  • pure linsanity!

  • i heard the game is over..

  • Send this to AmazingFilms247!

  • 2Bucks

  • hell yes. this was insane!

  • yes

  • Better than the Patriots

  • how many times did he say "lateral"

  • Amazing but these color commentary guys need to STOP jumping the primary announcers call!!!! They do it from high school to the pros and it's so annoying!!! This would have been an amazing call but all of the sudden at 00:53 I can't hear it any more because there seems to be a MARAUDING APE in the background. "OHHH OHHH OHHHH" SHUT UP, bite your lip and let the play by play guy DO HIS JOB!!!

  • Bwahahaha lookit that block at 1:01

  • AMAZING

  • got a little excited there at the end- huh?

  • Football, as played by basketball players.

  • It was still a live ball because the ball was already in play...basically a fumble.

  • The ball bounced off the ground...doesnt that make it an incomplete pass? Or was that a fumble?

  • @wferretti74 Wikipedia's article on it says: "Unlike a forward pass, if a backward pass hits the ground or an official, play continues and, as with a fumble, a backward pass that has hit the ground may be recovered and advanced by either team."

  • Laterals were far more common in American college (never pros) football back in the 60's and 70's. After a while defensive players became generally too fast to allow even one, let alone 15, laterals to succeed which is why, even in a division 3 game, this play was a miracle.

Also, unlike rugby, football has a line of scrimage which allows a defense to set up and get organized for each play. This play worked better against a "prevent defense" than it would have against any normal defense.

  • Nothing too special just like an average rugby game. You guys should do this sort of play more.

  • LADURALIN' LADURALIN' LADURALIN' LADURALIN' LADURALIN' LADURALIN' LADURALIN' LADURALIN' LADURALIN' LADURALIN' LADURALIN' LADURALIN' LADURALIN'

  • :51 "You guys get 'em, I'm beat!"

  • Anyone else see the defender in the back just squating and watching the play? good D man...

  • They executed that play exactly how they drew it up.

  • 15 laterals on 62 seconds! Wow!

  • This should happen every play.

  • Yo dawg...I heard you like laterals...

  • The real hero seems to be the annoucer. Trying to keep up with all the names of the guys to where the ball is going....my hats off to the commentator!!

  • RIP headphone users

  • who just sent this to me?

  • division 3 whatttaup!! i could do that in division 3

  • In case you weren't aware the commentator made sure that everyone knew the game was over

  • the quality of passing and communication was worse than a 10 year olds rugby game. are american football players even practising?

  • @justaRandomhero I agree, they would lose to your juveniles in a rugby match. But, it's a totally different game than any british rugby league. IMO it prepares american men to be used/abused by their military.

  • Erm, isn't the lesson of this video that rugby is a better idea? I think it might be.

  • how is this so amazing, all it is, is a bunch of football players playing RUGBY...

  • ....otherwise known as RUGBY.

  • This commentator seems to be getting more hyped as it goes on instead of settling more as time goes on xD

  • This is funny because normally plays only last for 5 seconds in this silly excuse for a sport.

  • I lateraly laughed my ass off!

  • -Hey, remember that play we practiced the other day?

-Man, that was just some schoolyard bullshit.

-Yea, lets try some some schoolyard bullshit :D

  • One word.

    Rugby.

  • @jay0h1 do you know how hard it is to do that in football?

  • @jay0h1 who care's?? do you know how difficult it is to this in a game?

  • LOL long 2 seconds

  • Comment removed

  • @Mattertea no. it would be if the ball were moving forward. but because its a lateral its considered a fumble. and since they picked it up its still a live ball.

forward motion - ball hits the ground - incomplete pass

backwards motion - ball hits the ground - fumble i noticed it too though. good eye

  • @Mattertea fumble

  • @Mattertea naww.. a lateral isn't a pass, you could roll it on the ground as long as it's backwards.

  • Comment removed

  • is this Rugby?

  • no idea whats going on right here

  • This is play just rugby played like pussies and its described as the most amazing play?

  • @ben9345 Its not rugby you idiot. Since when is their blocking in rugby? Its laterals passes in football. This is more backyard kind of stuff, only tried out of deseperation. They have nothing to lose so they try it. Since teams dont train for it they dont expect it. But 9 out of 10 times they fail badly and since they scored on this one is why they say it was an amazing play.

  • @ben9345 rugby... is not... for pussies... football, is for pussies, there the ones who were pads.

  • @ZachPrinz No I didn't mean that. I meant it looks like rugby sort of with all the sidways and backwards passing but it looks like the guys playing it are pussies because they have pads and never make contact. I should have said something like "this is what rugby would look like if it was played by pussies" sorta thing. XD

  • It looks like rugby for kids without coordination of balls to play without gear

  • @rodseira84 Stfu. They arent rugby players dumbass. Funny all the tough talk from all you rugby fans boys. And dumb as fuck too.

  • Did you know this football game is over?

I think I missed that part there.

