Very little of the great cruelty shown by men can really be attributed to cruel instinct. Most of it comes from thoughtlessness or inherited habit. The roots of cruelty, therefore, are not so much strong as widespread. But the time must come when inhumanity protected by custom and thoughtlessness will succumb before humanity championed by thought. Let us work that this time may come. ~Albert Schweitzer
All I can say is WOW - My New Year's resolutions now includes the goal of sponsoring one dog each month -
Just think what the impact will be at the end of the year if we each found a way to join in the effortl How often can we say that we helped save a life?

Dogs don't ask to be born - we domesticated them to the point that they are totally and completely dependent upon us for their survival. The least we can do is TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for them. Stop over breeding...rescue instead of buying our pets...and support rescues and shelters with our time and money.
To the world, you may be just one person, to your dog, you are the world.
i will say a prayer a million ways that there will soon be no more strays that every homeless, lonely soul will find a home and soon be whole that all the humans who really need a friend will love their companion animals until the end love and light from day to night karen lyons kalmenson
Awesome! I've been following the Dog Liberator for weeks, in the hopes that I can adopt one of these beautiful animals soon! It's an incredible thing that the Dog Liberator team does daily....God Bless them!
Tears are falling. I rescued a little dog from a really bad place last November. He's the light of my life. I'm going to try to do more this year to help homeless dogs and cats. Thank you for this video. It's beautiful.
I sit here, with tears running down my cheeks, and surrounded by nine rescue dogs. And, yes, there's an 18-year-old rescue cat here, too--and I lost my 20-year-old rescue kitty a couple of months ago.
I'm active in rescue for five different breeds...
NEVER buy a dog at a pet store! Get in touch with your local shelter, PetFinder, a reputable breeder, or a breed club and RESCUE a dog! You will never be sorry!
Thank you so much for sending this important message so beautifully.
I posted to fb. I too am in animal rescue and it has been the most rewarding life changing thing I've ever done for myself. It is a wonderful feeling to know one person can make a huge difference and when you are part of an amazing organization the sky is the limit. I am a member of 11th Hour Rescue in NJ. Last year alone we rescued between 800-1000 dogs and now cats too. The best thing is I am on the receiving end too..animal rescue has rescued me!! :)
Of course cats deserve rescue, as do all the abandoned animals ~ rabbits, llamas, birds, etc. The world of rescue crosses the species line. The message of this video is for people to get involved. But the video was created by The DOG Liberator ~ it makes sense that their focus is on dogs.
lovely video. And a great message - so many people don't get involved in rescue because they see how all-consuming it can become, but if they could just help one, it makes such a difference.
What a touching video. I commend you for the effort you put into sharing the plight of these animals and the ease at which things could be changed if we all just did our part. If everyone would just help one animal this year what a difference there would be in the world of furbabies the world over. I volunteer at 2 local shelters. Fostered for the first time this year and adopted 2 pibbles. They are more reward than I ever could have guessed before bringing them into my life. Rescue dogs rock!

