  • So beautiful....

  • i was wondering ,,if the ancient egyptians were black people ..why would they be wearing so much dark makeup around their eyes..

  • It would be interesting to see what You could do with New Kingdom 18th Dynasty's female Pharaoh, Hatshepsut, whose remains were found recently. She knew Mosche/Moses. Odd ties there.

  • Thank you so much for a very enjoyable morning spent looking at your work. To beat the dead horse, Ancient Egyptian art shows that Ancient Egyptians had a variety of skin tones, and portrayed them with intent to portraiture.

  • these objects are faith based and no one has any right to disrespect them they are not toys, they are not a means to a end and certainly not decoration they were removed to save for a renewed birth of the ancients and the respect for the earth and the people who inhabit it

  • She is sexy she looks like Elham Wagdi

  • I've drawn her cause she's so pretty

  • Egyptians were and are Egyptians. The people of Nigeria have no more claim to Egypt than Norway. Get over it.

  • She's beautiful!!

  • She is hot , lol.

  • I believe that the ancient egyptians, IN MY OPINION were an offshoot of Melacoid Caucasians and Africans mixed together

  • Such nice work. Bringing these images to "life". Incidentally, this sister [at least half sister] of Semenkhare and Tutankhamun shares the small chin which seems to feature in all of Akhnaten's children. Thanks so much for all the lovely presentations and for the music which accompanies these exotic faces from history.

  • ancient egyptians were not black or even dark ,they were mainly from the area we now would call greece and yugosalvia, who traveld freely and "mingled" with others. the darker blacks of Africa were well to the south as far as numbers go. they didn't move up until the old world started to collapse. even in cairo you don't alwayssee a lot of blacks there.

  • that skin questions gets on nervous ^^ that was not important at that time and before i want say that is fine work on reconstruction =)

  • I never met anyone that gorgeous in my life. I want to look like that in my next life.

  • she is a beauty. Isn't the Internet a wonderful thing that we can see such reconstuctions in our homes ?

  • WHY IS IT THAT ALL THE STATUES IN EGYPT NOSES ARE ALL MISSING ?CLEOPATRA'S SISTER NOSE WAS MISSING FROM THE FACE OF HER REMAINS(SKELETON)

  • Very interesting reconstruction. Thanks for posting it.

  • A pretty attractive lady. It's a great work of art.

  • Hey Jude have you seen the Obama/Akenaten Photos..You should do a restoration and see if Akenaten comes out looking like Obama

  • @jrpone

I saw her do a video on Akenaten. Maybe you already saw it.?

Personally, I don't think Obama looks like the heretic Pharaoh. I think his features are much more refined.

What I find curious is how so npeople are trying to assert that Obama is the incarnation of that megalomaniac. ...thinking it is a complement!

Given Obama's refined features, has anyone considered just how he might look if he had come through as female? Just maybe having some similarity to this princess?

  • good job are u Egyptian?

  • great work!

  • Wow, this is so wonderfull!!! So sweet face back!!!

  • @ruapraia There are people from all over the world with "braided hair". What doesn't make sense? Many Egyptians shaved their heads and wore wigs anyway. It was too flipping hot.

  • @JudeMaris I was wondering the same thing. Egypt is so hot why would anyone want to walk around with braided hair. I can't imagine. I think it was royalty that shaved their heads to avoid infestation and also to wear their crowns. How did they keep it clean. I know that sounds like an ignorant question but just wondering with all the dirt and dust. Royalty could afford to have someone come in do their hair just as wealthy people can today.

  • I like the image of her you have created. I'm very interested in the Amarna Period in Ancient Egyptian history. Do you think she became a Pharaoh?

  • this girl was not that light at 0:48 no matter what evidence says or whatever

  • Amazing! Please can you make Cleopatra from the front like this?

  • is anyone really looking at the bust? It can give you alot onformation as to who this person was , allegedly princess meritataten first daughter of Akhenaten (18th dynasty) I don't believe it's true actually.

  • @trvlgde

As to her being a daughter of Akhenaten, most likely Meritataten....

Your issue with that being an incorrect statement would have to taken up with Wikipedia and their sources.

  • What a knockout.

  • JUST A WARNING TO ANYONE ELSE THINKING ABOUT PUSHING THE "RACE" ISSUE, HERE:

There is all the evidence in the world that Egypt was as diverse in skin color as it was in art...for those with an open mind. I'm not going to babysit any spoon-fed, half-formed arguments from people who can't tell the difference in their own minds between Anthropology and Civil Rights. There IS a huge difference. There has ALWAYS been a difference. Look it up. Legitimate comments / debates allowed by approval only.

  • @JudeMaris yknow i had a talk w/ my mum on this one and i told her that egypt was the america of the ancient world w/its huge diversity of cultures and skin color ^_^ im impressed how egpyt thrived from the mix of different cultures

  • @JudeMaris DNA Tribes results for King Tut and his family are South and the Horn of Africa. Google it and Weep for all of you liars claiming King Tut was European.

