Brilliant song, great production, spot-on harmonies - One of my favourite feelgood songs ever! Thanks for posting this, you've just saved me 50-odd quid on Amazon!
teebuckle!........just don't have the same deduse or reasoning by that statement. to me it gave them much more depth as XTC skylarking........mmmbad little todd...a lil humanity please?
Still remember my Dad wearing out the cassette in the late 70's/early 80's...wish I had the album - why isn't it available on iTunes? Any help would be appreciated...
The only thing I don't like about this album is that Todd Rundgren produced it, ..I love Todd, Saw him 7 times in the 70's but The Tubes had their OWN sound and Rundgren snuffed it out which I think helped put a end The Tubes.
What an album "remote Control" the Tubes did the whole thing based upon TV excellent album maybe their best.
Songs not to miss " TV is King" "What do you want from life" " I want it all now". Even though this album came out in 1979 I saw them in 2008 and remarkably the song was spot on and Fee's voice is still strong.
Bands today can't even figure out these arrangments today. They invoked synthesizers to a level of utopia. They truly set a standard that others can only hope to create by mortal minds.
Superb, one of the greatest songs of all time. This opened the "LaserRock Two" Planetarium show in Baker Street, London, in 1982. Heard it for the first time then, and still sounds as wicked.
It literally blew my mind!. I wore it out and had to buy another copy. The vocal arrangements were to die for. (not to mention the amazing musicianship from the entire band).
Do yourselves a favour, and get the entire catalogue. (I did!). If you're a retrohead, it doesn't get better than this.
@RettroDood LISTEN TO RETTRODOOD. GET THE ENTIRE CATALOG. IT WILL BE THE BEST MONEY YOU'LL EVER SPEND. I GUARANTEE IT. AND NO, FEE DIDN'T PUT ME UP TO THIS.
until recently I didn't realize there was life before; Talk To Ya Later and She's A Beauty! but a good friend introduced by virginal tubular ears to the gospel of this great band!
This song positively kills. Why more bar bands aren't doing it is a mystery to me; it's not that hard, but you need the vocalists to really slay their parts. Remote Control & Love Bomb were the Tubes' best.
One of the most under rated rock songs ever.

This song is under-appreciated by the masses, and is a great one to open a cover band set.

The best album ever made, well engineered and completely topical. The message still applies today.

Todd Rundgren and The Tubes, what a great combination! "Remote Control" is a satirical and musical masterpiece.

I saw these guy at the Roxy in LA circa 1980.
Totally electric and way before their time.
They had great fun on stage. Fee had a giant QUAALUDE strapped to his forehead and others had them elsewhere.
