This is my one of favorites Metallica songs next to "Bleeding me, Until it sleeps, Hero of the day" i don't know but these 4 songs sounds very similiar for me.
If you don't like Metallica since Jason left, I can't see it being the major hole left by his absence. That's a joke.
Bob Rock said it best in SKOM. Metallica is a 3 piece band and noone will replace Cliff no matter how good. Jason, Rob(who I think is awesome) and if there's a next one are just another guy in the band
jason was the man, rob is good too, but lacks the presence charisma and personality. not to mention the history jason has, plus live backing vocals make a massive difference!!
It's cool that they play some odd stuff. They should concider something from St.Anger. The Unnamed Feeling for example. I know people are very quick at dissing that album, but it actually has some good stuff in it.
Those echo effects sounded immense! I could just imagine what that sounded like live. Can't wait to see the boyz in Toronto this October. Got my tickz.
They should play songs like this, Wasting my Hate, Escape, Through the Never etc. Metallica has alot of epic hidden gems within their albums. Btw, this sounded fuckin prime, don't know why they never play it. \,,/
for not playing it in a while, Metallica still nailed it!!!!! they played it soo beautifully! i think since they are playing alot of songs they haven't done in a while, can't be long before they play Call of Ktulu again!!!! or even songs from Load & ReLoad because those albums are sooo underrated but yet they still have such beautiful music in them. And also the first disc on Garage Inc. is overlooked alot. and is also has great songs
Awesome stuff. Ron and Kirk need to coordinate the backup vocals on this though, lol. Sounded like they were singing different vits (one would say "ear me" while the other says "see me" or "bite me")
Too fast!!!

@kirkhassan
that was S&M(1999), although this song does sound epic with that in the background.

They played a slightly sped up version of the song and for the record, Rob sings the way it was done on the studio track.

I prefer S&M version over this. Vocals are not as good and Lars plays like he's in a f*cking hurry.

One of my favourite songs ever. Love James vocals in this version.
But to me it seems that it's played too fast, thus it looses a little bit of its overwhelming power.
But it's still awesome!

Um who's Ron? You mean Rob right?
metpetnet 2 years ago
Maybe he thought of Ron Macgovney.
Cletus575 2 years ago
Ron McGovney is the first official bassist Metallica ever had when Lars and James were 18 years old.
Rob Trujillo is Metallica's newest/current bassist now that Lars and James are 45 years old.
