It might still be possible for 60's music to exist in some way or form by going back to it. The newer ways of composing music is awful. It sounds really bad and I remix and master music. I don't do a thing to it if it's got bad arrangements I mean the female singer covering up Robins voice. Did this female some how have a connection with the overall meaning?

Robin does a great job on this one. Some of the other stuff that featured his brother Barry originally for me don't work with Robin singing them, at least the ones where he is singing an octave down. But they are his songs too so who I am to say he can't do his own songs. But this one is beautifully done.

Robin did a great job with this song. His band blended well with his voice and the other way around. Barry may have done the original version in his distinctive style but definitely in this particular performance Robin owned the song.
I like how at about 45 seconds into the video, they flash to Robins right. That is where Maurice always stood during concerts. If there were any doubts about who this song was for, they made it clear with that shot of the camera. Also very clever how they put Robins face where Maurice stood, like they were showing that it is being performed for Maurice. RIP Mo
Thank you for posting, I saw this clip when it was first came out and couldn't stop crying as I felt it was for Maurice. There was alot of controversy as the original was Barry on lead vocals and it was for Andy. IMHO,I never felt Robin was trying to take away from the orignal but wanted to sing this special song for Maurice, his twin, as he was now with Andy. I love both versions and will always hold Maurice and Andy in my heart...wish they were here!!
I totally agree and yes it was written for Andy originally but we all know that when this was sang at this time that Robin was mainly thinking of Mo who had recently passed away but I am SURE in his heart Andy was also right up there.
I have never seen a video for this. And it came out in 1989 AFTER Andy's passing for which it was originally written. This was off the ""ONE"" album that was released in 1989 and is one of TWO songs written for Andy - the other one was "TEARS", also a moving song but not so much as this one at lesat to me.

I personally think robin gibb has probably one of the greates voices in popular music. And in that sense, he has been greatly underated. Does anyone knows the song "remembering" from the album "Trafalgar"? One of the greatest performances ever (in my opinion)
Music gets no better than the Bee Gees plus Andy. Im happy I have been alive in the Bee Gee era because this music of 2007-just isn't like their music.
I think this is Robins "Alone" style and I kinda like it for him. Much better than singing Jive Talking and To Love Somebody. But thats just my opinion. We all have them about the guys. I prefer Barrys version of this (and I know it includes the others too) but mainly Barry singing. But still Robins sounds good too.
The original of this is on Bee Gees "One" album, that is dedicated to Andy. They wrote two songs on it for Andy, this one (which album version is soooo haunting & at end hear Barry crying out Andy's name). And "Tears" is the other song on the album written for Andy. I personally think robin gibb has probably one of the greates voices in popular music. And in that sense, he has been greatly underated. Does anyone knows the song "remembering" from the album "Trafalgar"? One of the greatest performances ever (in my opinion)

You hit the nail on the head. His voice is incredible. Whenever I hear "I Started a Joke" I get chills. Amen to ALL you said.

Music gets no better than the Bee Gees plus Andy. Im happy I have been alive in the Bee Gee era because this music of 2007-just isn't like their music.

I think this is Robins "Alone" style and I kinda like it for him. Much better than singing Jive Talking and To Love Somebody. But thats just my opinion. We all have them about the guys. I prefer Barrys version of this (and I know it includes the others too) but mainly Barry singing. But still Robins sounds good too.

This song (original) is most powerful when sang by Bee Gees in "One", and any modification is meaningless.

The original of this is on Bee Gees "One" album, that is dedicated to Andy. They wrote two songs on it for Andy, this one (which album version is soooo haunting & at end hear Barry crying out Andy's name). And "Tears" is the other song on the album written for Andy. One the "One" albun are both songs. And at the end of "Wish You Were Here", listen to Barry - it brought me to tears & still does.

I agree that it was actually from Robin for Mo but........ I was just stating a fact that it was written by the brothers **for Andy** not long after his passing. It was not in anyway to take away from Mo. Sorry I didn't mention it and if you were offended.

Wonderful post just love to wacth all the Brothers wether it Be Andy,Berry Robin or Mo thay are all good at what thay do we lost two very specal ones in Andy and Mo when thay left but thay are not forgoten RIP Andy & Mo
