I like Rick's version more than The Pentagons original. I bought the record (The Very Thought Of you) when it was released, and was happily surprised when I heard the flip. I might have played this side more than the "A" side. I still have the original picture sleeve too.

When I was a kid, I used to go to the local drug store and they would sell a plain white box that had 10 45's in it for a buck. I bought one and it had this single in it.
I also got my copy of this 45 for ten cents. A shop was selling used jukebox records for a dime each and I bought this one and "Ask Me" by Elvis. Thanks for your comment!
Thanks for your comment. Eventually, I used to look into the boxes of pre-packaged 45's and select certain ones and make my own packaged ones. I know that's questionable dishonesty but, they didn't seem to care.
One person's treasure is the next person's throwaway so it probably didn't matter that you cherry picked. I also used to buy 10-packs of unplayed 45s but they were shrink wrapped and I had no control over what I was getting. Amazingly, some of the rarest and best records in my collection were found hiding inside those budget packs.
I remember this Ricky Nelson song from my younger days... I had forgotten how good it was till now... Thanks for posting it! I enjoyed it... FrAnK (★★★★★)

The flip side to this 45 was "The Very Thought Of You". It was still equally a very impressive single. I miss him; Ricky Nelson.

Thanks for the comment! There are many forgotten flipsides that I like just as much or more than the A side, and this is one of them.
