i would be way more concerned about genetically modified foods.. all the shit we eat now days that no body talks about plus stress on top of all thats why we got more cancer, heart attacks, astma u name it
Having a glass of wine or beer everyday is not heavy drinking - some people get kicks telling others how to live. Provided people can pay their medical bills when they are sick, and do not drive or endanger others who really cares what other people do? If you personally don't like drinking abstain or move to an Islamic country!
My God, I've been a heavy drinker half of my life and never knew of it! I mean, it's like being an alcoholic doesn't it? I'm so ashamed. I used to think my big glass of wine every night was harmless, never interfered with my work, social relations or anything else in my life, but now i know i have a serious problem. I even was foolish enough to believe genetic predisposition, metabolism and body complection made people get affected by alcohol differently. But come on, cancer sounds really scary.
@pepone2427 Yea, cancer does sound scary. It doesn't mean you will definitely get cancer, it means that chronic heavy drinking increases a person's chances. If you think about it, over-consumption of anything is bad for our bodies.
As for alcoholism, not everyone who drinks heavily develops an addiction. If you can go a day or two without alcohol and no withdrawal, you're not addicted. My point with the video was to make people aware how much they drink to scale back if needed.
@Joker2kill2 Well, I hate to say if the shoe fits...Those definitions come from studies of the effects of heavy drinking. Look in the methods section and this is how it's defined. It's a clinical definition. Yes a lot of people fit this pattern. Such as it is.
are you sure you know about drinking? 90% of my city must me heavy drinkers if having one beer a night is heavy drinking. We all must have a problem then.
it's a good thing I'm not a Heavy Drinker. my neighbor is a heavy drinker, recently she side swiped another neighbor's car and fled the scene. the police and insurance eventually found her but she claims that she's not a heavy drinker. I remember she almost ran me over while I was going to check my mail box, when I actually spoke with her a while before the incident and she was "out of it" beat red eyes, the slurring of her words, etc. she is going to kills somebody in the near future.
@Pixiebabe Yeah, sadly too many people underestimate how much they drink and it impairs them especially when they drive. It would be a shame for someone to lose their life for her to realize she has a problem.
Great information. Funny how we live in a society that rarely spells out or defines overdrinking. I will definately watch my intake as i too want to remain healthy with a youthful appearance.
