Ronettes! Old school style! That's the way to do it! Who needs theatrics and fireworks when you got talent like this?!?! Ronnie brought plenty of fireworks to the stage with just her singing. So different from the many talentless "stars" who depend on autotune, and their looks to sell music. When I want to see how real talent performed ... I come here.
At least this is a genuine live performance as opposed to certain other videos of the Ronettes in the 1960s where they are just miming to the records. It's good.
You'll notice at the 2:10 mark Ronnie mistakenly starts to sing the closing part to Be My Baby and then at 2:20 she realizes her mistake and smiles at it
did every one remember the anniversary of estelles passing ill always rememberher and ronnie and nedra time may pass but in my mind when im listening to their music im back in the sixties, watching those three gorgeous girls strutting their sexy sultry performance to the crowds knowing the rest were not even in their league rip ronetts i still love you wish i could write to you dont know where to write oldman with memories
Women danced with class back then! They dressed revealing but with class and proper attitude! Now...Uck, not so much. You have abominations like Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and so much of these failing females who think the art and music they produce is great. It's not. It's horrid.
Peope do not realize how hard it is to sing like the lead singer does with the Ronettes! Her voice really has true power ! Nice dance moves they do in the videos also. We love you forever - " Be My Baby."" i mean , yes, your our baby love too!
The Ronettes were really part of REAL rock n roll! Love that song - " Be My Baby" . I am glad someone added a second song by them also. Great video! Great memories!! Something we can watch forever by the Ronettes who have super talent! Wonderful upload !
What a fantastic group. you can tell from the way the crowd goes wild hearing them. but like Ronnie said in an interview, the likes of the british invasion of boy bands like the beatles finished them off, ppl wanted to hear Beatles, Rolling Stones, dave clark five and a hundred other boy bands. too bad as you can tell they were beautiful and really talanted.
These young ladies exude more raw sexuality and feminine charm than the go-go dancers in the background or the gagas of today. And they do it covered from wrist to neck to ankle. Now, that's impressive...
@Runelady07 You are so right. It seems people today have to show more and more skin to get noticed and I wonder just how much talent they really have. It was great time growing up with real music, I do very much miss it.
Hey, I’m a young artist, & I would really appreciate it if everyone would check out my cover of Michael Bublé’s “You’re Nobody till Somebody Loves You.” Although I’m knowledgeable that Michael Bublé was not the first to record the song, my version was inspired by his rendition, nonetheless. I promise you that you will not regret giving my version of the song a listen, & it will truly knock you off of your feet! So please listen & enjoy! Thanks!
@mizzfoxy9 The Supremes were barely ok; they reached dizzying heights of mediocrity culminating in " The Wiz", with Diana ross. This attrocity was partly succesful due to the overly talanted young Micheal jackson.

