and does each very well to say the least. I'm personally thankful for his music - it is inspirational to this aging fat boy!

appreciate you kind words and i hope you are doing well sir!

    dale

  • Cool. I guess I got to check out this mayer dude.--nan. I loike your covers and lessons way better! Rock on! Dice

  • he gets a lot of press both good and not so good - but when he plugs the guitar in for me he is something special. His acoustic playing is just unreal - thanks for all of your kindness to keep in touch - your friend,
