  • ha! now it's getting replaced

  • a 9mm to a .45 yea i'll take the M1911.

  • I'd rather have a 1911

  • Aren't the days numbered as the US is looking for tender for a new side arm? And how can it a 92 FS as if it's for the US Military it's the M9 why not use the Military designation when you are talking of them being made for the military? Is it true ti won over SIG due to the fact they gave the government a better price?

  • At 2:31... FN HP!!! That make my day :))))

  • And I like how they make it seem as if Beretta was American, when it is actually Italian. Beretta USA is just the American headquarters of the Italian company Beretta!

  • @Th3m4X92 There is a Beretta in Italy, and the Beretta family is indeed italian. However, the M9s are made in America, by Americans. Beretta USA employs hundreds of American workers and pays Federal taxes right here in the USA.

  • @BerettaCommunity Much agreed, however, the company, even it's american "branch" (Beretta USA), is run by the italian family the owns the whole thing. Indeed Beretta created a Beretta USA to reduce cost of transportation (they wouldnt be able to suppy the whole american military by shipping, they would eventually end up in loss, despite the huge contract they signed with it). Ultimately, it would be unimaginable to see employers in american factiories that are actually not citizens.

  • @Th3m4X92 Sorry, but that's not accurate. Beretta owns Benelli, which has been successfully importing firearms from Italy to the US and is a major competitor in the firearms market. The decision was not made for savings' sake.

  • @BerettaCommunity Thanks for the correction: this makes me think that not only did Beretta create the american headquarters of its own company, but it also uses a subsidiary company to ship guns in order to cover as much american gun market (potentially very profitable) as possible. Wow, good job Beretta!

  • Go Italiansss!!! Forza Beretta!!! :)

  • Beretta won the race for best gun, that's wy they got the contract.

  • 450' 000 more worthless 9mm pea shooters, O yeah for that lol.

  • Goes bang when you go click.

What more can you ask for? I'm pretty sure 9mil was adapted because of other NATO countries using 9mil. The only gripe I can see for Military use is that it isn't light, and most Hand guns are rarely ever used in Combat. But better to have something and not need it than to need something and not have it eh?

  • I own a former range gun, a Baretta model 96 Centurion, it's 40 cal S&W. They are identical in field stripping. Push a button, rotate a lever, hold your slide and carefully bring it forward. I've never had any issues or the slide coming off in use or otherwise. It's dependable as any gun so long as you use good quality Ammo and and clean your weapon. a/ Reliability***** b/Ease of use (No tools required to field strip)***** c/ Cost to operate ***** This my friends is why they got the contract!

  • As an additional note, The Air Marshalls post 911 were issued Barettas in 40 cal. S&W. It's a pleasant gun to shoot as is the 92FS. I've shot .45's in the Navy and .45's that were recal'd to .22 down in San Diego when I went through basic. Reasons being is cost and to ease wear and tear on the range. The 1911 was reliable and dependable in it's day. The Barettas are also quite light, every oz of weight counts when your marching along for 30 or 40 miles.

  • @flojogrande Federal Air Marshals carry Sig P229 in 357 sig not Barrettas

  • I will start this by stating I have no problem with Beretta at all. They make great firearms. But they only got this contract because the military decided to scrap the search for a new 45 caliber pistol to replace the 9mm. I guess they figured it was just cheaper to stay with what they got. I read that they were leaning towards the HK45 or FNP45. But Glock,Sig,Colt, and S&W all tried out for the 45 contract as well. Just in case nobody new about it!!!

  • forza baretta

  • Straywolf5....ok name a better manufacturer?...The only one that compares is smith & wesson.

  • @bmister50 Sig, Glock, FNH, those are just three to start.

  • berettas are not a good quality pistol when compared to many on the market today! POS

  • @straywolf5 i love how you say beretta are a POS when they are the oldest gun manufacturer in the world. lol apparently 500 years means nothing to you. ill give you the fact a .45 has more stopping power than a 9mm but if you are a good shot then a 9mm is plenty. a .45 is for lazy marksman. anyway you probably need to get back to playing call of duty or something, just dont stay up too late, you gotta climb back up into your race car bed and get some sleep, big day at school tomorrow.