@maestro2011humble More power to ya bro! The Ronettes were the greatest girl group ever. I'm a man, too and I love all their music. I first heard them years before I turned 10 years old....have loved them ever since!!!
A music video showcasing three beautiful, talented women and so many schmucks bringing in politics and racism. Then we wonder why America is going to hell. amazing.
everytime I see this video, and thats loads of times I just fall in love with these girls and would have done anything to see them live at their height but never got the chance. If they should ever read this, girls, thank you for giving me a great deal of enjoyment not just for now for for ever. My favourite track
The Ronettes are so Adorable ! They are so Gorgeous and with Great voices . I wish we could stilll see groups like this today , I wish women were like them today .
@flamingember71 Yes, wonder why The Beatles and The Rolling Stones never chose The Supremes but chose The Ronettes every day of the week and twice on Sunday? Because they were the greatest!!
@harkyo I have a dry sense of humor. I compared that era with other music I listen to; how fans behaved. It wasn't supposed to paticularily relevant, definitely not shocking. And yet, you took the time to respond to something neither relevant nor shocking. I responded because I'm trying to improve my typing skills. It's a great song, regardless. have a nice day.
IF ANY OF YOU KNOW ANTHING ABOUT THE "RONNETES" YOU WILL KNOW THAT THIS PATICULAR APPERENCE, WAS SUNG "LIVE". THE VOCAL TRACK WAS TAKEN OUT! THAT'S WHY THE "SONG" DOESN'T QUITE HAVE THE "WALL SOUND." SOME OF IT WAS LOST. THEIR MOUTH MOVENTS DON'T QUITE GO WITH THE WORDS EITHER.
jennifersenn, I just saw your response to the remark I made about them a while back and I definitely wasn't tryin to be offensive. They were all beautiful and I love their music. I was more so expressing what I've read up on about their group, but those were those times. No, I'm not racially biased or motivated. People can be who they want to be. They did great music.
I am 62, grew up in a small rural town in Nebraska, and the first time I saw the Ronettes on American Bandstand, I was so taken by them. I had never seen girls look and sing like they did. The hair, their sound, and their eyes just made me melt. Ronnie had such a great voice, and hits every note with perfect pitch. I love these girls, they should have stayed together longer than they did.
Racism and politics should not be an issue with this great music. There are all generations, races, religions, and political parties that can agree on great music. If you are not here to enjoy this classic clip of the Ronettes showing how it was done "old school" style, then take your bickering over other stuff else where ... please!
@chook9 - IT IS! Some people just have to be assholes and troll music videos with their opinions about politics and racism when it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the MUSIC! Those few people who keep coming back to troll are clueless.
This is a GREAT music video, and I'm thankful for it being posted to show us a little bit of what was geat about the 60's. That's all. PEACE!
When the youngsters who put this clown in office mature a bit, they will realize their error. I have faith in America. For many, this was their 1st chance to vote, and already they are seeing what a disaster it's been. God bless America.
@konzwambii - Unemployment is going down, and the stock market is going up. McCain was the right choice in 2000, but not in 2008. Bush W was the complete disraster as President. Even Richard Nixon was better and did more good for this country. Bush W ran up a huge debt with two wars, one of which was not necessary, the other poorly run. Bush W was a failure as President.
@bellaimages You want failure in a President? Wait til they close the books on Obama. Already most of his party is putting on their sneakers and running away as fast as they can. Or resigned in disgrace. They had a chance, and blew it all the way.
I mean I can sit here and say (as a child born in 1985) that I miss the late 80s and early 90s. Part of it is because I DIDN'T HAVE ANY BILLS TO PAY LIKE I DO NOW. So if we want to go around dismissing different eras based on the times we thought were most fun to us, think long and hard before doing so. I don't appreciate a lot of music today because it IS shit but I wont put everyone who listens to it into a box based on ignorant paranoia.
To me The Ronettes are sacred. I don't live in the US, in fact I have never visited that country (I still hope to, one day), so pardon me if I meddle in your socio-political situation. Just one thought: would the wonderful Estelle have suffered so much and died so young if there had been a national health care system, such as Pres Obama wishes to establish? I wonder.
@promerops I am afraid that you totally miscomprehend 1) Obama and his intentions, 2) the crushing job-killing and financially ruinous disaster known as Healthcare, and 3) the United States, its character, and its founders' vision.
@promerops Well, there is one thing that most fans do not know about Estelle. She had her share of emotional and mental problems. I don't say this with any bit of ease or comfort, as I favor Estelle above the other two. It was noted that, from a young age, her family members could see that she was a "fragile" creature. When The Ronettes officially broke up in early '67, she was devastated and heartbroken. It was from this time on that she began to steadily lose her grip on reality.
@OVtigerstripe Hi! At last, a sensitive comment. What sort of a world do we live in where someone so beautiful, kind and inspiring has to suffer the way Estelle did? Heartbreaking.
@OVtigerstripe Hi! At last, a sensitive comment. What sort of a world do we live in where someone so beautiful, kind and inspiring has to suffer the way Estelle did? Heartbreaking.
@OVtigerstripe Hi! At last, a sensitive comment. What sort of a world do we live in where someone so beautiful, kind and inspiring has to suffer the way Estelle did? Heartbreaking.
