so what's the problem...lemme explain. the doctor is a hologram; photons,light,force fields et cetera. he apparently is also a doctor onboard a starship. but apparently he has some level of sentience. great so does a dog. now kids when your hologram starts ranting and raving and claiming he is in love with 7 and sings opera you break out Norton utilities and wipe his mind like a dirty floor. he heals the sick and wounded period. and why isn't 7 wearing a uniform?
@nerdlymike 7of9 does not wear a uniform because she is not a member of starfleet. Only starfleet personnel (and cadets) wear starfleet uniforms. Generally civilians (which she is) wear whatever they want.
@shortc5005 i distinctly remember an episode where I saw Neelix wearing a starfleet uniform. Now unless he took a test on the weekend I think he is not Starfleet personnel.
What also bugs me is that after years of being freed from the Collective she is still quartered in a cargo bay like a set of tools or something. They can travel faster than light but can't make a smaller regeneration unit to fit inside some quarters? Please cut her some slack and treat her like a human already.
@nerdlymike The borg known as "One" however was a combination of 24th AND 29th century technology due to an accident with the transporter, some of 7of9's nanoprobes, and the doctors mobile emitter.
The regenerator however was an integral part of him, and would be unable to be used by 7of9 after his death.
Borg technology, is hard for the federation to even understand half of the time, let alone duplicate or miniaturize.
The eventual goal however for 7of9 was to be free from regenerating

As for 7of9 having to be in the cargo bay, borg systems outside of a cube are very dependant on each other. They could not cut away a single regeneration unit and the whole 4 (or 5) piece unit would not fit in quarters.
