  • hey, got a better idea! kick out mister hope and change obama. He has nearly destroyed the U.S.A. as bad or worse than Carter. disgrace

  • Bush and Cheney should be tried for treason. And, so should their administration employees. And, as for Barry Sotoro, no quarter: this Kenyan needs to be tried for multiple crimes.

  • watch?v=68_3rjp0Rkw

  • wise warning about future ceasars. Obama is no messiah

  • Fuck the UN!

  • Ed it goes much deeper than Bush and Cheney ...We have a shadow government no matter who is in office. They do as they are told.. The Elite run this country now and big corp.

  • No, you have mentioned Noam Chosky, Halliburton, Bush/Cheney, a "corporate republic" and so on. All I was asking was that if you want to disucss the Iraq War, then that's great. If you would like to discuss the merits of Noam Chosky, that's okay too. This isn't a debate, it's a discussion. If you would like to discuss a topic, I'm in. I asked you to just narrow it down to one. maybe you're too smart for me. However, I'm interested only in one topic at a time.

  • @stevedrums Sorry. I am saying Its all part of the same topic. I doubt very much that I am too smart for you. America and Britain did not attack Iraq as legitimate action. You questioned the legitimacy of the UN, based on the Food for Oil scandal which caught my attention. I said that the corruption that led to the Iraq conflict is not justified by the corruption in the UN. At face value Iraq looks legit, if you scratch the surface, the whole facade cracks. Its an old, old game

  • @stevedrums "We believe no more in Bonaparte's fighting merely for the liberties of the seas than in Great Britain's fighting for the liberties of mankind. The object is the same to draw to themselves the power, the wealth and the resources of other nations." Thomas Jefferson. ...Even long ago the reasons behind wars were the same, profit!

The story is always that its to bring democracy or because of threat, when you boil it down those ingredients were never there to start.

  • So, I'm assuming you want to talk about Iraq? I'd be happy to do so. Let's just take one topic at a time. Otherwise, it becomes muddled.

  • I know all about Noam Chosky and no his positions. Tell you what: Once you read some varying opinions and not just the far-left mantra, then I'll be happy to discuss these issues with you. However, Halliburtons relationship with Iraq (and the White House) began long before Bush/Cheney were elected. I'm sure you are aware of that. Also, bear in mind that I am not a Bush/Cheney lackey or supporter necesarilly. However, the war with Iraq was not illegal and any utterances supporting that are wrong.

  • @stevedrums I always think its funny that the middle class American, is so easily lead. You dismiss Chomsky as being far left, defending what you think is democratic free market capitalist state, while being completely oblivious to the fact that America is a corporate republic,a plutocracy not a functioning capitalist democratic state, with a left and right. The fact that you can't identify the longstanding relationship between KBR-Haliburton and the white house as a problem proves the point.

  • @TheFallenWon You know, I talk English. I'm not in the least interested in the country-club, elitiest language of words like "plutocracy" and the like. If it makes you feel beter by using these terms which have 2,000 different meanings and definitions - depending on who you talk to - then that's fine for you. However, it bores the hell out of me and doesn't get anyone anywhere. If you would like to take one subject at a time, I'd be happy to do so. Turning it into stew won't forward the debate.

  • @stevedrums Perhaps your debating skills are lacking, since the topic has not changed.

I countered your statement suggesting that corruption was not an answer to corruption. You are attacking the definition of words, facts and sources with conjecture and opin rather than facts and evidence.

Its ironic that in the same breath you are defending the conflicts of interest and illegalities committed by multi-billionaire, Yale educated "elitists" by attacking my argument as being elitist?

  • @stevedrums In actuality contrary to your statement, the U.S. and British Invasion of Iraq and the subsequent conflict violated a host of various international laws, as well as repeatedly infringed upon the Geneva convention. If the action in question violated law then by definition it is an illegal act. Funny that the US found the UN's legitimacy sufficient enough to validate a reason for "war", yet conveniently discarded that same legitimacy when it failed to work in their favour.

  • Future Caesars? Ed hasn't heard about elections I guess. How'd that war on Iran go? I missed it.

  • It must be nice living in the bubble that these folks live in. Anyone who reads the Volcker Report will realize how corrupt and inept the UN has been and continues to be. However, people like this who just don't "get it" continue to espouse the same nonsense they always have - rarely with anything but hysteria and basement bloggers to back up their claims.

