  • I have not gone through all the comments, so: what is the accepted and politically correct reaction to the noise of breaking crockery? Polite ignorance? A couple of bills?

  • So, I take it your girlfriend/wife/"significant other" is a waitress with Parkinson?

I do hate it when people are someone is "happy" about someone else demise/failings since it simply reflects more on their own profound ineptness at existance than anything else, but I would kill them for it, their pointless moronic life is way worse of a punishment than anything we can imagine! ;)

  • I had no idea that I was such an asshole.

I'm just always glad it was not me. I looked at it as added

    surprise entertainment.

  • sounds kinky

  • I dunno, for me, the worst people are folks who call at 2 am to chat! One dickweed friend of my sister's did that to me once! I wanted to strangle him thru the phone! If you call ANYONE after 10 pm, it better be a goddamned emergency!

  • I worked in a cafe for a few weeks as a summer job when I was younger.

We had to pay for our breakages from our own wages. So yeah, calling out when someone drops a plate gets REALLY FUCKING ANNOYING after a while.

Oh and calls of 'Take more care in future' do not help. When you are rushed and whiney-ass customers are wanting food, taking more care is nigh on impossible.

    Accidents happen.

And don't even get me started on people who intentionally trip/knock you. Bastards.

  • Finally!!! I've been waiting for someone else to suggest the criminalization of low class, social herd behavior.

  • but but, it's British tradition to call someone a wanker when they drop a cup or plate :(

  • Now this scares me because some of the best nights out I have had were smashing plates in a Greek restaurant. Better watch out for a big bus outside next time in case they want to cart us off to Eastern Europe :-)

  • THANK YOU THANKYOU THANK YOU!!!!!!! i buss tables on the vegas strip and i Fucking Hate it when asshole pricks do that!

  • creative death sentences by athismo. waiting tables sucks, ive never done it but my room mate does, so i agree with you

  • I wholeheartedly agree.

  • lol but whoa why so intense?

  • why not?

  • Because it just seems like he was blowing it way out of proportion. You know like a woman going through menopause where it's nothing that a normal person would get upset about but they just think it was the worst thing that could have ever happened to them. I mean being dunked in a vat of piss 1000 times and then drowning in that piss isn't something that should occur in that situation. But it was still funny to hear

  • LOL im guilty of the clapping, i gotta admit the clapping is hilarious specially since the waiter has the face of "Oh fuck" come on I dont see why clapping while someone dropped a plate is bad

  • I always saw applauding the dropping and breaking of dishes as a way to break the tension, to say that it's okay and we all understand that accidents happen. If I'm mistaken, well, I guess I've learned something new.

  • @LeksServices as a bussier, trust me it really doesn't help, it only makes it worse. . . . . . you're forgiven though ;)

  • Thanks. ^_^

  • Food service reeks all around, no need to make it worse on those people by being assholes. I am in agreement.

  • @ Anti: I'm anti death penalty but you get no argument from me.Waitressing sucks as a job.I pays shit. And you get to spend 8 hours a day serving condicending assmonkeys. And I've never done the job.Everyone diserves some kind of respect on their job.Except politicians and pundits. Both sides of the isle.

  • Those people do that because they suffer from extreme social anxiety - so they are already in hell... they're still assholes though.

Reminds me of a joke which I'll tell in bite form. Hitler & Pol in hell tied to stakes standing in shit up to knees. They think "wow, this isn't so bad... standing in shit for eternity... we got off lightly" - 5 minutes later, guard walks in, bellows; "right lads, tea break over... back on their heads!"

  • If I'm in a restaurant and a waitress drops a plate, I always says, "Just put that anywhere!" :D

  • lol...WHAT?

  • I hate to admit it but I've done that. I've clapped when someone dropped a plate in a restaurant. I don't know why I did it. Probably for the approval of my peers. The question is would I do it now?

No, of course not, I've gotten some life experience behind my belt and realize what that can do to another person.

I'm all for the death-penalty but aren't you being a little god-like to have such a harsh punishment for mocking someone?

  • Perhaps a little god-like but at least not as god-like as torturing the clapper for eternity.

  • You think those people are assholes?

Check out how much of a douche I am.

From now on I'll do that for no other reason then to laugh in my head at you ;)

    I know I am disgusting :(

  • People do that? Man, people are dicks... I agree, kill 'em.

  • Sounds reasonable... I would also suggest the same (or similar) punishment for people who butt into long lines at stores. :-)

  • I used to be a waitress. I have smacked people with trays for that shit, and said a big Fuck you. I got in trouble for the "fuck you" though.