  • @TheSTURMGEWEHR44 SERIOUSLY. I love all these idiots who base their knowledge of weaponry off of video games and firearm blogs. Especially the people who always say "how come Glock (or other firearm) isn't the official sidearm of the US military...it's more reliable". Well look at the design and you might just figure out why. Glocks are great but at the end of the day it's JUST a Glock, a beretta on the other hand is literally a work of art in my opinion.

  • @TheSTURMGEWEHR44 the fact that a gun came from an 500 years old maker doesn't make it automatically perfect... I live in belgium and know some of the reputed FN Herstal workers, aftermarket service and R&D people there, and you'l be surprised by what they say about their own products...

  • does the army even use their beretta? i only see us forces clearing the ground with their assault rifles. never saw a soldier firing his beretta!

  • nice gun im buying one but we need the 1911 back in our military

  • What Model and type of m9 does the marine corps use?

  • @Ascenscion123 M9A1

  • @BerettaCommunity thanks

  • i love 1911's and beretta 92's, but the one thing i dont care for about the 92's is how easy they are to take apart by a enemy, its as simple as grabing the gun, pushing the button, then the barrel pops off.

  • @cooey84 if they get close enough to do that, your doing something wrong

  • IS Beretta Italian ?

  • 92fs racks smoother than any other gun ive fired. too bad its a tad big for CCW

  • It looks cool but they should have kept the m1911a2

  • I lobe the way the gun looks and feels but I've never fired one. I love my beretta shotgun but that obviously has nothing to do with their handguns and my only experience with those is an awful beretta 96 that i couldn't hit shit with but I guess u can't rly compare that with a nine mil

  • 0:16 bundeswehr?

  • This weapon is especially designed for killing humans!!! therefore I hit the dislike button!!!!!!

  • @767Alaa Designed for killing humans that are about to kill you... that doesn't sound that bad does it? Being good doesn't necessary mean being defenseless. Not everyone in the world shares your rare sense of pacifism. I wish they did. :)

  • not only did the 92fs pass, so did the sig p226, but the reason why they dont use sig is the fact that it cost much more. sigs are amazing.

  • The Beretta M92FS is not a bad weapon, it is accurate, easy to handle, and anyone can pick it up and shoot it.

But it is not the best that money can buy. I support the 1911 design and the CZ-75 design. Glocks are good, I like the sight picture they have, but I just want that grip angle closer to the 1911 or Hi-Power.

  • troops don't like this rig.

  • This commercial... So american....

  • A Beretta sure is not a bad gun at all - I own a M9A1 myself. But in my opinion it has no chance against a Glock 17 or a Sig P226. And yes, I speak out of experience, I own all of them. Of course just my opinion.

  • glock is a tad more reliable on the whole. i wouldnt feel undergunned with a 92fs, but their grips are alittle big for my hands......

  • My two cents in the M9 review n shooting of this gun, here in my channel hd closeup

  • i like how they say by the U.S ARMY at 0:19 and yet they show a U.S MARINE

  • No there not. A beretta is the best pistol on the earth. Not strength wise but as a reliable gun and it does have the strength to take out your target as well.

  • glocks are better

  • @foho123 - So, why is the american military carrying Beretta's instead of Glocks? Maybe because they haven't got a clue right? Please....Glocks are all right but, BERETTA is on a league of its own.

  • @Mamertum345 Because glocks are in general - more expensive. Glocks have also improved alot since the first generation, and they fixed a lot of problems that came up when the military did their first selection for the replacement of the 1911. Law Enforcement agencies around the world has adopted the glock as their prime weapon, including many US police officers. I do like berettas, but you'll have to admit glocks are going to overtake Berettas if they dont improve it soon.

  • @foho123 Actually the glocks are cheaper.

  • Shootcentermass. The Beretta 92 is the most reliable firearm I've ever owned. I've shot probably around 10K rounds through it. Not a single malfunction. I've shot cheap ammo, steel case ammo, several varitiies of JHP ammo through it. Its fed and shot every single round I've put through it. The firearm is every bit as reliable as any ammo manufacturer. The design had problems initially back in the 1980s which have been fixed. Its probably the most reliable centerfire firearm in existence.

  • dont lie. there are loads of pistols that would totally RAPE the Berretta 92 FS. now dont get me wrong, the 92 is a great pistol, reliable, accurate. but it really doesnt come close to the M1911, or the FN Five seveN. or the Browning HI-Power. This pistol just breaks too easy. i mean im all for the AR-15, but a pistol is supposed to be the very definition of reliability, something the soldier can depend on no matter what. not this.