  • Question. A genuine one and not a troll attempt. If the players CAN do this...then why dont they do it more often? Maybe if Gridiron was more open like this then more countries would be interested in it which could only be good for the sport.

  • @blueluny i think mainly because it's too risky. this is a play of DESPERATION the only reason they did it is because it was their only hope. this actually happens often (not terribly often but even so) and almost always the other team catches the ball and runs it back and it backfires. This only worked this time because i think the other team wasnt sure if it was allowed and didn't think it would work cause like i said, its a desperation play. they should do it more though

  • @CurtisDoverY0 Thanks for the response! i do think they should make gridiron more like Rugby...all the stopping and starting and defence / attacking squads changing REALLY slows it down...

  • @blueluny yeah i agree. i mean i love gridiron. and in the US we don't get much rugby action which sucks cause its awesome... but you're right gridiron gets repetitive and slow due to stopping and starting. still fun but agreed

  • @Payka92 More like ate too many cheese burgers ….Burp Burp !!!

  • Amazing touch down play. Their coach ROCKS. Best show of team work I've ever seen!

  • Lol I thought it was high school until the guy screams THIS IS THE BEST PLAY IN ALL OF DIVISION III FOOTBALL

  • Yep it's called Rugby League and thats how you play football . Not your version which is more like "kill the dill with the pill"

  • my dad went to trinity

  • Gives the famous '82 Stanford-Cal game a run for the money... ; )

  • So who won?

  • awesome, that announcer sounded like he was channeling Joey Styles from ECW.

  • 1:00 theres the guy crouching down, and then 35 is just walking with his hands on his hips...he couldve made the tackle

  • THEY LATERAL IT AND KEEP LATERAL IT ON THE LATERAL

  • @chefvictor ITS A LATERALCEPTION!

  • 0:51

"fuck this shit i'ma sit down."

  • My school plays them in 1hr!!.. and my boyfriend is on the D-Line!

  • "Thompson laterals it to curry, who throws it to madix, madix laterals it back to curry, curry laterals it to thompson, now lateraling it to curry, who then laterals it, then lat.. lateral again... latera... la... fucking lateral... TOUCHDOWN!!!

  • at 0:17... what a great lateral

  • at 1:00 that guy is still crouching on the 50

  • best game of hot potato i've ever seen

  • i like that

  • :51 look at the guy just squatting at midfield. If only he had kept going until the play was over.

  • For any chance was any of the passes a laterrall?

  • What a bunch of lazy fucks.

  • its a lateral

  • The cal v Stanford bowl game resurrected

  • 45 people were on the other football team

  • @StollieSA ya ha. that's why my rugby team is full of football players but rugby players are to pussy to play football GTFO.

  • If you think thats hard... trying playing rugby for 80 min, but definately not in the U.S.... they're still developing...

  • Thought this only worked during 3rd grade recess...

  • Didn't cach it, is this game over?

  • I go to Trinity and no one here thinks this play is that cool

  • anyone else see lazy player from the other team crouching down in the background at 0:51?? lol

  • @FLORIDIA3627 Lol,thanks for pointing that out

  • @FLORIDIA3627 He had to take a dump

  • @FLORIDIA3627 Yeah... What the fuck? lol

  • @FLORIDIA3627 plus #35 walking around with hands on hips & several just kinda going thru the motions all waiting for someone else to make the tackle. What a lazy team they deserved to lose. That guy kneeling down just watching should get beat up by the student body the rest of his time at that school.

  • @FLORIDIA3627 i know right? what a lazy douche

  • In light of this video, you could take any half decent handball team from Moldavia's Third Division and win every Superbowl from here to 2020.

  • @StollieSA It's not the same. American football isn't better than rugby. Rugby isn't better than football. But still, you don't understand the game.

  • when a ball hits the ground does the play stop? No it's a fumble

  • WAY TO GEEK OUT

  • hey didnt the ball hit the ground at 0:57???!!!!

  • @tmasterx99 yes but at that point, it was a fumble

  • STOP SAYING LATERAL

  • The play starts at 0:06 and ends at 1:06 . Exactly one minute!

  • im confused. is the game over?

  • If American Football always looked like this, i would like it.

  • Sure but at some point it isn't really football anymore. Football is a game of strategy and this isn't exactly strategic.

  • That's not miraculous, any group of idiots could do that. Division 3 football is equivalent to high school football.

  • @Gunzaugin false statement, I play d2 football but im just saying. You must have never played sports in college, nor even went to college even. This is a pretty crazy play and I would be pissed if I was the other coach

  • I tried this at football practice and it didn't work

  • Who scored?

  • haha AMERICAN beter learn how to play rugby ....look at how dump the defenders were when the attackers passing the ball around haha....this is NOT FOOTBALL...better called THROWBALL haha

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah that's just them playing rugby or league

  • Wait there was a touchdown?!

  • is the game over?!

  • the most sensational play in all of division 3... what an honour

  • The last lateral hit the ground. Isn't that a dead ball and the play is done? Or is that only an NFL rule?

  • @ptmullen26 No, its ruled a fumble...

