  • you got a woman to film this? lol not you're most attractive moment.

  • I like your idea. Maybe re-title your post to "Inexpensive neti pot alternative", because "you don't need a neti pot" demonstrated by someone who uses one is misleading.

  • ......15$ dollar neti pot....sea salt.......tilt you head like this....oh yeah!!!. than you go buy some sports drink.than you pour it into the bottle than you drink it from the very same nozzle. or you can also make somebody drink it as a prank

  • Comment removed

  • well i use a glass or mug as alternatives. where do you buy that water bottle?

  • that's why I always use my neti pot in my underwear i get wet clothes

  • I looked for sports bottles like that. Cheapest i could find was 15$ LOL

  • I used a measuring cup...

  • Just use afrin, really it works. No irrigation...it just clears it up.

  • what would happen if i used table salt?

  • Just did this and it really works. Didn't have to spend any $ Thanks!!

  • had a headache all day, did this and it really worked :) thanks alot bro! :D

  • just shut up and let me see you quirt water up your nose already

  • Thanks for this..it does work..how many times should we done this a day?

  • That's some groovy nasal porn music right there!

  • HAHA XD . this can cause ear issues -_-

  • Don't put too much salt or it'll burn. Just use about 1/4 scoop and that should be fine.

  • Or you can go to the beach as well...

  • i did this and it hurt so bad,i ran screaming like a little girl...Well off to try it again...

  • I Used A Body Wash Bottle It Felt Weird And It went To My Mouth.Thank You You Gave Me The Idea Because I Dont Have A Water Bottle

  • lol at 0:48 "oohh yeaa"

  • You're cool man!

  • You watch Oprah?

  • This is the third video I've watched of people pouring water up they're nose. . . And now I'm having a discussion about Neti Pots with my boyfriend. . .

    I need a life. . .

  • @jinglejangle32142 They work well.

  • @jewpiles So I've been told.

  • This also works with old syrup bottles that are entirely cleaned out. I just did this with one of those, and I blew out massive chunks of crap and feel x10000000 better.

  • dose it hurt?

  • I suffer from a severe sinus problem called "sinusitis". It is by far the worst sinus infection you could ever get. Because of this problem, and no med insurance, I have to find alternative ways to keep myself from going crazy with this crap. I HIGHLY SUGGEST THIS METHOD IF YOU HAVE ANY SINUS PROBLEMS! It practically saved my life.

  • Thanks for the tip. Nice not to have to fork out money when you don't need to.

  • Great tip against commercialization, no need to buy an expensive neti pot.

I use my teapot for this type of thing myself.

  • The head tilt isn't necessary with that type of bottle.

  • will this get my ear to pop cause i havent heard out of it very good in three days im guessing from mucus

  • LOL. Funny video!

  • Thank you so much I just tried this. I felt like someone punched me in the face yesterday plus I got no sleep last night. But after I saw this I tried it. I did the treatment I felt instant change in my breathing. Again thanks. ;)

  • Cheers....took your advice and it worked like a dream! Thanks for the tip.

  • Man, that's crazy how the nose can work.

  • Back from the bathroom. Update: you don't really have to force the whole nozzle into your nose - just get it as close and snug as you can.

Feels a lot like jumping from 5 m high into the pool - y'all know the feeling after.

Lil' bit of "stuff" came out, I think the pressure has lessened. I'm sold!

  • I KNEW it! Thanks so much for the inspiration. Off to the bathroom I go. :)

P.S.: I didn't find the title misleading. And haha! Yeah... I'm not too sure I can get the nozzle in.

  • Do not use IODIZED salt, use regular salt, kosher salt, or sea salt.

  • WOW THANKS!! THIS IS AWESOME!! I JUST TRIED IT AND INSTANT CHANGE IN BREATHING!! I MIXED WARM TAP WATER AND A SLIGHT POUR OF PEROXIDE THE FIRST TIME!! IT FELT SO GOOD THAT I DID IT AGAIN BUT THIS TIME ADDED WARM TAP WATER, PEROXIDE, 1/2 TBLSP OF BAKING SODA, AND SLIGHT POUR OF ORGANIC APPLE CIDER VINEGAR!! THIS SOLUTION WAS WAY BETTER THAN THE FIRST AND FELT AWESOME! I AAM GOING TO KEEP THIS UP FOR MY SINUS ISSUES!!

  • I need a hobby. I'm sitting here watching people squirt water up their nose :o(

  • @strummingnerd lmao

  • @strummingnerd You could try watching the enema videos - some of them get pretty hardcore and try to ingest a gallon or more before release. Don't ask me how I know that.. hahah

  • that dudes nose is about the same size as the nozzle on that water bottle!..i wonder why..

  • if you dont use salt, it will be uncomfortable. if its too cold or too hot then it will suck. too much salt and its bad. gotta match the natural temp and saltiness of your body. let the water do the work and definitely dont blow your nose afterward. just let gravity take care of most of the work, then when you do blow your nose, lightly pass air through one nostril at a time. otherwise you could blow an eardrum and that is painful.

  • The title is soooo misleading! It should say "A more economical nasal irrigation technique" or to be extremely general "Learn to understand a basic application and making it better".

