i cant seem to speed it up 512 times on movie maker, only 64 times help

Without the dye it'll just stay its original color. They're still neat though!

Buy a magic crystal tree, follow the directions on the box, add a drop a food dye half way through and you're done! Though there are ways to make less 'official' ones with salt solutions and other similar stuff.

Sorry it took so long to respond, your comment was marked as spam for some reason. The liquid I added to turn it blue was just a few drops of simple food coloring. Nothing fancy!
