your layout looks pretty good. i like your crossings good job. I used dry wall mud for my roads and made the crossing out of plastics. check out my vids of my layout
I've found Hydrocal or Plaster of Paris work just as well for making roads. You could glue a piece of stripwood or a short length of rail just inside the running rails to make a flange way. Look at real crossings to see how they do it.
LOL Now Get Black Paint But Lay Down Painters Tape On The Edge's. After That Let Dry And Put Tape On The Middle Only Leaving Lines In The Middle And Color That Yellow That Means Yellow Lines
