  • @robitaillefan20 LOL . . . wow, that makes 10,000,001 people who were at Woodstock . . . must have been REALLY crowded . . . surprised New York State didn't break off and sink into the ocean . . .

  • Groovy!!!! Far Out!!!!

  • then when he came out with Caravansara album, in that less then adequate sound venue San Diego sports arena... We were all with santana trying to find Mike cause they had him sit high, and they were all off, we were in the audience try to be with Carlos to get back in the jam...great fuck'n days for live music, I'm here to tell you!

  • This band was santana's best then Caravansara then in mid 70"s it was Bob Marley. I usta sit there after santana played in San Diego and watch them tear down equipment thinking minutes ago they wer just here. They wer the happening late 60's to mid 70"s. Man! i would love to turn back the hands of time.

  • @lokoborracho yo digo que tienes oidos de artillero

  • HABIA COMUNION PARA HACER ESA MUSICA .

  • ESA CANCION ES UNA MISA SAGRADA !

  • @drrtymac you're born in an era in which you can experience parts of every eras at the click of a button, these are fantastic times, but it is hard to grasp the value of the present, you'll appreciate it more in few years, trust me

  • Thought I saw Greg Allman in the background.. ?? From about 3:40 to 3:50? What do ya think?

  • @YankeeClippa wasn't him.

  • Thought I saw Greg Allman in the background.. ??

  • So.

    The original is Babatunde Olatunji's - Jin-Go-Lo-Ba.

  • Cette video date, merci a l'internaute .... souvenir... souvenir ...

  • Carlos with a Les Paul here. Great times when Carlos was rockin a Gibson back in the 60s and 70s

  • Nice psychedelic tune. :)

  • this is "Santana"; not sure why you list just list Shrieve and Carlos; Rolie, Carabello, Schon and the whole gang were there (except for Chepito I just noticed). Thanks for posting tho. Love when Shrieve kicks it up at 1:26

  • @RainmanCT In his place, was Thomas (aka Coke) Escovedo. I believe. According to the booklet that came with The Best of Santana album, Areas was apparently hospitalized at the time with a brain tumor.

  • That's about a 17 year old Neil Schon on guitar there.

  • michael shrieve ,he was very handsome ,I will love him forever

  • I was 24 when Woodstock happened. That was THE MUSIC, man!! Today, all they make is boom, boom, boom...and...talk, talk, talk. They call it rap, hip-hop, or whatever...apparently alot of people like it. I ain't one of 'em. This is (was) MUSIC!! Always will be. '60's and '70's music will go on forever!! That other c(rap) won't even be a memory in 50 years, but this music is still...THE BOMB!! 40 years later!!

  • @mpm111144 You are absolutely correct dude !

  • @mpm111144 I agree with you!!! This music will be with me till the end and will last as long as it is played, new fans everyday, how great music is received ,no generation separation !

  • Comment removed

  • @mpm111144

Rap and Hip-hop has existed for at least 30 years. I guess we will listen to for a long time...

  • @mpm111144 lol what you sayin man, i agree that 60s and 70s music is so great, but you aint knowing nothing about hip hop. or rap.you do not know that the foundations of the genre laid profoundly in 70s music like soul, and this rock music played by santana, highly contributed also to the emergence of hip hop. You cant like all hip hop songs, but try to get into it and you 'll hear good vibes.

    peace

  • I was fortunate enough to see the Santana band in the summer of 1968 before Bill Graham "discovered" them and they rocketed to stardom at Woodstock. They were great of course, but they only got better and better, as this video shows. They were SO hot.

  • But unfortunately you see the drummer even not at all. And I think that he is a musicien qui ne peut pas être nié ici.

  • Great Recording For the time, and the Band at this time was awesome. I first saw Santana in 73 and have seen them at least 25 times sine over the years and he and his band is always unbelievably good.

  • jingo jingo ba

    great! i love this version

  • wonderful!!

  • i just love the way neal comse out of nowhere with that blistering solo!!!!!! killer!!!!!!!

  • The recording is tremendous you can hear every jingle, rythm and percusion beat. And then at the end Neal Schon ....wow

  • I wonder who's the guy that plays the drums behind the timbale. Looks like Ray Barreto. Could it be? Chepito Areas isn't present.

  • I love the guy in the front row, rockin' out and recording the show.

  • @soltisimba with a C 60 cassette...

  • The best band of all the time.

    Amazing

  • Greg Rolie plays the amazing hammond organ on this outstanding track from Santana First album totally - brilliant !

  • Neal was only 16 years old! And Santana is amazing too, of course.

  • you could tell they're all trippin ...... lol

  • CLASSIC

  • what a time this was. everyone I knew went to Woodstock to See Santana.

