Ok... use torque cones at the head. you wont lose all your back pressure with 2' pipes. Where is the problem here? Nice bike man. But are you selling those bars in Drag Specialties catalog. If not you better get ahold of them! Someone must have stole your idea! Wow!
unless he has had better luck than I have can't find the torque cones from an after market supplier for an ironhead. I've looked, so if anyone has any info on them, it would be appriciated. Or , I'll use his idea............................rightous ride man !
Ok.. Here is the part# 1861-0400 You can order them from Drag Specialties. Out of the Fat Book. The torque cones are made by LAC "Las Angeles Choppers" They fit 1 3/4" - 2" Pipes. Look on page 323 of the Fat Book. Samson also makes a set. But they are for 1 3/4". Hope this helps. :)
Way to go, you made the bars yourself.cool. I just rebuilt my Ironhead. I love a bike that a guy envisions and builds himself. To me all the shiny Factory machines all look alike. Your bike's got personality. Great look and sound
because you lose all your back pressure with 2' pipes or any straight through pipe design. I have an '81 larger valves, r5 andrews cams and 10.5 to 1 comp forged wiseco pistons. I get nearly 8 more horse on the dyno with a 2into1 but ride the 2'drags myself because you just cant beat the sound ! So I rev the F out of it when I take off, .....................Nice bike man , sounds and looks great.
Your exactly right. but I love the way 2" pipes sound.
A few months ago I put some 1-3/4" rings on the end-no difference...made some for right behind the heads and it made a huge difference. I took my old 1-3/4 pipes, cut off a section and spot welded it into the section of the 2" pipes by the head.....
I have an Ironhead, where did you get those bars man. Killer
how bout the 2" pipes., How much $ and where did ya get them. You know I get so much out of a bike like this than any of those 50,000 $ silly bolt on choppers. It looks like its yours, you did it, there is something personal about it.
yea why would they not be a good choice looks good sounds awsome I got an 83 xls roadster with slip ons going to change out too drags put some more vids going down the road