  • @anduril37 "AR-15?!?!" And you're complaining about durability? Your comment is redundant.

  • @shootcentermass you do realise that a single stack 15 round magazine would be more than double the length of the original M1911 round magazine right? in order to have ANY possibility of decent length with a .45, it HAS to be double stacked. The M1911 is as close as it comes to perfection. it doesnt get any better. I mean it is perfectly useable in a double stacked form, no thicker than this is, but yeah it still is a bit harder to use.

  • @anduril37 ever seen para-ordinance hi cap mags? 1/8" wider, not "twice as long as 1911's mag"

  • @shootcentermass i agree with that i wrote that comment 6 months ago

  • 0:19 I love how they say U.S. Army while showing a picture of a Marine

  • @FlyboyPiper nobody GAF dumbshit, its a picture -____-

  • Ok voce venceu!

    Mas o 45 e a 1911 são eternos.

  • 500 years!?!?!

  • @PrivatePeterson yes the Beretta Family make firearms since 1526, the the Beretta Company was found nearly 500 years ago in the city of Brescia, Italy!

  • I rely on the 1911

  • i dont do drugs, but this makes me high

  • keeping the peace in Bosnia-otkad to?

  • i want one sexy pistols

  • $488.89 per pistol why can't civilians buy it at that price. All my local guns shops charges around $650 per pistol.

  • They should make one in .45acp I would probably really buy one then!!!

  • @pancho0022 there are beretta caliber variants, they are very nice pistols either way

  • @gunny9098 Yea I know but I mean the 92 fs, but regardless they are nice.

  • BRING BACK THE .45 1911,PLEASE

  • @GARTV101 You really think the united states military is going to change there sidearm that they have used for the last 2 decades because some guy named GARTV101 says bring it back?

    Good luck with that...

and who were you expecting a response from?

  • @BosomyDefused yep i was expecting a response from the military .

    ...fuckin dumbass

  • @GARTV101 BRING BACK THE MUZZLE LOADING GUN OR WHY NOT THE MEDIEVAL LONGBOW!!hahahaha

  • @ciaociao381 are you saying the 1911 is outdated

  • @GARTV101 not the gun, but the caliber!45 is heavy and slow and a 45 magazine can't contain 15/16 bullets!! they should built the 1911 in 9mm with double-stack magazine! a single stack mag pistol is obsolete.

  • @ciaociao381 the 1911 is a great design and the .45 is a great round ,slinging a big slug.it helped win ww2

  • @GARTV101 the United States has won the Second World War thanks to rifles and machine guns. But also thanks to the millions of men at his disposal. Luger and walther in 9mm was great guns too.

  • @GARTV101 9mm and .45 perform about the same in fmj which is all the military uses anyway. On top of that, it's faster, has less recoil, lighter, and cheaper. .45 is great, but the extra firepower isn't worth it in my opinion.

  • @THX14438 thats one of the original reasons i think they swithched to 9mm,because its cheaper.i love 9mm its got to be one of my favorite rounds, but if you put me in the middle of war i would rather have a .45,but thats just me.

  • @GARTV101 I don't really think cost had anything to do with it. NATO standardization was really more of a factor.

  • @esh325 Actually, cost did have a bit to do with the selection of the pistol. The Sig Sauer P226 performed better than the 92fs, however, it was much more expensive (that is why the P226 is standard issue to the Navy SEALs). Its not a comfortable thought that our troops get second rate gear based on economics, but frankly, economics are a major part of warfare.

Personally, I hate this weapon. I cannot wait until they let me carry a .45 as my sidearm (USMC- Oorah).

  • @clt19111 I haven't fired the Beretta but I have fired the Sig. Not to be a knob, but where is the data indicating Sig out performed the 92fs?

Thanks, and I agree, I like my .45 as well.

  • @GARTV101- I would have to agree. Plus the M1911 is american made by an american!!! Beretta is from Italy.

  • @KING5TORM1418 Uck American....

  • @TheMegazapcat uck american? what exactly do you mean by that?

  • @GARTV101 Or remake it into a better gun, the looks of the gun is awesome

  • @GARTV101 P226!