  • @plessans Grammar Nazi...

  • i was hoping that for fun you were going to squeeze hard and shoot that stuff out your nose.

  • I'm glad folks said sea salt. I used kosher salt, and the it stung the crap out of my tear ducts!!

  • Seems crazy but sinus rinsing actually works. At least for me. Before I started to do it every night the nostril of the side I was laying on would get clogged. Causing me to flip over. Which then would clog the other side.

Since I started I don't get clogged anymore at night. It's a crazy looking thing to do but it works really well for me. Better than medicines that make me restless at night on top of it.

  • great video . i have bad hayfever, im going to try this. i have never washed out my nose before . can you use saline . or does it have to be sea salt. thanks for the great tip , cheers from australia .

  • the reason salt burns is because the ph level is off; try this: salt and baking soda 1/2 tbs each to 19 fl oz of water (about the size of can of soda). I learned it the hard way, using sea salt almost took my nasal lining off. Good luck!

  • does it help with post nasal drip? Im pregnant and need something natural... thanks for posting!

  • Better than salt (that can dry tissue) use a little baking soda. Fungus, if untreated, can cause cancer. Recurrent allergies and sinus problems are signs of Candida, or fungus, and an immune system that can't keep up. A blood panel can show what nutrients are lacking, also. Your doc is clueless and/or mute about human nutritional needs, most likely. See Dr. Simoncini's vids here.

  • I been doing this for years but never thought of using a old water bottle! That is SUCH a great idea!. THANKS for the idea!

  • i just pured warm water in a bottle and did this to my nose now my ears are popping and i cant stop sneezing this is a terrible idea.

  • @WHOxDEY09 Did you put some sea salt in the water? If not, it really burns, with sea salt it should not harm - as this complex is similar to our body's natural essentials.

It helps for colds, throat infections, sinusitis, migrene, allergy and even to prevent them.

  • Thanks man.I had to improvise.I got a dish detergent bottle THAT WAS EMPTY AND CLEAN.I did use table salt.I've had a cold for almost 2 weeks.Today, the area around my right eye was hurting, especially when I went to blow my nose. This was the first time that I've had this kind of pain.I'm pretty sure it's a sinus infection.Anyway,I just flushed.I think this may clear it up.Thanks again.

  • duuude that is so awesome!

  • love it !

  • damn,am i the only one unable to do this?i can't breath while doing it and so i always have to stop

  • Thanks for this simple do it yourself video and warning to not use Table Salt ( burn ). I will give it a try today ( need to buy a water bottle ... and sea salt first)

  • I'll have to try this sometime!

  • I do not think it is sanitary to stick that up your nose. It's not even made to stick up your nose dude!

  • cann we use water bottle?

  • Thanks*)

  • cleaning your nose isn't gross, sticking that dick of your in some guys ass is grose

  • okay

  • Thanks for the idea...Got creative and used one made of an old milk carton.

  • Thanks I was going to buy the pot but wouldn't now! Thanks x

  • thanks, i will try it.

  • I use my teapot (to clean sinus) and then recycle the thyme leaves to make tea.

  • Wow, thanks! I was on the verge to buy one neti pot from e-bay and to spend a lot of money on shipping tax (to Brazil). Thank you.

  • Hell yeah, water bottle is the way to go... Why buy an expensive neti pot?

  • Just did this wow It's great .Thanks man

  • I used the exact same thing.

  • don't you get this way some water in to the ears?

  • Wow that is so friggin AWESOME!!!!

  • Or, you could get a plastic water bottle with the lid on and cut a hole in the top small enough and big enough to not hurt your nose and clean it out.

  • nice vid

  • you can also use the sports bottle as a enema . But prefered to use after you do the nose .

  • hahahahaha

  • sir I am greatly offended by your sarcasm!! ;D jk but google it, youl see what I mean. I dont particularly care and dont like preaching it but its actually true lol.

  • lol "hell yea"

  • yeah but you cant use it anymore

    I just use gatorade bottles

  • thanks for the tip!

it's actually spelled as 'jal neti' / 'neti pot'.

to get rid of allergies you could check out the desteni forum!

  • can U use Regular Salt.

  • from what i read, all these peole say no, 0.9% salt water, not iodized

  • dude, i have one of those sports bottles. the water doesn't flow freely like in a neti pot. you should never force water into the nasal passages

  • I use cold water

  • You must use purified water!!! That si why it burns if you use tap water. Chemicals in it. Distilled is best and use sea salt. Plus you need to have the water mildly hot from the microwave.

  • and purified water has no chemicals? lol u do realize botted water is just tap water with a fancy label right? lol

  • Im not talking about bottled water and yes i know that about bottled water. I use the PUR water filtration system. It uts out water that IS gentle on m nose. However, I have got a few flukes here & there when using it. But, DISTILLED water is the best thing. I just follow my nose.

  • you know microwaves warp the energy structure of the water making it cancerous right?

looks like you still got some learning to do ;D

tap water better than microwaved distilled/filtered

  • What the HELL??!! That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard!!!

  • There are micro organisms in tap water, parasites too. not wise. distilled is best. With sea salt.

