How to record sound with Hypercam

For some reason I can't seem to control the "Stereo mix" options. I have turned off "Sound off"

Although I can record, so thanks for that! But the sound quality is terrible, I've changed the options under "Sound" as well.

This will not work with me. I open volume master control and go to properties, and then I check the recording box. The options that come up are: "Line In" "Rear Mic" and "Microphone".

I have them all checked, and Hypercam is set to record sound, but still... nothing.

I've googled for solutions too, not luck.

you know the icon on the bottom right toolbar that looks like those things that people talk through to make their voices louder (not a mic. the other one) well when you click on it once, a mini slider for the main vloume comes up. But when you double click on it, the master volume comes up