This is so touching. I have been in rescue for a few years and it is a heartwrenching and heartwarming experience. This video brought tears to my eyes.
What a beautiful message to send all of my friends in rescue. Thank you, Giselle, you guys made a difference for our Nellie, by pulling her from a high kill shelter in mobile and putting forth the effort to work with her and find her the most beautiful home. thank you again.
Beautiful and poignant video. I urge everyone to spread the word of rescue, adoption and the need for support for all rescue groups and shelters. Getting involved is a life-changing endeavor, it's been one of the best things to happen to my life and has made it richer and more complete. Please consider helping any way you can to save the weakest and the neediest among us who want nothing more than to love us.
Tears for the ones left behind, but joy and thankfulness to the rescuers, fosters, transporters and contributors to each "ONE" saved from current animal control system - extermination camps for animals.
DOGS ARE THE BEST, MOST LOYAL, MOST FORGIVING FRENDS YOU WILL EVER HAVE IN YOUR LIFE.....DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND "TREAT" YOURSELF TO THIS MOST UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!
Thanks for pushing my family and I to take action...Volunteer/rescue work is something we have long considered and this touching nudge has really encouraged us to move forward. Best of luck and thanks so much. NK
This is one of the most beautiful touching rescue videos I have ever seen. AAnd the fact you helped save all those dogs is wonderful. I volunteer with a few dog rescue, I have fostered, adopted had to adopt dogs, that are doing great in our home,, do transports all the time, homes visits, make donations of money and supplies, and share tons and tons of dogs on facebook. Also help to network to help some too. I LOVE helping to rescue and help dogs. It is an addiction to me. I love it.
This is beautiful and heartbreaking. Please help animals in the coming year. St. Francis was such an amazing Christian. He wanted people to know God cares about all of His creation - humans, animals, and plants.
Don't breed or buy when dogs in shelters die. Fostering is an amazing experience. And if you think you can't give the dog up if you foster...think again. It may be that but for you the dog would die and so because you feel you could not give the dog up, you will condemn a dog to death?
Amazing video. Heart wrenching. I will continue to do whatever I can to help these babies. Although I have volunteered multiple times to work at our local shelter but they apparently do not need help. Great job!!
Make that 3,164 Aussies on Petfinder and please look at MINI AUSSIE PINER just posted on the Mini Aussie Rescue & Support facebook page or its combined East Coast Petfinder page. Sigh ... there is always one more in the wings...........
It is so heartwarming, not only to see this video, but to read the comments of so many people who have touched the lives of homeless, abandoned pets. Effective rescue is only accomplished through the efforts of a network of people. The possibility of ending the need for rescue can also be accomplished through such a network, by educating and changing the perception of the need for spay/neuter. The time is now! Let's make a differerence!

Fantastic video! After adopting 2 rescues (Derby and Pepper) from the Dog Liberator this year, I am so thankful for and appreciative of the work you do. I, too, hope one day there won't be a need for your organization. Until then, please know how much your efforts mean to these poor pups in need and all the adopters who bring a new furry friend into their homes. All the best in 2011!
I adopted a rescue recently and I can honestly vouch for the TLC these poor abandoned souls receive from the moment they are in TheDogLiberator's hands! The are shown love, taught respect and given a new chance! Thank you to EVERYONE associated with TDL, you truly are angels!!!
What a great way to start the New Year with a resolution we can all keep.....HELP SAVE JUST ONE LIFE and make a difference <3 great video....your best ever!
Stunningly beautiful video and a very worthy message to share. It's a reminder for some of us and a strengthened commitment for others in this new year. There are so many needing our help... and we CAN do it!
“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. What I can do, I should do. And what I should do, by the grace of God, I will do.” - Edward Everett Hale
If we can elevate this video in youtube ratings, it will get maximum exposure and spread the message. The way you can help do this is to view the video, and then "Like" AND "comment". And then, of course, share with others. Please help by doing ALL three of these things. We CAN make a difference!
Share, Share, Share....vow to make a positive change for the animals in 2011!!!! They are only voiceless...without us! Don't fail them by looking away!
"No one makes a greater mistake than he who does nothing because he can only do little" ~ Edmund Burke
“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated” ~Mahatma Gandhi
Understanding words of someone with a huge insight & heart.....thank you Holly....
The message of the video is worth sharing far and wide. There is much work to be done, too much for just one person, one organization. But if many people do just something, no matter how small, it will add up and we CAN make a difference. Volunteer, adopt, spay/neuter. I am a volunteer who can never get enough done....my heart breaks....then I smile at small miracles.....

Amazing video. Heart wrenching. I will continue to do whatever I can to help these babies. Although I have volunteered multiple times to work at our local shelter but they apparently do not need help. Great job!!

Stunningly beautiful video and a very worthy message to share. It's a reminder for some of us and a strengthened commitment for others in this new year. There are so many needing our help... and we CAN do it!

If we can elevate this video in youtube ratings, it will get maximum exposure and spread the message. The way you can help do this is to view the video, and then "Like" AND "comment". And then, of course, share with others. Please help by doing ALL three of these things. We CAN make a difference!

@reckless1962
So, did all three. Thanks for the heads-up and reminder.

Great video... really makes me want to help. If one wanted to help by volunteering with The Dog Liberator, how would they go about that??

thank you for your comments! I'm very proud that 99% of the dogs in this video are the ones I personally rescued, and that our team transported, fostered and yes, adopted to wonderful homes! Gisele, (aka Reckless1962) Founder, The Dog Liberator