@promerops She suffered from time to time with depression, anorexia and schizophrenia. The shape that she was in mentally....doubt anyone could have helped her. Even Ronnie couldn't, and she and Estelle were, at least at one time, were as tight as twins. The state would have had to have her adjuticated incompetent and had her committed or something; I don't know. Really don't think that anyone cound have helped her. Her own mother, her boyfriend of 15 years and her cousin Nedra couldn't help.
@OVtigerstripe Apologies to everyone for the multiple entries above - getting senile, I guess.
I hear (read) what you say and I know, from personal experience, just how difficult it is to live with someone suffering from depression, not to mention the more severe mental disorders. But at one time Estelle lived on the streets, for heavens' sake; surely even being committed would have been better than that.
Anyway, thanks for your informed, sensitive and intelligent comments. Remembering her.
@promerops Sorry that you had to suffer through such a similar experience. Yes, being committed would have certainly been a much better proposition as compared to what the street can offer. I personally know several people who have lived "out in the street" as it were, at one time or another. People, some I should say, may think that living on the street is about freedom. It is a hell, from whence, many never escape. I had read that Estelle had lived on the street from time to time.
@promerops I, transversely, have read that she never was "truly" homeless.....that she just chose to spend a lot of time walking the streets. What is not disputed is the fact that she would tell some people who she was and that, she and the other Ronettes would be putting on a concert at such-and-such a place; obviously delusional. So, I am not sure what to believe about the "homeless" thing. I do know that the apartment that she lived in prior to her death, had only been occupied by her for a
@promerops a few years. So much of her life is a real mystery. It seems that from about '71-'72 on, her life story has been hidden away. I feel so sad for her. I just pray that she did not understand what was going on with her. Yes, you are correct, it is a heartbreaking shame to know what happened to her. Sure wish that I could have been there for her. Really, I regret not being able to meet her. On the Facebook page entitled, "The Fabulous Ronettes", there are well over 400 pictures of
@promerops them spanning the years '58 to '66 I believe. Among these fine pictures, one will discover two pictures of Estelle during her last 10 years I think. I am not really sure what year. I do believe that they are later photos of her. I will warn you that they are hard to stomach. When I viewed them, my "gut" was just wrenched! One woman who claims to have known the family, stated that, it was because of her looks that Estelle decided to live a very low profile life after so many years.
@promerops This woman said that Estelle just wanted people(her fans, colleagues, contemporaries, etc.) to remember her for the way that she used to be......not for what she had become. Now, she suffers no more. GRYPSE
@OVtigerstripe Thanks for the info. I, too, regret not meeting her; I didn't even get to see The Ronettes live. On their second tour of the UK I went along to the Granada, Greenford (walking distance from where I lived at the time) to book tickets for a friend and me, only to learn that, due to lack of demand, the show had been cancelled. Notwithstanding how incredible they were, I suppose it was too soon after their first tour - they had opened that at nearby Harrow. Anyway, God bless her.
I came here to watch Ronnie Spector do her thing and found a load of ignorant racist bullshit. Sad. Please...Enjoy the nice song...Enjoy the talented singers. Forget which generation has it best, who does or doesn't deserve to live here or there or what music should and shouldn't be. We've all come here to watch the same thing, which we enjoy, so why not just enjoy? If anyone insists on enforcing an opinion, why not preach about The Ronettes? Something that everyone's better off knowing about...
I was a baby back then, but so thankful for my older brother, sister and parents for introducing me to this great music! I was a 3 or 4 year old when I remember listening to this music!
As a writer, videographer, and publisher, I'm very involved in the music business today, and am happy to say that there are many young people who appreciate the "old school" music. Folks, this is the way it was done! Keep on Rockin!
packingten, ur way off base man. im glad i was born to appreciate this music. what do they have today that is so special?? illegal immigration, terrorists, a blk communist president ?? are you joking? we were the last generaiton to know the true America as it was meant to be
@Ms22304 I know about all of this BELIEVE ME I do.
The END of America started when LBJ UNLEASHED Negroes on it.
They had been under control up to that point.
Then all at once they got Food Stamps Gov money Free houses,Gov Jobs but they dont work even when they have Jobs.It KILLED me to see that Foreigner Nigbama get elected,a MUSLIM COMMIE,who HATES the US and ALL it stands for.He turns his stinking ASS away from OUR Flag, the same one my Father DIED for!.ROTTEN SOB
@packingten YOU are a sad person! Your words are racist, angry and so very wrong! I feel sorry for you as you are posting this as a comment of music you say you love that is being sung by three beautiful black/white mixed women known as the Ronettes. My family is multiracial, and only Native American Indians were here before whites came and killed them off. My father and uncles fought in World War II. They crossed racist barriers set by people like you, because we ARE ALL ONE PEOPLE!
@packingten It would appear that the real "nigger" in the room is packingten. I'm pretty sure it's people like you that have my generation pissing on and burning the flag. Reflecting on that old saying, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree," I'm alright with your father dying. He's now rotting in the ground and become meat for the maggots for an empire that would inevitably become tomorrow's ashes.

