This movie is another masterpiece in this wonderful franchise. Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita were brilliant as always. Tamlyn Tomita and Danny Kamekona were great too but I still missed Macchio's screen mother, she was very impressive in original movie. Anyway, The Karate Kid 2 was great sequel. They put more philosophy in it plus we can find out more about Miyagi's origin. I miss the 80's
My favorite of the series. The sets, cinematography, acting - everything was superb. It feels almost like a different director was behind this one, though it wasn't. Part 3 also had a different feel than the other films, and wasn't a BAD film in my opinion. Yes, the worst of the series. Bad writing, directing, and acting at times. But anybody who says Daniel San is too whiny or weak in that film obviously skipped over those awkward, confusing teenage years.
I personally think the first one is the best, but this film is also a decent story, even if the final fight is slightly far-fetched, Daniel basically slaps Chozen down. Still enjoyable nonetheless.
Love how this one picks up immediately after the original; Feels like one long story arc! They must have used a different director after for the 3rd one, it felt different and honestly, it sucked!
I saw this at the drive-in theater in Council Bluffs Iowa as a kid. This is still one of my all-time favorite movies. Great trailer by the way. It is made of win.
I love the original and number 2 (haven't seen 3 yet in fact just saw 2 for the first time last night) but i also love the remake though i love the above mentioned more. I'm glad to hear of a sequel for the 2010 film but it can't follow this one which is awesome
This KK film was good until the AWFUL KK3 came out. God that SUCKED. Not only did they make Daniel weak, he said weak things like "Yes he will, you won't."
3 actually makes sense if you think about it. His life was falling apart, growing pains, indecision... Cmon you were never a 17 year old pissed at the world? I mean... They could have made him LESS of a wuss in the 3rd but it wouldn't be uncommon for him to come home, his life fall apart, he get confused and he forget himself and goes cry baby. Seen it happen to plenty of people.
@fatgirlsrsneaky so true. I hate it when they say :"Oh Daniel is such a wuss in the 3rd movie!", The movie sucked!" etc, etc. He's a teenager. A normal teenager. I wonder what it would happen to them if they got their asses kicked like his!
sorry about getting on your site but really liked old karate kid people and a great movie. but new karate kid cartel keep attacking david sciberras channel about monique sciberras the real life karate kid they had sent my site to poland and had put page 225 sites back from number one they even talked about chinnese russian hackers but there hits on there sites are false all new karate kid trailer sites thats y im on your site so i can have a say. in God we trust rid us of there evil
i agree. i think the imagery depicted in the 3rd film was very racial as kreese's buddy terry silver had made a career and became rich from his tour in vietnam. however kreese was still fighting inner demons from losing the match in the first film and his dojo losing enrollment of his students. the movie just didn't seem realstic and i like to think daniel ended up with komiko in the end of this film, i think she was the best looking girl daniel got with.
The two first Karate Kid movies are the best, I always felt KK3 tasteless, I dont understand the point of it. KK2 was the perfect sequel, and I cant really decide if I like this one best, it contrasts the original in that way Daniel San goes to the roots of Karate and have a showdown that are not competetion but fight to death.
Heh, I was wondering how you were going to handle the alternate angles the trailer used that weren't in the film. The crane pose is from the opposite side, for instance.
Yes, the trailer is KICK ASS exciting, but they'd never get away with some of the voiceover's lines now: "...discovered the man within the boy...discovers the man within himself". Too much room for entendres.
KK II is starting to get a fair amount of airplay on AMC. Caught it at least 4 or 5 times the last two months.
I agree. Parts 1 and 2 were classic, Part 3 was sort of disappointing and The Next Karate Kid is a bit worse, but still decent. I still can't decide if 1 was best, or 2. It's difficult.
And surprisingly, #2 is actually better than the concluding chapter in this case, which doesn't usually happen.
The original in my opinion is the best, but this is a good continuation of the story. Better than part 3 and the hilary swank version.

...they should have sacrificed his girlfriend, as a Miko (Shrine Maiden), to purify the village!
That would teach Danny boy not to mess around with ancient Shinto rites!
Some footage of her "nail pulling" as an example of "settling up" would have also been nice!

What is the title of the music/soundtrack at the end of the trailer??
Help!!please

It might be a part of the official soundtrack. It's a variation of the final theme from the first film.
