I wondered what was this synth, I searched, it's a Novation Xiosynth, with a kind of joystick, sounds very fun !

I used VSTis in former years, but today I would not spend again a cent on a virtual instrument, that depends on a specific computer platform (like PC or Mac), a specific operation system (like Windows/MacOS) and a specific interface (like ASIO) - and is closed source as well!

Anyhow this video is great. 6:40 is so funny!

I'd only be interested to make these sorts of sounds on a true analog modular....not some simulated digital shit. No inspiration at all. Real proper analog....is alot more fun to mess around on.....it just sounds a heck of alot better.

the worst is... that on these type you can't change the sound as itself...you can just bend it soo when for example some instrument has an reverb in it you can't leave it out of it... and the worst...not all instruments are able to modulate more than one key...if you push another one at once...the first one will mute WITHOUT FADE OUT...well some of the instruments are just perfect...but a lot of them just for fun...

I guess, most people want to play the instruments, not spending their time on knob fiddling and programming.

Lastly, 99% of the people that will hear these sounds on the radio will not care if the source was analog or digital.

Then you are probably not the target audience. True analogue modular is expensive too. That vintage gear is way overpriced IMHO. Some of those old synths were absolute pigs to use, especially live, too. I'm happy these days using something emulated, as it sounds almost identical, but actually has some features that many of the originals never did -- like polyphony!
