You don't know much about music or recording I'm guessing. There's no way his voice is off key anywhere because this was recorded after auto-tune was invented. Any song you will ever hear on the radio is auto-tuned now. Even Ludacris and shit. A manually placed auto-tune makes the voice sit on the pitch and decibel level perfectly so it kind of soars above everything else. And even if it isn't auto-tuned, no producer in his right mind would let something off key out of his studio.

it is emo, emo ultimately developed in two real ways, the indie scene with bands like american football who left remnants like dashboard, than screamo, real screamo like saetia, neil perry, love lost but not forgotten, joshua fit for battle etc.... it really has alot of roots in traditional emo, its a music predominantly founded in melodies, vibrant and kind of whiny and clean toned.