  • Actually she looks like Obama's lil daughter sasha. Why do you keep letting her look arabic or greco roman? Ancient egyptians were black people. Their descendants are still located in upper egypt, sudan, eritrea, ethiopia and somalia. Not arabia, iraq, turkey, or pakistan. The statue clearly look african. Even michelle Obama look like an ancient egyptian.

  • I've been through the "Egyptian Origins" discussion many times with other users. I don't see the advantage of one viewpoint, myself. Egypt was a melting pot even 3150 B.C. because of people traveling the Nile, because of trade, & because of immigration. I actually SAMPLED the remaining paint color on the statue to use as a base for the rest of the skin. The strong lighting from the left distorts the tint. Scroll back and see for yourself. I just worked with what was there.

  • I agree that egypt was a melting pot. But the middle east we see today was not like that 3150 B.C. Most of the people there are recently and also the last 3000 yrs. Most of them migrated from the turkey and central asia. Back then the kushites rule all of mesopatamia before the barbarians migrated from north, and intermarried with the people. Also you must understand egyptians rarely mixed back then. It was way after their empire declined did they eventually. Not all of them only a few.

  • I was only referring to the ancients in that context. In regards to mixing, the Egyptians were certainly more than aware of other races and cultures & their dealings with those people are permanently inscribed on hieroglyphs & sculptures throughout the dynasty. Tutankhamun's tomb contained an ointment jar with an ivory lion on the lid, & the legs on either side of the jar are clearly shown to be crushing the heads of Asiatics & Nubians. The ancients were much less confused than we are now.

  • @JudeMaris

I think it would be safe and logical to say it was a safe bet to say it was a mixed place. I read that Eygptians were racist and hated foreigners. I don't think so, Learn the culture. They did not like change yes however if you adopted the culture fine. We have many examples of this in Eygpt on record. It is still nice to read the argument that you and Thutmosis7 had. I think that both of your points have some understandable leans. Just keep in mind that the state is Uber Old.

  • @Thutmosis7: Late of your removed post:

You're not going to get any "love" here pushing one ideal, talking smack, & using archaic language out of context to prove one point and dissing the rest when it suits you. U.N.E.S.C.O. publicly denounced the "Black Egypt" theory in 1974 because of the constant problem of people taking old & outdated information to try and prove a new point, which of course is not considered credible research. How bad is your case when AFRICA says "No"? You're done here.

  • @Thutmosis7 google search races of Egypt then go to images. You'll see a chart of the 4 races of Egypt. You will see a black man pictured with the Egyptian. That means the Egyptian wasn't black. Also, look up the youtube video Egyptian Make Up by Beautiful Egyptian women. They're white women. Also, Zahi Hawass is white. The Egyptian actor who came to Hollywood named Omar Sharif was white.

  • @ebp79 Omar Sharif was Egyptian of Greek orthodox heritage who later converted to islam there were many of other european stock whose ancestors later migrated there. Not too forget when islam was introduced there many people from the arab peninsula made its way to Egypt. I agree with Thutmosis7 there were many egyptians of different skin and cultural backgrounds and he has done a fine job with this video man she is beautiful

  • @Thutmosis7 She's was'nt Egyption, she was greco roman

  • @Thutmosis7 ancient egytians were not all black people.. certain periods were (nubian period with pharaoh taharqa) but not all people were, just look at the mummies, thats the proof that ppl who like to think they were all black ppl deny

  • @Thutmosis7 Lol based on the fact she looks like Obama's daughter? Egyptian as a whole were not Black nor white! and Egyptian were deffinately not originally Black! and I dont see how this Princess clearly looks black? Basing An entire Egyptian race on a presidents isnt right!

  • @Thutmosis7 All the experts say otherwise. Also don't give me this bull how the elites hate minorities and blacks you and I both know thats bullcrap. Elites bend over and grab the abkles daily for blacks THOSE ASRE THE FACTS!!!!

  • Re-comment ) I always look forward to watching you breath life into these ancient figures. The quality and perfection of your work is very impressive Mel. To good for youtube viewing alone. These could be used in the education system, junior high through collage. They are interesting enough to hold the attention of even the most restless of young minds. Package a few of them on DVD and run them past a few educational facilities, ya never know... 5***** Mel + favorite.

  • What a great imagination with an fraudulent restoration.

  • Easy to say, but can you pick up a paintbrush and do better?

  • Well done Jude.

  • This is Meritaten, one of the daughters of King Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti.

  • I guess I could be more accurate...this is...

"A daughter of King Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti, perhaps the young Meritaten, later a queen, and possibly becoming pharaoh as Neferneferuaten."

  • I can't do better than that! Marvelous! :D
