  • Me Cousin :)

  • Love the handsome fella At 1:56

  • nice song... : ) greetings from Greece....

  • WOW! I was actually short of breath the first time I heard this song - and I still get goose bumps everytime I listen to it. I can't believe this didn't get selected for the Irish finals. I'm from Australia - and this is not just a song for Ireland, but for Europe and the world. In the space of 3 minutes, Gar has managed to capture everything about us that makes us human. What a beautiful song, and I am so sorry that you won't be there on the night. A huge loss. Keep up the mgic that you do well

  • I love this song! It's so cute and so real compared to all the over the top electronic crap that most Eastern Europeans entered. It would be lovely if a song like this won.

  • im watching days of our lives in uk, and im loving it

  • Nice song. Creates warm feelings :)

    Good luck to you!

  • UK vote for Ireland!!!

    and

    Ireland vote for uk

Everyone votes for their neighbour but we never do come on

    VOTE FOR EACH OTHER

  • Great song from an irish prospective but not from an international one unfortunatly, Would'nt do well in Moscow.

  • Sorry to find out this didn't get through. I'm off to look at the six that got through...again, and try to like one of them. Problem is I can't get your song out of my head now and it will be difficult to feel the same things for the other songs.

  • Gar, I could make some comments about the Boy's Club in RTE but I think you are well aware of what I'd say so won't teach me granny to suck eggs here. Your song is fantastic, I really liked it and will be sorry not to hear it next week on the show. Will be interested to hear what has been selected but could only guess why this won't be among them. Their loss, but hopefully not the end of the road for this lovely tune.

  • Were Lordi at all 'Eurovision'? I don't think so...

  • Hi everyone, unforetunately RTE have decided that this song is'nt suitable for the Irish Eurovision. However it has interest from other parties. I look forward to hearing what has gotten through.

  • Hard luck there...

    It's a very nice song.

I think the quality of submitted entries is too high for RTE to have just 6 songs in the national final.

There is an online petition about that over at:-

petitiononline [dot] com [slash] lamph [slash] petition [dot] html

It's mainly about the Lamph song... but in in the interests of all musicians who put time and effort into entering a song only to have it overlooked.

I'd definitely recommend you add your name...

  • Hey Gareth, what were they thinking?

Its strange because I still have a feeling you will be in the show some how, by way of some strange series of events or circumstance! Probably more my wishful thinking than anything pre-cognitive!

Anyway it's their loss and onwards and upwards for you!

I look forward to hearing about the other interested parties! Well done and keep us posted!

  • Did this get to the National Final. RTE are supposed to have announced the final 6 an hour ago but I cannot find confirmation yet on line.

    It is a GREAT song!!!!!!!

  • What a great song. I hope this gets to the National Final

  • really nice song .. would do well in eurovision

  • This song is just great and it must represent Ireland in Moscow!!! Please, send this and you would have my 12 points!!!

  • Do you have to swear? Kids are looking at this too. I think you should repost without the F word or your comment will prob be removed.

  • GREAT SONG & GREAT VIDEO 10 / 10

    Look forward to hearing more.

  • Message from: B McDonagh

I wish you every success with your beautiful song.

I hope the young Irish graduates who are in the UK who have not managed to get work and cannot get home right now, hear this song as they would not only feel inspired but perhaps not feel so alone.

    Congratulations and Good Luck Gareth.

  • Love this song........ fantastic stuff...... Hope you make it to the final on february 20th!!!!

  • If this song is chosen,Ireland will make the final this year

  • Good job Gar.

  • Don't forget to rate it everyone, login then click on the red stars below the video.

  • really great yeah

  • Very sensitive lyrics ... bravo Ireland! I love this song! Warmest regards from Greece

  • Hey Gar, well crafted song, sung with feeling, sticks in the head without being annoying, nicely folky, bitty rocky and should have a broad appeal. If you need a big man to riverdance in the background I'll join your backing troupe! It would be a refreshing change to have a performer in this competition who can really cut it live - like I know you can... good luck and I hope that someone sees sense enough to get you on to the show. You have put a smile on my face and a song in my head today!

  • I've just had another couple of listens before turning in. I'm becoming quite addicted to this track, top stuff Mr Nugent -it's a beautiful feel good song . A perfect antidote for these bleak times. I notice that WhyWhyWhy25 has not posted his {I'm pretty sure that kind of bombast must male} MySpace - but I'm dying to hear his "Superior talent".

  • I hope he has gone, his latest comment has gone, so I am hoping Gareth removed it and has hopefully blocked him. We can get back to the positives of this now!

  • Oh dear you are more mentally ill than I realised, I think for everyone's sake you need to be blocked from this. If you were such a success you wouldn't be spending time doing what you are doing here. I have sent a request to have you removed. Get help!

  • Quite irish...

  • Well said Aceltishman. Have you looked at Why-oh's comment for a rap band in the reading area, and another profile who is a drummer? There is some bitterness there methinks. It seems we have a blog terrorist amongst us, someone who uses anonymity as a shield. I would be very interested if why-oh can produce something better as I have a business which revolves around the music industry, who knows!

  • To whywhywhy25. You sound quite worried about the recession and what a country deems fit to spend money on for the enjoyment of the masses? Hence the why why why and the complaints about money being wasted on a global, annual event. I think you should be attacking all the Television broadcasters not individual artists. Honestly now, do you have any tracks I could listen to, you can send me a private message rather than post.

  • Hey Guys,

Really love the song, getting a bit of a buzz around here. Rugby AND Eurovision 2009...! What a year for the Irish!!!

  • Hi there. I would love to hear some of your songs and see you perform but I'd doubt very much I'll see or hear either. It is your right to have an oppinion as it is my right to delete yours. Thank you.

  • @number5bullisland I tell you if you saw Gareth perform it would blow your socks off! He is absolutely brillitant, I have seen him many times. A truly talented professional!

  • Oh "Why,why why25" please put your "Myspace " or whatever sight address up, so that we can hear your quality. Mr Nugent's song seems to fit and exceed the brief of Eurovision. It connects and is joyous, and a lot of people seem to really like it. Please direct us to your excellence. I'm a great fan of quality songwriting - so please give us the links.

  • Superb song. Great writing - wish we had Gareth singing it as the UK entry rather than the ........... One we have........

I love this song, just listened to it about 10 times on the trot aswell.

  • This song is beautiful and uplifting. It stirs memories and emotions we often forget we have. It would win the Eurovision without a shadow of a doubt.

You put your heart and soul into this song and it has truly paid off. Well done! I wish you every success.

  • Great as usual from you Gareth. When are you going to do the Album and let us hear what you're capable of.

This one took my breath away because I knew and lovedmost of the characters.

  • very moving +++++++++++

  • This a real grower. Ireland are back on form if this is your entry.

  • Yet another brilliant piece of work almost left unknown, thank the lord for youtube or we'd never get to hear the talent available in the world.

  • REALY FAB GREAT SONG AND PICS

  • Thank you so much for the comments. The lady who won Nollaig didn't get in the top 100 I believe. I 'm no good at sob stories by the way. Fingers crossed any way. And once again Thank you for the support. Gar.

  • 5 stars from me!

Lovely! The old-fashioned images are a really nice idea. The song is strong. U shud make the 6.

Btw, I saw Nollaig #1. Yer wan who won got the prize more for her back-story than her performances... Don't get me wrong, she was a good singer, but if talent were the #1 criteria, she would've been a worthy runner-up to you. -Just my opinion as a frustrated viewer who was not allowed vote!!! :)

By the way... did she get Nollaig #1 in Ireland, or even Nollaig #10... do u know?