  • Let's just kill em all!

  • @Zaimoren its no Fun slowly torchering them to death IS fun

  • YES,Thank-you!

  • i will make sure to not clap.

  • used to piss me off when people did that back when I was waiter.

  • @tattooskin72 We do this in many cases, not just for waiters dropping plates, to lighten the mood in the face of what just occurred. You were taking it the wrong way. If I was a waiter, the clapping would make me laugh at what I just did. It's supposed to make you smile and realize "yeah, that was pretty gay.. lol" No, I haven't been a waiter but I've been other things where people do the exact same thing - clap - for the exact same reason. And I smiled - which is the goal of the clapping.

  • After being on my feet for 8 hours at cosmetology school, then spending an additional 5+ hours after school on my feet, waiting tables ... the whole time dealing with assholes... it's not so "LoL". I do understand that's the intention. We laugh at things like that all the time... but sometimes, it's just not so funny.

  • @tattooskin72 Fair enough. :-)

  • WTF?

  • Hahaha I was indocrinated into that during primary school. Assholes have influenced me.

  • Agree. My night job is a waitress and it pisses me off to no end when people do this. Especially when I tripped because they are letting their children run around like maniacs underfoot while I'm carrying around hot dishes. Usually, I try to aim for myself because god forbid I spill some of that hot dish on little Sally or Jim-bob, because then mommy is going to sue the restaurant and I might lose my job.

I know what you're thinking, how often can this happen? WAY TOO OFTEN.

  • A little mishap at the diner today AA?

  • It would still be worth it.

  • I have never heard that... a US thing?

  • I think it's gotta be. In Britain if that happened we'd all studiously ignore it.

  • Sweden: One plate dropped is ignored, 10 plates = some giggles and people ducking trying to stifle their reactions and talks quietly but somewhat bemused like "oh shit... that will take some time to pick up, damn it was the whole stack of 'em!"

  • In Greece they smash plates anyway when a meal is finished. Must cost 'em a fortune.

  • no they don't

  • Nope. I'm a Brit and see/hear it all the time.

Its mainly the great unwashed that do it. If you have never seen/heard it then you eat in a better class of eaterie. B-)

  • Really? Seriously never seen that, except amoung work collegues, which is a bit different.. Comes of a middle class upbringing, I suppose.

  • What have you got against Greek people lol?

  • @JustaEropeanGuy I thought about the same thing, LOL.

  • Having waited tables all through college, I can say that I whole heartedly agree with this PSA. I can think of a few assholes that deserve such a punishment.

  • I just cant imagine this kind of situation...

  • Am I allowed to clap this video?

  • I think this was the most random PSA of them all.

  • I agree....been a server and no shit that really pisses us off!!! Thank you for taking the itme to say what the rest of us feel...peace be with you wonderful fucker you!!

  • Can I give a video ten stars?

  • Yeah, ok Atheismo. And I bet you're a shitty tipper too! :P

  • As long as you're here, I notice your vid is still up despite Gary's oath to DMCA it.

    What drama brews?

  • He may have submitted a claim and it hasn't yet been processed. We should know for sure in the next couple of days I suppose.

  • Amen.

  • Your mic filtering stuff left it sounding a little weird...

Also, I would argue that it has allot to do with the circumstances, and how much booze someone has...

  • "Your mic filtering stuff left it sounding a little weird..."

    I know what you're saying.

I'm certainly not going to get a job as a sound technician anytime soon.

  • Did you use a program to filter?

If so, which one... personally I love to use audacity... which is free..

First you record the audio that you want to filter, then while trying to be as quiet as possible, record the noise... then select a sample of the noise, and use the get noise profile to select the selected sample as the noise profile (repetitive >.>)

Then select a low filter strength... the lower the better, since you don't want to remove intended noise...

  • I use Audacity too.

The problem is likely that I need a lower filter strength.

  • Yep... better to have a little fuzz... then your voice be fucked up... I actually have quite a loud fan... so the audio from my videos has actually been filtered quite a bit... but something else is... the sample length, most people use samples which are far to short... personally, I like to use a 30 second sample... squired after I leave the room... so there is no chance of me fucking it up :)

  • I concur with reasonguy 100%.. I select the lowest, otherwise sound gets metallic

  • erm, aaaaaaaalright....

    ....omg

  • LOL. I always wondered why that was as well. Working in the restaurant industry, I thought it was a way to defer the embarrassment and make the management forget the cost of replacements, LOL.

  • I will fuck my self.

  • I just fucked myself. Felt pretty good.
