My cat had a sore like that in about the same place. The vet drained it and said it was prolly a spider bite. Where I live a lot of pet mammals get the same bite like my kitty had.
With recent changes in vet medicine, sending stuff to the lab is cost-prohibitive. Hell, you can buy a used microscope and several college textbooks for the price of one lab test. You have enough animals: learning the basics would really pay. Since you live close to Mexico, getting medicine is not an issue.

actually...the source i get them from picks out fucked up rabbits for feeders and sells the good ones for as pets, or less fucked up feeders...but...CREAM.