  • @GoldenRing1989 aw shit soz nvm, read your comment wrong lol

  • @GoldenRing1989 220 mil, divided by 450k is 488 dollars per pistol lol

so yeah they`re getting charged the same.

  • Any of the big name armorers produce quality handguns. SIG, Glock, Beretta, etc. They are all quality manufacturers.

Can't speak to the other couple million Berettas manufactured, but I've never suffered a critical malfunction of my 92FS. Mine works as advertised in temperatures ranging from -20°F to 105°F.

It's a matter of personal preference. I prefer Beretta. Others prefer Glock or SIG or S&W.

Go with what works for you.

  • Sorry i just looked at Popcorns post, never mind :P.

  • Should have went with colt.

  • Not one mention of Italy? I guess America as usual is always ready to take credit on behalf of others. When I bought my 92FS Inox I specifically got one made in Italy after replacing the following on my U.S. made 92FS - 1 magazine caused untold jams, cracking on the falling block and dodgy misaligned transfer bar. My Italian one is unmodified from factory and works great. Sure I give my pistols a hard time but those peices should have lasted :( I love american guns but the boast is too much

  • Military contracts always go to the lowest bidder, why you think 20,000 Beretta's are going to Iraq? They going to work out the bugs, using Iraqi's first

  • But it's still Italian, sad.

  • The P226 cost less per pistol than the 92F, but SIG's package price with magazines and spare parts was higher than Beretta's. The Navy SEALs, however, chose to adopt the P226 later after a repetition of failures with some issued Beretta M9s.

  • The P226 was designed for entry into the XM9 Service Pistol Trials, which were held by the US Army in 1984 on behalf of the US armed forces to find a replacement for the M1911A1. Only the Beretta 92F and the SIG P226 satisfactorily completed the trials. According to a GAO report, Beretta was awarded the M9 contract for the 92F due to better durability during endurance testing and a lower total package price.

  • funny how they emphasize "american" crafmanship when it's clearly italian!! probably will sell better that way if they say american made and american workers..lol

  • Well jackass...I guess you didn't know about the Beretta plant in Accokeek M.D. You know...the place where ALL U.S. Miliatary handguns are produced by American workers? Tell me you forgot or something? I can live with that.

  • Our Beretta's are made in the U.S.A. And there are differences between American Berettas and Italy's, aside from the stampings. Also many of the variations made in the U.S are only made in the U.S and the same goes for italian variations.. It is American craftsmanship. Our Berettas are crafted/fabricated by Americans on American soil in an American factory.

  • But it is still an Italian gun.

  • So The video claims craftsmanship NOT engineering.

I don't know who the Engineer of the 92 is, I never cared to look it up or I don't recall. Beretta owns the rights to the design but many engingeers all over the world design things and sell their design to the highest biddders. Most auto pistols makers get most if not all of their design ideas from Browning, he was the greatest gun engineer to ever live. He was American, but he sold his designs throughout europe as well as the U.S.A

  • @PopcornCoolie- Hmm didnt know that. I just thought that it was just from Italy. So is it the same how like for example Glock has a factory in Smyrna,GA but Glock came from Austria?? I still like the M1911...I think they should use that man.

  • @KING5TORM1418

Yup, same deal. AND the 1911 is a great gun. It does prove the original is always best. The 1911 is still in the arsenal and is an optional carry depending on who you are. I'm sure the 92 was chose over the 1911 due to it's safety redundancy. It has so many safety features it's stupid. But the military will give a gun to anyone. So better safe than sorry The 1911 allows easy conceal and carry of multiple 1911's due to it's slim design. So it's also a backup option.

  • @PopcornCoolie ...All thanks to an Italian company, which is 500 (5-0-0) years old :)

  • well, these berettas are manufactured in maryland.

italian design, american craftsmanship- the perfect combination

  • @i7q You are correct sir. But the 8000 wasn't the best thing they came up with. The 92 was hit while the 8000 was a bit of a miss. Especially the 8045. A double stack .45 that only packs one more round than a single stack 1911. The 92 is great but we shouldn't forget the Hi-power and similar were around long before the consideration to adopt the 92 as the uniform sidearm. I guess it was chose for style more than function.OR the bid for the contract was too good to say no. :D

  • it started in Italy but it is based in many country's. the u.s Beretta made the M9. its the same with H&K

  • and sig sauer
