I feel bad for Dee, it's kinda just bad luck for her that she got caught up in the Lee/Kara mess. IMO, while Dee is good for Lee in that she's kind of a shoulder to cry on, Kara kicks him into action instead of just mulling things over all the time and getting caught up in his thoughts and emotions. I guess it's just problematic to have a person of the opposite gender (who you've had romantic/sexual feelings for) as a best friend.

OK...I avoided this video for a while b/c of the title (kara's probably my favorite) but that was AWESOME. you kept the focus the entire time and managed to make Kara come across....like the song said. I liked it a lot...you did a great job.

Jeranjoh, I meant "African Queen" figuratively. Kandyse is a beautiful African woman, I just thought that I would let everyone know how I felt about her. I don't think that the Dee/Lee marriage is going to survive. Lee is too hung up on Kara which is sad because Dee is a good, strong woman. Lee does love Dee, he just loves Kara more.

For me, his relationship with the two women as mirrored opposites. He is in-love with Dee more than he lusts after her. And he lusts after Kara more than he loves her. Whew, I tell ya, it's no wonder the man drinks!

Wouldn't it be poetic justice if he discovers that he can't let Dee GO! Kara would soon know Dee's pain. And if Dee found another lover, so would Lee! Hmm. That could be interesting!

Hiya SaiphM! I agree- he doesn't seem to be able to help himself. Therein lies the drama and the sorrow! He's like a "Kara-junkie" futilely trying to kick his habit! Dee's leaving him free to pursue his Kara-fix may not offer the release he sought. He'll revel in his lust with Kara but I doubt that he'll find happiness with her! And after a time he may reflect on what he gave up to be with her and conclude it wasn't worth it! I think he doesn't yet know just how SAD he can be.

I think this is hardest for Dee. She loves him so much, but you know, I'm not sure if it's right to sacrifice myself this way, which she is doing now. I would leave him probably - sooner or later. The truth is that Lee and Kara share something. Who knows what is it. And now when Kara is back it will be really interesting. Can't wait to see that!

Yeah, I am sure you're right about Lee/Kara sharing some unnameable thing between them. I can accept that its over between Lee/Dee but I want him to pine after her (at least for a little time)! Agreed, Lee should fight for his marriage. It is the right and honorable thing to do, on top of the fact that he does love her. I think Lee is transferring his love for his dead brother Zak onto Kara, and that there's a part of Kara that knows this. No matter how much he obsesses with Kara, it won't bring his brother back.

Hiya RumC! I'm not a regular viewer so there are many things I don't know about past events! I know Kara prematurely approved his brother's pilot status- which lead to his death. IYO, is this the reason for Lee's transference of love onto Kara? Do you think its the reason she made love with Lee one night and married another man by morning?

Lee's brother Zak was ENGAGED to Kara, for all intensive purposes, practically making her Lee's sister. When Zak died, the only intimate connection he could make in mourning his brother's death was to Kara. They BOTH felt guilty & responsible for Zak's death. Because Lee is male and Kara is female that intimate mourning for Zak's death went where it should NOT have gone --in the bed. They've been toxic to each ever since.

It seems odd then that so many would want to see Lee paired with Kara, especially because she's so self destructive. There's a part of Kara that knows that when Lee looks at her, he's missing his brother Zak. The Lee/Kara fangirls won't ask themselves, "If Lee was so 'in love' with Kara, why then was there any room for him to fall in love with another woman AND have said woman become SOOO important to him?" Lee's intimacy with Kara is that of mourning a loss. Lee's intimacy with Dee is of starting a new life. Deep down Lee knew the difference.

So, perhaps Kara's marriage to Sam was a way of dodging that 'honesty bullet' that neither seemed capable or willing to address! Because sometimes when you NAME a THING you CHANGE a THING. How can anyone believe that there is a (happy) future for them!? Perhaps Dee saw their bond for what it was and believed she had a chance with Lee. And I agree, if he was so madly "in love" with Kara- HOW DID HE FALL IN LOVE WITH DEE?

Lee Adama watched/studied Anastasia Dualla for a while before he made his move on her official --that should be telling the fangirls something. He saw his FUTURE with Dee, but because of this thing of him mourning his brother through Kara, he strained the relationship he was ACTIVELY pursueing with Dee. So, contrary to fangirl belief, what Kara REPRESENTED was a wedge in his relationship with Dee. Dee was never a wedge between Kara/Lee; it was Kara/ZAK a wedge between Lee/Dee.

RumC, help me with the time-line please! Did Lee's interest in Dee precede Zak's death? Was there ever any evidence that Lee(Kara) lusted after one another before Zak died? Because if they didn't, I agree, its logical that what they truly share is 'mourning gone toxic.' I don't understand the "fangirl" logic.

No, Lee's interest in Dee did not precede Zak's death.

No, there was never any evidence that Lee had any feelings for Kara besides that as would be toward a sister before Zak died.

Lee's interest in Dee is definitely new, after the death of Zak and after entanglement with Kara. Despite his entanglement with Kara, Lee developed an interest in Dee.

I can't imagine Dee ever being dishonorable, heartless or cowardly enough to allow the Adamas' relationship to deteriorate just to spare her own hide. With friends like that, who needs enemies? Interesting thought, they do have babies on Galactica. That would definitely be a twist for Dee to discover she's pregnant after becoming estranged from her husband. That actually happens in real life --after a break-up, a baby is on the way. LOL! Well, at this point both Adama men, William & Lee, are at odds with their spouses. I look forward to Season 4 to see how the writers handle all of this.

Honestly, the fangirls are perfectly reflective of what's happening between Kara/Lee. None of them are ready as yet to deal with the pink ELEPHANT with neon green polka dots standing smack dab in the middle of the room. So, the fangirls have there place in the viewership scheme of things really. The passion, the need, & the "entitled" cruelty toward other fans of the show on forums are just like Kara/Lee when they are together --toxicly in denial.

Very well put (and compassionate), RumC! It may also be that Lee & Dee are TOO calm (too stable) for some viewers. Sometimes folks just gotta have high drama in order to FEEL like something REAL is happening! Quiet reflection is overshadowed by loud intensity. Dee is reserved and easy going, perhaps a bit too much for some folks! IMO, this is one of the reasons Dee's so good for Lee- a warrior needs a warm soft place to rest his head at the end of his fighting shift!!

Dee's character is nobody's fool. She's one of the most astute/observant people in the Galactica universe. Lee's pursuance of Dee, despite Kara's negative ever-presence, SHOWED Dee that "the whatever it is" between Kara/Lee is not quite kosher.
