@lazyman2612 Its easier and faster to produce hand cannoneers over janissaries. Unless you're doing absurdly well in a competitive game you'll never get enough castles to produce janissaries as fast as you would produce hand cannoneers from archery ranges. Of course if you have that many castles (4?) then it's favorable to make janissaries. :)

I saw some of your matches, nice game :D. Why I don't understand tough is why do you advance into ages so fast without an army ? I mean, common, I saw a video when you playing Spanish, minute 30 and almost no bloody army :P. That Aztec guy next to you came and almost killed you with a few soldiers and some siege equip. You should start building up your forces when you reach Feudal Age. It's better to be a little poor but with military support, than rich :D. Or maybe you give tribute to friends ?

@Ilumiknight Although you need to play around with the files a bit to get it to work with Windows 7 or Vista. The colors go crazy unless you shut down explorer.exe while you play. Sucks a bit, but it doesn't prevent me from enjoying the greatest game ever created.

@MrDouglasXD there is no rule on how many. you'll learn to 'feel' what's right. commonly people advance with pop 21-25 to feudal, then make 3-4 vills (can be less) to castle and research handchart --> boom up. one golden rule when booming: don't make more towncentres then what you can spare in food. It's a waste of resources to make 3 towncentres if their villager flow isn't 100% uptime. Also upgrade wood/wheelbarrow/handchart asap.

Hi could you help me, Ive just installed this on my windows 7 laptop but they only way i can get it to play without green and red dots all over the grass is to turn explorer.exe off in the task manager and im guessing i cant play online if i do that which is the main reason i bought this game again as i used to play it when i was younger. My favourite unit is the Teutonic Knights, they're slow as fuck but you can pump them out really quick and the rape when they're fully upgraded, I've only ever played against the computer though who are predictable and stupid.
