Each capoeira school is different. Some focus on stylish moves, others focus on more of the fighting aspect. jmckaskle's comment is absolutle BS. Regional is pretty non-existent? Almost all Capoeira schools teach Regional these days and Capoeira as a fight DOES exist, watch other Marcus Vinicius vids if you want proof. As for paabling, what you said was pretty ignorant. Any master of Capoeira could beat an average BJJ fighter aswell, it depends on how and what they train.

Yes, thats it, you are right. Everything depends on the fighter not the style. So every styles are good, but can be used bad. I saw capoeiristas defeating muay thai fighters, but I saw fights the other way round.

On you tube I keep reading about axe Capoeira being the fight rather than the game. From what I have read so far that is the difference between fun dancing and self-defence. Where can I see Capoeira "the fight"? I hope I have understood all the comments on youtube correctly.

I would also like to see the "fight" Capoeira. Gimme a link if you find something. This fighter actually looked like a kickboxer and his opponent was rather weak. I cannot jugde the efficiency of Capoeira from such a fight.

i train with vinny and hes actually more kick boxer then capoeira.... haha i wouldnt say this to his face though cause he would probably kick my butt(hes actually trained with chute box in the past)

Capoeira the fight as seen today is mostly a fiction. What groups like Axe capoeira do is throw a few compliant kicks, maybe a few open palm strikes, then do some bad grappling for a few seconds, then on to the next players. Capoeira as a fight doesn't exist anymore because the time for it has passed. The closest you will find is capoeira angola, which holds on to the tradition, and the group Filhos de Bimba that play Mestre Bimba's regional, which is pretty non existent outside the their group.

My god!, cant you see?!?!?! A capoeirista has defeated a non-capoeirista, so think it over again. I've seen many videos where capoeiristas defeated non-capoeiristas, some of them with knock out. Watch "CapoKurts movie"(07:10version)

Or "capoeira mma", the first one(on my pc), and much more.

This "capokurts" thing is tae kwon do, in tae kwon do competitions where, for some reason, he's the only one using a headgear. The only mildly decent uses of capoeira in fights are in other videos, the "20 second ko", and one from some sweedish allstyle competition. Both are far from ideal to show a big potential for capoeira as a MA. The ones from axepezao are also somewhat good, but it's mostly throwings, the guy throws more punches than kicks and barely swings.