  • @stevedrums Are you trying to suggest that the corruption of the DOD, CIA, BP, KBR and Haliburton, Blackwater, and a long list of others is justified because of instances of corruption in the U.N, specifically Food for oil scandal? Are you a frequent "O'hannity" and O'rielly veiwer ?

  • @TheFallenWon I do watch O'Reilly but am not a fan of Hannity. You seem to spit out a long laundry of accusations. I'd be interested in your sources. Not sure what BP and Halliburton has to do with iraq, but I'm sure you'll try and educate me. If you wish to engage with me, that's fine. However, if you do, you will be mature, polite and respectful. If yuo don't think you can handle that, then we'll agree to disgaree now and call it a day. Deal?

  • @stevedrums I don't mean to be rude, but if you don't know what B.P. and Haliburton/KBR have to do with Iraq then unfourtunately I don't know where to begin. You'll have to do a lot of reading: BlackWater by Jeremy Scahill, Hegemony or Survival by Noam Chomsky, Modern Warfare by Richard Connaughton, See No Evil by Robert Baer, Sleeping with the Devil by Robert Baer, Merchant of Death by Farah and Brown, PBS: Frontline has a number of online programs, AP, Washington Post, BBC, etc...

  • Should Obama be impeached too, since he's continuing the war?

  • Quite right. But as Obama is no better we see that both sides of the American Establishment are as corrupt as each other.

So even though justice screams the necessity of it, Bush will not be held accountable,

    Except before Almighty God.

And foirt war crminals liuke Bush and Obama HELL AWAITS

  • Ed, Ted Knight was funny. You are not Ted Knight.

  • "Future Caesars"...I wonder what Ed would have to say about 0bama now? History -- mark my words -- is going to assiduously study this obsessive, pathological Bush/Cheney hating. This is not to say that that the Bush/Cheney Administration was perfect. but this kind of extremist rhetoric is going to be judged harshly by history, I am certain of this.

  • @waltonmt Is that what you wear? LOL!

  • ed for president! can you imagine? peace and love every day. i already feel safer.

  • I like Ed Asner better when he played Pope John XXIII.

  • He's never been the same since Mary turned him down

  • God Bless Ed - (Watching the Lou Grant series now by way of hulu)

So our commander in thief bush takes a little trip to see his buddies, the Saudis.. wants to crawl on his belly for a little more oil. He's rebuffed politely. The king says: nahh.. we're producing enough... so the Prez crawls back home on his belly.. knowing the WHOLE time that it's not about supply and demand, but about the futures players who are trying desperately to recoup losses from the gov't caused mortgage scandal - ugh

  • @gop4usa12 Why do conservatives continue to believe that the presidents sex life should be the business of Congress and the entire nation? It's not an impeachable offense so why do you keep harping on it? You have your own people who cant keep their pants zipped, like Mark Sanford, John Ensign, Mike Duvall, Larry Craig, Ted Haggard, Robert Allen & David Vitter. There's also that pesky thing about child porn & molestation involving Mark Foley, Dan Crane, Daniel Thompson, Jon Matthews & etc.

  • typical american white trash talk

and oh yeh this comes from a european

  • Start wearing red now for all the debt your hero Obama is giving us for years to come Assner.

  • rofl says u

wasnt it thx to bush that u got bankrupt he is the one that started spending all ur tax money on weapons for the iraq war

    fkin immoral war

  • Yeah, the Iraqis deserved Saddam and his raping sons. You can watch some of his torture videos on youtube to entertain yourself with. You'll feel much more moral then.

  • @gop4usa12 Dude. You need to do a reality check. No one, at any time, anywhere, has any country spent as much money as the US did under the previous administration. Who didn't bitch about the budget til now? Who didn't say a word when it was sent into the trillions? Who took an $80 billion surplus and turned it into a $1.3 trillion deficit, the highest in history? Whose policies created the worst financial crisis, stock market crash, and home mortgage crisis in 80 years & 10% unemployment?

  • @gop4usa12 Sorry. I rely on public records for information, not on the hysterical ranting of ideologues.

  • @carrotjuse- I notice your hometown is listed as San Francisco, carrotjuse. That explains a lot.

  • @waltonmt Thank you. Yes, San Francisco has always been known world wide for the intelligence and sophistication of it's residents.

  • @carrotjuse

Public records can be misleading. It's too bad you don't rely on the contents of the US Constitution to judge right from wrong.

