@mufgatar Wrestling is not just a style, it is the base of all efficient fighting. And I am not even a wrestler. I am a Muay Thai practitioner. (We play with TKD and Karate blackbelts.)
What is the point of the match here? You want to get him to the ground and tap him out, or just get him to the ground stand up again while he is holding ur foot and try to do it again?
Hard is tensing your muscles through the whole fight, gay is not beign able to punch properly and pretending you know real self defence (and by self defence, you think it's a roundhouse kick).
@TheEksta TKD is horrible. No conditioning, not enough hardening of the body, and they can't even throw a punch. I love it every time an arrogant TKD/Karate blackbelt comes to my muay thai gym, only to get his arse handed to him by someone training martial arts for less than a year. They usually don't come back.
If you want to take the fight to the ground you need to know how to wrestle. If you want to stay on your feet and stop the takedown, you need to know how to wrestle.
@MrKOknee i love people like this that keeps clinging to specific styles.! and then talks about styles being worse than others. clearly that is a sign of ignorance
I see a great potential in this kind of wrestling as a public sport. Very viewer friendly. No complicating rules, no counting scores. The man standing up is the winner and the one on the ground is the looser, basically. Simple and brilliant! Comparing it to modern styles of wrestling (free wrestling, greco-roman and sub-mission wrestling) the ground work is kept to a minimum. Most viewers, I believe, are quite bored with ground work, unless initiated. That goes for MMA aswell.
See now this is why i love the germanic peoples as a fighter I look at vikings for insperation because they get stronger under pressure and do not quit That I respect

@TheEksta
In an actual fight mostly all Taekwondo/Karate guys would be useless if a wrestler got a grab on them, therefore it is very limiting!
A wrestler with mediocre "striking" skills will beat the crap out of a "master striker" who can't wrestle at all!
RuninRuni 8 months ago
@RuninRuni But the wrestler HAS to get a grab on him, so, it's really how well both fighters are.
AlexLococo 7 months ago
@RuninRuni Assuming it was a 1 on 1 fight, you try to wrestle a guy while his buddy is kicking the crap out of you.

Lars is the real deal. I have trained and wrestled him. He can dish out the Viking smack down. All others play Viking. He truly is.
