Great video. There are a couple of issues regarding women that might make them more emotional. Woemn have a greater variety of hormones running around in their brain than men. Secondly, they have a greater quantity of hormones. That does not totally excuse women in terms of their relationship with their emotions as stated by Paul. In addition, some men, knowingly or not, enable and even encourage these feelings in women. There is a psychology behind this that I don't have room to discuss.

However some women did become giants of these- Mary Shelly for example. When I was a boy, what made me grow up was that I was allowed to disappear for the day and do what I liked. I built things, explored, succeeded or got hurt, and had good and bad experiences with other people; I found out what I was capable of alone. However, there's nothing good about a grown adult insulting and shaming a boy. Parents like this lack the ability to reason logically, or negotiate, hence they just threaten. Studies of kids show that verbal and physical attacks cause brain damage.
It really is a tragedy that boys are raised not to cry. Women cry all the time - at stupid things that really don't warrant it. But when men cry, it is over something serious and you can take them more seriously because of that. And it is beautiful.

@Kenshiroit I feel like in our society, the fact that clothes and other various items are classified both masculine AND gender neutral just contributes to men being seen as the norm. I mean think about it, we refer to a group of mixed gendered people as "guys" (but never "ladies"), men are not permitted to wear dresses and skirts (because god forbid they look like women), and we use words like "mankind", "man-made", "manning" vehicles, etc. De-stigmatizing femininity, we can free men to feel.

Try to work in a coal mine in minishirt ;-) But what I find disturbing, is the male gender identity is devaluated in gender neutral, that means women are the only one who are allowed to keep a particular gender identity. To us this is not allowed! See you are lucky, you can chose to keep your feminity or also take masculine clothes. We can only use one kind, and it isnt even masculine anymore. :-/

Just this last week a young man hung himself near my house. He was only a couple years older than me.
No doubt his family, in hindsight, has been able to now see how he asked for help, in his own way, so blatantly. When men are exposed to their softer side and left with no way to express it they become angry and hostile.

Great video. There are a couple of issues regarding women that might make them more emotional. Woemn have a greater variety of hormones running around in their brain than men. Secondly, they have a greater quantity of hormones. That does not totally excuse women in terms of their relationship with their emotions as stated by Paul. In addition, some men, knowingly or not, enable and even encourage these feelings in women. There is a psychology behind this that I don't have room to discuss.

Women on college campuses were asked what they preferred in a man. All of them preferred their men to be domineering and assertive.

Look, for example, at what is considered "gender neutral" clothing; it's just masculine clothing. @Kenshiroit I feel like in our society, the fact that clothes and other various items are classified both masculine AND gender neutral just contributes to men being seen as the norm. I mean think about it, we refer to a group of mixed gendered people as "guys" (but never "ladies"), men are not permitted to wear dresses and skirts (because god forbid they look like women), and we use words like "mankind", "man-made", "manning" vehicles, etc. De-stigmatizing femininity, we can free men to feel.

Try to work in a coal mine in minishirt ;-) But what I find disturbing, is the male gender identity is devaluated in gender neutral, that means women are the only one who are allowed to keep a particular gender identity. Just this last week a young man hung himself near my house. He was only a couple years older than me.
No doubt his family, in hindsight, has been able to now see how he asked for help, in his own way, so blatantly. When men are exposed to their softer side and left with no way to express it they become angry and hostile.

Men are actually less likely to be able to control their emotions than women. Thats why they are more prone to violence. Many more men kill their wives for leaving them, many more men rape, beat the shit out of eachother, many more men stalk and kill people than do women, thats just a fact. and if you think that has nothing to do with emotions, then you're sadly mistaken. people say women are too emotional, i beg to differ. But, I do love men, and i do agree with alot of what youre saying.

Men are more SUCCESSFUL with violence, and more extreme, but then they are both biologically programmed to provide violence when needed and socialized to make violence an attractive asset for women. Why do you think Joran van der Sloot had women crawling all over him, and why are they even now sending him marriage proposals? They did the same thing with Scott Peterson. Women love violent thugs. But still, you are correct to point out that much of male violence has an emotional component. But just the same, 99.82% of men were not arrested for violent behavior. And there is something else at play here, too. Much of men's violence is also accomplished by controlling emotions, e.g. they have to overcome fear to engage in it. Not near all male violence is men losing control. Most of it is intentional and calculated. CONT.

I've been saying for over 10 years that boys are like girls before puberty, once they hit puberty, men actually MATURE in their control of their emotions where as women never do and still cry at the same things as they did when they were a girl, still play with dolls, use their feelings to manipulate men or get what they want. Dear Dr. Paul I really liked this and I agree 99% with you..women's feelings are being overvalued and they are often used to control another person (much like how our parents controlled us when we were children usually for good reasons) using Guilt, shame, & jealousy.
However as the saying goes "People will forget what you said and what you did. But they will never forget how you made them feel." women aside, would any person risk offending the sensitivity of his superior? his boss? his mentor?
