Is it possible to join each branch after your done serving in one of them like 4 years in marines then 4 in the navy then 4 in air force and finally 4 in the army? If so i think i will do that, that way no fucker can say i didn't serve

32 for the Marines. And you have to secure your MOS, you don't just get in right off the bat, have to pass screenings, ect.
And as far as I know, Marines didn't fight at the Battle of Mogadishu (Black Hawk Down), it was Delta Force, 160th special aviation unit, Navy Seals, Army Rangers, (That's right, army, we all brothers now), and an assortment of UN troops, no marines.

You need atleast a 31 on your ASVAB to get in, sometimes you can get in with lower, and atleast a 51 if you want all the bonuses. And the operation wasn't called Black Hawk Down, so no, I highly doubt your father was there.

Acutally for all you regular Army morons who think NG is notthing. NG deploys more often,to more place, and longer tours than the active army does. And it only takes us once a month o get our shit right whereas it takes the active army a whole month and they are still jacked up. Do your homework before you run your mouth active army losers.
@link116100 Alright I dont dislike the guard. But to think NG deploys more than regular army or are even half as effective is stupid. They have a less than 17% deployment rate and avrage deployment of 9 months. While army has well over 30 with a 12.5 month avrage.
PS We also say that the guard is "the marine retirement program." We get all lot of marines and it's an easy transition for them. They give the oath, put on the uniform and they get to work.BTW here's your bonus.

Heavily considering the military at this point, but I'm unsure as to what type of combat to expect nowadays. Is the National Guard specialized in groundpounding similar to the Army ground forces? I also heard that Airmen in the Airforce are being trained for ground strike units as well. Trying to figure out which branch to join if all forces seem to be doing very similar things.

@Ballzdeep1987 actually, Marines deploy more at the rate of 40.7%, second army at 36.6%, then navy at 35.8% then airforce at 27.4%. Then ANG 20.2%. then NG 16.6%..... So no they do not deploy the most. Nor do they have the Most deployed (Army does)...however the NG does ALOT. State an federal levels. however in the end, they are still weekend warriors compared to Regular army.

@MandARandomness all training and schools is certified by the US Army, it's dual enlistment, you are part of the NG and the US Army, same basic training same AIT. Even the officer AOCs are the same.

Acutally for all you regular Army morons who think NG is notthing. NG deploys more often,to more place, and longer tours than the active army does. And it only takes us once a month o get our shit right whereas it takes the active army a whole month and they are still jacked up. Do your homework before you run your mouth active army losers.

@link116100 Alright I dont dislike the guard. But to think NG deploys more than regular army or are even half as effective is stupid. They have a less than 17% deployment rate and avrage deployment of 9 months. While army has well over 30 with a 12.5 month avrage.

PS We also say that the guard is "the marine retirement program." We get all lot of marines and it's an easy transition for them. They give the oath, put on the uniform and they get to work.BTW here's your bonus.

Heavily considering the military at this point, but I'm unsure as to what type of combat to expect nowadays. Is the National Guard specialized in groundpounding similar to the Army ground forces? I also heard that Airmen in the Airforce are being trained for ground strike units as well. Trying to figure out which branch to join if all forces seem to be doing very similar things.

@Ballzdeep1987 actually, Marines deploy more at the rate of 40.7%, second army at 36.6%, then navy at 35.8% then airforce at 27.4%. Then ANG 20.2%. then NG 16.6%..... So no they do not deploy the most. Nor do they have the Most deployed (Army does)...however the NG does ALOT. State an federal levels. however in the end, they are still weekend warriors compared to Regular army.