God bless America.
konzwambii 1 year ago
@konzwambii - Unemployment is going down, and the stock market is going up. McCain was the right choice in 2000, but not in 2008. Bush W was the complete disraster as President. Even Richard Nixon was better and did more good for this country. Bush W ran up a huge debt with two wars, one of which was not necessary, the other poorly run. Bush W was a failure as President.
bellaimages 1 year ago

I wonder.

@promerops I am afraid that you totally miscomprehend 1) Obama and his intentions, 2) the crushing job-killing and financially ruinous disaster known as Healthcare, and 3) the United States, its character, and its founders' vision.
konzwambii 1 year ago

Heartbreaking.

promerops 9 months ago
@promerops She suffered from time to time with depression, anorexia and schizophrenia. The shape that she was in mentally....doubt anyone could have helped her. Even Ronnie couldn't, and she and Estelle were, at least at one time, were as tight as twins. The state would have had to have her adjuticated incompetent and had her committed or something; I don't know. Really don't think that anyone cound have helped her. Her own mother, her boyfriend of 15 years and her cousin Nedra couldn't help.
OVtigerstripe 9 months ago
@OVtigerstripe Apologies to everyone for the multiple entries above - getting senile, I guess.
I hear (read) what you say and I know, from personal experience, just how difficult it is to live with someone suffering from depression, not to mention the more severe mental disorders. But at one time Estelle lived on the streets, for heavens' sake; surely even being committed would have been better than that.
Anyway, thanks for your informed, sensitive and intelligent comments. Remembering her.
promerops 9 months ago
@promerops Sorry that you had to suffer through such a similar experience. Yes, being committed would have certainly been a much better proposition as compared to what the street can offer. I personally know several people who have lived "out in the street" as it were, at one time or another. People, some I should say, may think that living on the street is about freedom. It is a hell, from whence, many never escape. I had read that Estelle had lived on the street from time to time.
OVtigerstripe 9 months ago

On the Facebook page entitled, "The Fabulous Ronettes", there are well over 400 pictures of
OVtigerstripe 9 months ago
@promerops them spanning the years '58 to '66 I believe. Among these fine pictures, one will discover two pictures of Estelle during her last 10 years I think. I am not really sure what year. I do believe that they are later photos of her. I will warn you that they are hard to stomach. When I viewed them, my "gut" was just wrenched! One woman who claims to have known the family, stated that, it was because of her looks that Estelle decided to live a very low profile life after so many years.
OVtigerstripe 9 months ago
@promerops This woman said that Estelle just wanted people(her fans, colleagues, contemporaries, etc.) to remember her for the way that she used to be......not for what she had become. Now, she suffers no more. GRYPSE
OVtigerstripe 9 months ago
