Hey Sean, don't know how active you've been lately on Youtube, but as far as this bass line goes, I've about nailed, except for the bit during the verse where you do the quick run at the end of each measure. I can tell what notes you are playing, but its so fast that I can't find the optimal fingering to make it more possible to do. Assistance please, sir!

There is no secret to his tone. He's using an Ibanez SR506, GHS Boomers, EQ set flat. It's all in his hands

Ive got just about every part down EXCEPT the little diddly you do throughout the verses, 1:14 for example. I just cannot seem to play what you are playing. It's not like it's the most difficult part, and I can clearly see what you are doing, it just doesn't sound right coming from my bass, hopefully I'll get it soon : )

most of the time yes. but the SR series has Passive Barts but an ACTIVE preamp. its a great bass.

Yes, I am aware he is the bass player for Redemption, no one is above being critiqued. As the saying goes, to err is human. Maybe he was going for that sound, but to me it is awkward. I gave him more praise than critiquing his work, in case you did not catch that.

The bass part is easly my favourite part of that song. Normally I don't pay special attention to the bass, but with Redemption I actually listen to the songs for it. Great, clean playing. The vocalist isn't my cup of tea, but I've said before, I think he could be a lot more risky instead of staying in his comfort zone, because the vocals department just sounds too stale and emotionless in the grand scheme of things.
