I was an HC skin when I was 16, I have always drunk and enjoyed this band and everything from the Business to Minor Threat.Back in the 80's I had 2 good Xedge mates, who didnt care that I drank, as long as I didnt shove it in their face, and I was a good friend to them. And vice versa with the Xedge thing. Its about respecting each others choices, and loving the music.Xedge HC wernt all about 'being straight' alot of good wisdom and common sense came from it too.
i listen to the same music as, pretty much the the same personality as you, but i smoke pot. it makes me feel. good, im not a burnout n im pretty smart, so FUCK YOU if ya call me a dopehead cause theres nothin wrong with me smokin a bong
Great band, Classic album that stands the test of time & still sounds as good today as it did back then.!!! Had the good fortune to be able to hang out with Pat Dubar a couple of times when he was in Mindfunk...awesome memories.!!!
@the4holloways Agree. I'm a man of the early 80s. U.C. was among my favorites. I miss those days, too, but there are some really good bands out there. I don't like the 80s bands too much, the one's I really liked then, today prancing around the stage in their 50s, even 60s. Nothing wrong with that, it just rubs me wrong for some reason. The culture, commercialism, and live concerts are changes that are hardest for me, and is why punk, in a way, really did DIE in the mid-80s.
Uniform Choice is the high water mark of punk rock. They best captured all the fury and rawness and focus of the emotions that one feels in the modern world of image over substance.
@stemarotta Ya. Youth of Togay is cool. Supposedly there are quite a few of "those" bands. Fagnostic Front is one I've heard of, but never found any music. Black Fag is another, but they're not playing songs that sound like other songs. I think they play all originals. Gayrilla Buscuits' Hung Queens Can Suck It is a really good album in all honesty. Whether or not those bands are serious about what they're saying or if it's a joke is up to the listener to decided though.
@davidpatricklinney Ya, I know who Limp Wrist is. They're cool. Lengua Armada(Martin Sorrondeguy's label) has some really good bands. I have friends in Sin Orden from Chicago. Check them out. Super cool stuff.
I don't think so, Minor Threat has a unique style, the Ironic thing about punk music is that every band has their own sound, but it's really easy music to play.
@kingxskippy Ive played punk when I was a kid and it aint that easy...well .....especially after 3 forty ouncers and some vodka./.....and I still hear Minor threat in this song....but MT waS MUCH better
I bought this record when I was 13 because it looked cool... Now I'm 37 years old and it's still my favorite album of all time.... And they were badass live too... They threw 5 gallons of salsa and a bucket of tortilla chips into the crowd in Reseda right before the first song... Needless to say, the pit was slippery as hell...
