It comes thru so clearly that it bugs this guy that Bill Cosby went on to be BIG & he was just another 2nd rate run of the mill white guy, dime a dozen actor. I' never taught him anything...oh-except one little jewel, then he listened 2 ME- & that's why he became all he became.....This guy was just the straight man, Bill was the show.

@MrLouie670 Have you ever actually WATCHED "I Spy" ? I have seen the entire series, and actually Cosby played the "straight man" and Culp was the wisecracking playboy, and Culp was the MUCH better actor at the time, Cosby came across as stiff and wooden at times, though he loosened up as the series progressed.To say "Bill was the show" is hogwash, Culp helped create and write the show and it was the chemistry between them that made it a hit. Culp was the indispensable one.

@tall32guy Robert Culp was the voice actor for Dr. Breen in Valve's Half-life 2. Dr. Breen was the Earth Administrator, and Administrator of the Combine Regime. Dr. Breen is often seen in his public televised Breencasts to the Citizens of City 17, and one of the main opposing figures forcing the oppression on the Citizens. You may youtube "Dr. Breen" or "half-life two" and you would see his brilliant work. :)

The racial comments bring back memories.  I remember how uncomfortable my Michigan parents were letting we children watch "I Spy" because of the mixed race friendship and because so many of the stories were in Mexico. Dad eventually became a fan and loved all of Bill Cosby's work after that point. Robert Culp is right...by those two not commenting on race, they made the deepest impact.

Re: Robert Culp  It didn't hit me till this morning. I was doing my job and it hit like a rock. I was 11 Years old in 1967. I never got over him in that role. Not even as I sit and watch this clip. I learned how to behave in the south in high school watching these two great actors on TV. I wanted to be as cool at they were and later (when I became a cop) the relationship between these two great men was an influence on the way I tried to do my job. I still have a couple of the I Spy paperbacks