  • y did michael leave or get kicked out of santana??

  • RanetkiFan,

    Vey well said.

  • is this performance on cd or record?

  • Santana at his very best, what an amazing band

  • if you watch the Woodstock 69 video, and then you look at this, he ages ALOT

  • Santana on drugs >>>>>> Sober Santana

  • drugs almost killed him. . .

  • He almost killed himself, with drugs..

  • so what-we're doing that everyday with prescriptions-he's an artist and his talent and vision leaves us a richer world-stop judging people for their shortcomings-I'm sure you've got a few of your own.

  • Poder Latino!!!

  • tan precioso como siempre no ma!!! el mejor baterista!!!!

  • Mezcallin and Santana the only way to fly

  • Como me gusta Cielo ese quilombo mmmmmm siiiiiiiii!! RO de asombroooooooooooooo!!

  • 1:10

Here sits the greatest rhythm section in history

  • Poor Neil was just waitn for a bus but he nailed at the end. Nobody rocks like Carlitos. Glad I was there to be blown away in more than one sense. Every new group was NEW. There were very few copies.

  • the guy at 3:54 looks like he's recording it :)

  • LSD

  • fan bloody tastic

  • thats awesome, but nothing can be as good as woodstock 69.... R.I.P HENDRIX :(

  • can someone just remind me. How old would Neil Schon be when this was filmed?

    Boy, that's a tiny stage!

  • I think hes like 17. he joined them when he was only fucking 15 or so.

  • I'm so glad I was around during those days. It was like drowning in a sea of perfect sound.Talent was falling from the sky.

  • I am so envious! I feel like I was born in the wrong era :( The vibe back then seemed so perfect. I wish I coulda been a part of it. thx, anna.

  • @drrtymac That is a great way to admire this era. I would not have traded an extra 10 years onto my life, to have missed this era of music, pop and human culture. This era is what has made into whay I am today. I feel badly for this generation, as they never had or will have any of this. They live in such a ridiculously politically correct and paranoid world. I wish some college would bring back the riots and protests. There is too much wrong with people today and the way we live

  • @drrtymac The vibe back then WAS PERFECT,music was sooo kick ass and everywhere you went ,we were so lucky,we never take that for granted, believe me!

  • @drrtymac I am part of that era and vibe ... so good of you to acknowledge it. It was a wonderful time in so many ways! You're onto it - WELCOME!

  • @drrtymac YOU TOO HUH!!!

  • Carlos Santana el gran maestro de la guitarra, el mejor y es mexicano ay nomas.

  • What does Jingo mean?

  • mexican guitarrist yeah

  • WOW..... Michael Shrieve kicks ass........

  • Damn right!

  • I love crowded stages with too many instruments. Looks like a subway platform

  • your right, thats funny shit!!

  • gotta love 70s hair

  • This drummer plays in seattle every mon. night at Toast. Incredible still.

  • Yeah, Spellbinder. And Michael Shrieve's son, Sam has just put out his first album, "Bittersweet Lullabies."

  • man to see mike on the drums to see d brown on the bass, and greg rollie, neil shon wow, talk about, taking me back and chipito too yes this was when he was real ill, love to see this band ,one more time baby.

  • Carlos looks w-a-a-a-s-s-t-e-d.

This is when Chepito was extremely ill and had been temporarily replaced by Coke Escovedo -- against the wishes of the rest of the band. No one liked him except for Carlos. This was the beginning of the end for this version of the [original] group.

  • Hello. I'm from Nicaragua and I didn't know this version of Chepito being ill, anyways. He says all the time that Carlos was a thief and that was the reason for the end of that group. Unfortunatelly Chepito is kind of nuts now and he cries whenever he remember those times infront of friends . So I don't know what to believe, I'm just 25 lol. It's sad to see him like that.

  • And who is the other guitarist next to Carlos? That Neil Schon from Journey!!

  • yeah the doors are behind i think i saw jim and ray... or maybe it was john lennon jk

  • Santanas pink sweater and long hair looks really cool here hehe

  • Damn - what a great song

  • sorta simelar to soul sacrifice ina way!

  • I don't get it. The dude on the big drum is fantastic...total Santana sound...where's his name?

  • Comment removed

  • @frozencove If you mean the guy playing the big conga drums, his name is Michael Carabello. He was one of the original percussionists for the group.

  • ck out 17 yr old neal schon

  • ¡¡¡¡que pulenta!!!!

  • It would be great if the guys could get back together again for one last concert gig.

  • jesus carlos tore it up at the end

  • Jing-Lo-Ba. Olatunji.

  • tremendo carlos...sin duda lo mejor de latinoameria lo mejor... que soda ni que la madre...santana lo mejor de latinoamerica a nivel mundial
