Me and my best friend got into Naruto again somewhere around last October, we started drawing characters of our own and from manga around january, (We really sucked back then) We've gotten a lot better but not good enough to satisfy ourselves. We decided to try and draw characters that looked like they're manga drawings by this time next year, And your drawing tutorials, I believe will get us to accomplish that goal, THANK YOU!!!!! ^^

i dont think i have any good advice. But i guess i always state that it's important with:

1. Theoretical training

2. Practice

3. Equipment

Study anatomy and manga styles, develope your own :D

Practice drawing originals AND copy draw (never trace, but use references)

Try to avoid using H pencils. Stick with HB, B, 2B and 4B (and so on) Softer pencils give off better colour for drawing

To Your PS-

HB's are good pencils for beginners, (or newbies.. XP). ...Rubber? IDK what your talking about, but if it's an eraser get a KNEAD eraser, cheap and it works good. If your just doodling.. You can use regular printer paper! But if it's on a project, (Manga, cartoon, ect.) Then a good choice would be deleter from japan, or

StrathMore. (That you can get from a regular craftstore).

You are very right!! I should!!! Well.. i actually figured that you wanted to decide that for yourself! ;) The trick is to decide how wide characters should be by adjusting the shoulders... The broader shoulders, the more "muscular" he becomes! But.. as you broaden the character, he might end up looking (short and big) instead of muscular. I usually try to make the distance from the end of one shoulder to the end of the other shoulder the same as 3 heads next to eachother ;)