  • @ptmullen26 if it is a forward fumble on purpose it is ruled dead.

  • Did the Tigers win?

  • They're playing rugby haha

  • @tparanjpe45 well in rugby they can toss it forward, in american football you can only lateral it backwards. close enough

  • @whomiketrann

No, they can't. In rugby you're only allowed to pass backwards, or lateral. You can kick the ball forward, but certainly you can't "toss it forward", and by the way the phrase "lateral it backwards"breaks both Newtonian and Quantum Mechanical laws.

  • @ap4777 Thanks for the physics lesson and Rugby rules. You are empowering me and many people with great knowledge. I appreciate your great efforts! Again, thanks!

  • @ap4777 Thanks for the physics lesson and Rugby rules. You are empowering me and many people with great knowledge. I appreciate your great efforts! Again, thanks!

  • caralhooo!!!!

  • Did they score a touchdown at the end? Did the Tigers Win?? I'm not sure I heard them say that....

  • 1:04 Theres a guy sitting on the ground who could of PREVENTED that.

  • "Moraculous" Wow lol

  • Just how they drew it up.

  • They need to this in the NFL.

  • Wow what a play

  • they are so lucky that on the last (15th) lateral when the ball hits the ground that it bounces straight to Curry and doesn't slow the movement. also, i cant believe Millsaps weren't able to intercept the ball or at least tip it off direction. i really like this trick play from a middle school game... /watch?v=D_sBqXXVmyM&feature=related

  • that guy is really excited..this football game is the best thing in the world, it is beautiful and it is amazing and it is incredible and i want it to father all my children and my childrens children and i want it to read me stories when the worlds got me down and when everything seems to be going the wrong way it will bring me strength, serenity, and guidance, and then i will marry it and make love to it all day and all night long it is so beautiful and amazing!!!!

  • i wonder how long it took for the announcer to stop yelling and get over the initial excitement...

  • Trinity never loses. They should be D-1 in basketball and spare Austin College some heartache.

  • Trinity kills us every time too...

  • hey, is it over? I can't tell

  • Guy in the middle of the field taking a shit hoping for the guy to be tackled??!?!?!

  • i see alot of purple jerseys standing around on this play..... at 1:00 #37 is watching the play

  • i'm english, but isn't that called a pass whats a "lateral"

  • @cfcolly in american football when you pass it backward or sideways, you call it a lateral, to distinguish it from forward passes.

  • @cfcolly and to be clear just in case, the reason that distinction is important is because there can only be one forward pass per play, and it must begin behind the line of scrimmage (where the play starts)

  • @gattican ah cool, i didnt' know that. so once theres been one forward pas it's similar to rugby with the line driving forward while backward passing. but this is faster than rugby. I bet they made a rugby team from all the best american footballers they'd give the europeans a run for our money

  • @cfcolly well, the thing is that laterals are pretty rare (except in desperate situations like this) because they're kind of risky; if you drop the ball the other team can get possession, so it's usually safer to rely on passes or runs without any lateraling. but they certainly pulled it off quite well on this play.

  • @cfcolly a lateral is a pass backwards or sideways that you can do more than once. A forward pass is only allowed once a down.

  • @:51 and :59.

What's up with the Millsap player just squatting there?! There are only so many players on the field and they obviously could have used him. Having him active in the play definitely would have changed the way this play happened.

Maybe he was hurt or exhausted?

  • i am more impressed with the announcing

  • rugby is for wankas. in football you get to wear battle armor.

  • Looks like a bunch of children trying to play rugby..

  • pause at 0:57 the ball hits the ground.

correct me if i'm wrong, but if the ball hits the ground, doesnt the play stop?

    o.O

  • @vetta2000 nvm someone answered it on pg 3 of comments

  • @vetta2000 not if its a lateral, then its a fumble

  • @vetta2000 you are wrong. it is treated like a fumble and the play goes on.

  • @vetta2000 because the ball didn't go forward, it counts as a fumble which they then recoverd. so the play goes on.

  • @StollieSA Never call someone a pansy for wearing protective gear. I call it being smart. Like what you tell your child when they ride a bicycle.

  • now this is how you're supposed to play football... not just charge like a bull for 5 seconds and then huddle for five minutes with a coach telling you what to do. This is a brilliant play... forces players to think and be alert and work as a team

  • This is rugby. This is not extraordinary. It is the way rugby players play the game all the time. Perhaps the Americans should use this tactic more often.

  • @lindybeige it's a different game. they try it in american football and it doesn't work this way very often. since the rules are different, they go for what works instead. this is only for desperation.

  • @lindybeige to elaborate, if a professional team decided to do this consistently they would lose every game by 50.

  • @lindybeige this would still be impressive for rugby. in 11s you can rarely cover three quarters of the field without a being grabbed

  • @lindybeige This type of play is very rarely done, because there is a great risk of turning the ball over to the other team. On a lateral, it's a live ball even if it is dropped, and the other team can pick it up. Maintaining possession is the most important thing in football, which is why even conservative set-play laterals are rare.