  • @gop4usa12 The Constitution is a part of the public record I'm referring to. There is also the Geneva Convention and the UN Charter, among other documents, including several federal laws. They are all quite clear, yet you appear to believe they're misleading. That makes you a part of the problem. Therefore you are unable to discuss the subject rationally. Bye bye, gop.

  • @carrotjuse

Does the Geneva convention and UN Charter apply to terrorist organizations? And if you think Bush is a war criminal, you should also call upon the indictments of congressmen who voted for military action and voted to fund the war in Iraq. BTW; where does the constitution speak on this subject? Is it next to the part that says abortion is legal? If you're a constitutionalist, you're on the wrong side of the aisle.

  • Fuck Bush and Cheny

  • Bush is a complete lying piece of garbage!!!!!

  • I voted for Bush twice & the older Bush before him because I couln't vote for the social engineering liberals. I'm now sickened by what can be researced scientifically about 911. The whole flippin government at the decicion level is shown to be criminally treasonous. I've awakened to a different kind of world than I ever dreamed possible. If I wasn't dumbed down by the forced fluoridation in my water, I might figure something out & fight these traitors. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything.

  • man you are one stupid person voting for bush 4 times look where it brought you

  • By the way klote2314, how are those muslims working out for you in the Netherlands? ROFL!

  • impeachment is constitutional

  • do you know who funded and supported suddam... daddy bush... and rumsfeld and the boys..... they put him into power...... the US knew what he was doing for years and years and didnt do shit.... 911... was just an excuse... a smokescreen to get at control of the resources of oil... the US never gave a shit about the people of iraq or saddam

  • damn.... listen to your words... do you want to hang him too... watch him swing... are you able to listen to someone with a different opinion than yours without wanting to hang them.... lol... wow.... you don't seem very democratic to me... ?

    peace man....

  • Honestly you make me laugh you people who can't see what's going on, or should I say, don't want to see. Get out of your own country and look at what's going on in the world! It's not all about YOU! Your president has caused enough trouble for the rest of the planet. And sweeties....telling me to f#@% off or calling me an F@#@ing whatever isn't going to change it. Ed Asner has been around a lot longer than most of you and he's seen a lot of things. Try listening to him, he may just have a point.

  • HEY, I'm not wearing orange! All the prisoners in the county jail wear orange jump suits and flip flops! Is it OK if I wear OD with a camo pattern and boots?

  • Can't take the truth, can you? All you ridiculous Republican apologists are SO pathetic. You condone what's been done in our name the last 8 years? You need psychiatric help if you do.

  • Fuck George Bush and any asshole who doesnt want him impeached. All you punks talk big and love sucking Bush's cock, but talk is cheap, so just stand in line for your North American Union RFID chips like good little sheep. All Bush lovers, Obama or McCain supporters are cowards!! NO terrorists attacked the towers, fucking dicks, learn the facts. Impeach Bush now, or just wait til he declares martial law, whichever. Im sure plenty sheep will hail dictator Bush. Die please?

  • Fuck you ASSner. I lost respect for you when you started to defend criminals while demonizing there victims. Sick elitist rich fuck

  • What if we're in favor of the next election? Why can't we just vote and let the people decide?

  • I'm no big fan of George Bush but who the hell can give a crap about what some entertainer thinks.

These folks don't earn a living for being smart.

  • No but at least they've got the money to have their voice heard. Be fortunate that you've got citizens speaking for citezens and standing up to your tolatarian government...O h I forgot...Ignorance is bliss right?

  • Poor old decrepit Ed Asner. You would think that a half dozen, masked terrorists were behind him...forcing him to say this garbage while holding a knife to his throat! Of course Ed would love that. That would be his dream come true...to have throat cutting Muslim extremists run our country instead of our current president. It's a shame there isn't an impeachment process in place for washed-up actors. You should be wearing yellow instead of orange Ed...that's the prefered color of cowards.

  • What a fucking idiot. Bush is spying? Hasn't spied on me. I'll wipe my ass with your orange shirt you fucking weasle.

  • Wear orange to show your paranoia and your support for the terrorist bastards who are meeting their fate. Too bad Ed's mouth is bigger than his balls!

  • Clinton planned 9/11

  • nuts on my left and nuts on my right, the only way I can tell them apart is the shoes they wear. Get a life, soon there will be videos on here wishing he was back.

  • Isn't this the same Ed Asner who praises Castro? No surprise. Anti-war groups like World Can't Wait support Communism.

  • go ed...i agree 100%!!!
