I could listen to Wolf Eyes on the way to work. I freaking love Wolf Eyes. It's a wee bit soothing for some reason. There is something severely wrong with me.
I saw Wolf Eyes open for Sonic Youth and they were pure shit. There's about a million better noise artists/industrial bands that came before them and did it so much better.
I associate and receive the sounds of most NOISE with a very raw strength and power. Noise, at least for myself, is quite invigorating and pure. I know A LOT of people don't feel the same even you whom i consider very open to music but I stated my perspective due to the overwhelming absence of the understanding of why someone would listen to or even enjoy sounds such as these.
The only thing that could make it better would be to hear it at night in a forest with 100 foot speakers
I like that. It is sick, twisted, disturbing music. It's frenzied turmoil, and I enjoy it, just as I love the extremely structured sound of classical music.
I love noise music, I think when a person is in the right mindset it can be amazing, but not all noise music is avant-garde. I just wanted to say that.

You should check out Pedestrian Deposit album Fatale. It's a noise with piano on it and much much more "experimental" stuff . I hope you will like it. My favorite from this album is a song called "You can't help me".
You need to listen to some of Prurient's stuff. It's more menacing than Wolf Eyes in many ways. If you want I have a video of his in my profile, you can check it out.
I'm not a big wolf eyes fan, but I would know better than giving a score to something I hardly know anything about... the distance between w.e. anb merzbow is huge... your claiming that both are on the same league makes me think you haven't actually listened to much of either... or any noise at all for that matter... "the mind of a serial killer"... yeah, right...
i wrote a five billion page comment for this and it didn't go through. in the comment i tell you that your videos don't show up in my subs box and it's fucking ridiculous because if i want to see a new video from you i have to check your page. so stupid. anyway, i don't get this hehe.
I'm not a big noise fan, although I do have quite a few noise albums. I know it's supposed to be jarring and cause dissonance, but I've sat through some records and nothing really blew me away. I prefer noise just to be an element in music. This Wolf Eyes wasn't even as dark or harsh as some of the other songs I've heard. I do appreciate how experimental it is though. Noise is the porn of music ? I thought Lady Gaga was that. Noise is the shock therapy. Maybe it's to clean your mental pallet.
'Mental pallet" You know the one that gets clogged up with Lady Gaga's and what ever undesired sounds might be staining your mental scenery. Noise is pretty good a shaking it up and allowing to listen to things again with new ears. Maybe ?
Decreto K is another noise music band that has a similar feeling that they give out like how you describe Wolf Eyes. It's quite disturbing and I can bear to listen to it just wanting for the silence to come. It makes me appreciate alot the silence that surrounds us. But thats its point. I actually have his "Dove ha termine il respiro" album, which is strictly limited.

Wow, their sound has gotten a lot more focused since I last spun "Burned Mind", which had the textures but none of nuanced compositions.

I remember hearing Burned Mind for the first time... disturbing noise. Very difficult to listen to all the way through.