  • Doesn't municipal tap water pass strict and frquent water purity tests?

  • maybe, but their standards are lax, and flouride is actually very toxic

  • not all bottled water is. you have to check the source.

  • I tried this, and it hurt, lol. it was the same feeling as when you go swimming and you accidently get water up your nose .. Am I doing something wrong here? Or is that normal??

  • that's normal.

  • Make sure you put 0.9% seasalt in the water. If the salt concentration is right it hurts less.

  • Did you use plain tab water? It will hurt like hell if you use regular water. You need to put salt in the water so that it matches the ph of the liquid in the cells of your nasal lining.

  • no i used fresh drinking water, warmed up and mixed with a bit of sea salt, then when it desolved i let it cool. THEN used it. it just plain didn't work. =[ and on top of that it sort of hurt.

  • the water should preferably be warm distilled or previously boiled water. the right amount of salt should be used and don't put too much water in there. about 240ml should be enough. if you use a bottle instead of a neti pot, then squeeze GENTLY and don't force it into your nasals in one go. blow your nose then do the same with other notstil. if you do this right it should hurt or, burn or sting.

  • Wait, if you do this right, it should hurt?

  • No, it won't.

  • that's NOT normal. if you're holding your head at the correct angle you won't feel any discomfort

  • you probably didn't use enough salt. The salt prevents the water from being absorbed into the mucous membrane. If you don't have the salt content right, then it will feel like you have described..like how water feels when it goes up your nose in the pool.

  • I bought a baby bottle from the dollar store and cut the tip wider & put a small ventilation hole in it. This has been working fine for me. I use 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt & 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda. For the low price of $1, I clean my nasal cavity.

  • thanks it helped allot, but i dont use salt in mine, it feels a bit wierd but i can never get the right amount of salt to water and i start to gag and no salt works fine:)

  • Great idea. Thanks!

  • All you need is about 1 teaspoon of sea salt. Don't use table salt such as Morton's or the like. That stuff will Burn!

  • How much sea salt to you use with that, just any sea salt right?

  • the rule of thumb is:

1/4 teaspoon non-iodized salt per 8 ounces of WARM water. Mix well.

  • I bike alot as well, but never thought about using my water bottle as a neti pot...

    Hmmm...

    ....Hmmmm...

    ?

Yep, I might just try it in the morning!

  • I use a plant waterer

  • Waht fertilizer works BEST for your nose holes?

  • Thanks for saving us money.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!!!!!!!!

  • I use a plain plastic throw away cup and kosher salt for my Neti pot. I just push the top of the cup together, until it forms a point at one end with out breaking, and ta-da! Just just the point to pour it in your nose. No sense in paying 20 or more bucks for those things.

  • I use the same method. However, my nostrils are too small to allow for the spout of the water bottle to fit. So, I use a regular drinking straw fit into the spout as an extension that not only provides a more level pouring angle, but also fits into my nostril. Use caution when inserting the straw into the nostril opening and either pour, or gently squeeze the bottle for added water pressure.

  • ok, it's a good way of saving money, but.. isn't it a bit unhygienic, i mean isn't it hard to clean the thing you normally drink out off?

  • I run mine in the dishwasher every few days to keep it clean and I no longer drink out of my "neti bottle".

  • I reckon you could take it even further and use a nozzled Poland Spring bottle, step it up even more and use a generic local brand spring water bottle that comes with a nozzle on it, you could even squeeze it upward I'm guesing!...as long as you tip forward and clear it out afterward.

  • Okay, I've seen enough Neti Pot videos for one day.

  • @Machetazo1 Hahah, I got a laugh out of this comment. I saw enough myself!

  • @Ascension1SK

    ???

  • @kismadzag I got good chuckle at Machetazo's comment, "Okay, I've seen enough Neti Pot videos for one day".

  • This is the reason why I love youtube! Thanks for saving me some money and time! Yay!

  • Just tried it, then my daughter tried it, then my son did... each with our own sports bottles and it works! thanks!

  • curtisincorinth, you guys are like the Simpsons lol!

  • it doesn't even need to be a bottle...pouring water from a cup will work too if you can aim right which still isn't very hard

  • iodized or table salt will BURN! Sea Salt somehow is milder and gentler on the nose.

  • @imapodaddy Yeah seasalt is alot better and water bottle is cheaper but to late

  • did i hear u say sea salt? i dont get it,. i know you cant use ioized salt, so wat kind?

  • Sea salt doesn't contain iodine... you can just buy sea salt at any supermarket in the spices aisle usually

  • if it was a finger id pick my nose with it

  • As long as the nozzle fits in the nostril like a neti pot. Thanks for the idea.

  • Thank you, i love saving money, i didnt want to spend, here it is 28.00 for a pot....

  • Hi, nice vid! I was wondering, what is the solution ratio. I would like to try this, but I don't know how to make my own solution... like what type of salt is needed or anything else.

    Thanks for the help.

  • 1% is the recommended ratio. Apx 3/4 tsp to 1 cup of lukewarm water. Hope this helps!

  • thats cool .., does it help??

  • I was thinking about that, if you can just use any bottle.
