  • These lyrics make me think of The Beatles' ill-fated trip to India to study with the Maharishi....

  • @halberthawkins - you're very close, but not quite...

  • I'm working with a chap from an old electro-ish band ( Modern eon) in Birkenhead. Can't wait to see what he thinks as he is a great producer.

  • You are really quite good lads, and that coming from a Wythenshawe lad is really good!!!

  • @difficultjohn - thanks, just one lad in fact!

  • how do you come up with this stuff????

its genius!!! How have you not got a record deal???

  • The best Primrose League song

  • Really cool to see what you did with "backing track" from last year. I keep it playing over and over on my ipod. I like the Beatles la, la, la, las. Keep it going.

  • this is your best song. Excellent work.

  • remember what i was saying about "we do these things" ( about bring the vocals up etc.) ? WELL this is a prime example of you getting the vocals eq/level SPOT ON... well done another classic tune... you never cease to amaze me

  • whats the tuning on your guitar?

  • i think he's using standard tuning with capo on fret 2 ( as johnny marr used to do quite a lot )

  • Yes, used to do it when I was first learning guitar because it lowers the action, making it easier to play. These days I often end up putting a capo somewhere just to suit my voice or make a bass line easier to discover.

  • Top stuff !

  • Another great one Daniel!!

  • Great Daniel!!! Great Song!!!

Beautiful Sound, ... and i love the bridge... where everything stops

    Thanks for sharing!!

  • well,mr d,THE PLAN,is to keep spoiling us with refreshing new tracks like this, having listened to this a few times dan,you cant keep this talent locked away much longer.exellent dan m8.A+++++

  • keep em comming! tuneage!

  • I am allways confused of how the tones of your voice fit the music. Too many notes together maybe, i guess so they tricking my ears. The music of this song is VERY GOOD. I loved it from the "backing track' video. Welldone and keep trying you are an excellent artist.

    Stavros - Greece

  • I don't completely understand this comment but thanks anyway.

  • so sick... the trippy timing is killer.. flat-out ripping the whole way through... been waiting for this one for awhile... turned out awesome...

  • Glad you liked it.

  • great

  • Thanks!

  • oh yes! i loved this backing track daniel! you did a fantastic job putting lyrics to it!

i seem to remember sitting here last year trying to think up lyrics to it (and failing badly)

  • Cheers!

  • Nice sound! How do you record your V-Drums? A Roland TD-12 I believe? Are you going stereo in or kick, snare etc a part from each other? Thanks

  • Thanks, TD-12 -> midi -> BFD2

  • Apart from the addition of lyrics, I'm liking the subtle changes to the arrangement. The bass has a few rests in the choruses, which gives it an even heavier feel. Best of all is the addition of the other guitar track on 1:50, I don't think that was in the old version at all, just a bass drum.

It's a damn good track, definitely belongs with the rest of the songs from Letters. A year in the making may have been a little much, but you can't stress genius, can you?

  • Thank you, glad you're paying attention! The bassline got a little modified, and the verse guitar riff has a few extra details in it.

Some of my songs take decades to finish, some take a few hours.

  • Nicely recorded Dan and great video with it!!

  • Ta!

  • Awesome, as usual!

  • Thanks!

  • Funny... I was going through your videos earlier today (yet again) and I said to myself, "I wonder if he'll ever do anything with that backing track". Sure enough...

    Brilliant as always!

  • Same here. Thanks.

  • You made my day once again. I really enjoy this one, easily the best since A Better Personality.

  • Thanks, you prefer the fast ones?

  • Usually yes. But I love your slower songs too.

  • Excellent tune, you have your own sound man.

  • Thanks, I am my own sound man.

  • Great as always.

  • Thank you as always.

  • YES! You finally made this wonderful backing track into a real song! I love it!

  • Wow, I sounded way too excited there.

  • No, that's good,

  • very cool sound

  • Thank you!

  • very catchy. i especially like the verses.

  • Thanks
