It's a beautiful bike. In all honesty though, if I'd had it as a first bike I'd probably be dead by now. Started out on an '06 ZX-6R, which I modded to buggery then sold after 8 months.

If you are looking for good gas mileage, look at a 600cc commuter bike.

I get 35mpg with my '07 Factory after Akrapovic slip-ons, race air-box kit & hi-flo air filter, Factory race map 2, 520 conversion kit, PCIII & dyno tuning.

Don't look to get 35 @ the track though!!!

You buy one of these to take to the track a few times a year & to take on VERY spirited rides through the twisties, not to be concerned about your gas mileage.

My first maintenance service cost me $189US.

Hej, Funderar pa att kopa min forsta Italienska motorcykel (kor for narvarande en 2003 R1:a) Valjer mellan Ducati och Aprilia. Ducatin ar nagot dyrare sa da far det bli en aldre 996 eller 999. Om det blir en Aprilia sa blir det en RSV R Factory. Har Du kort bade Aprilia och Ducati och kan jamfora ? Hur ar palitligheten ? Jag har hort att Italienska motorcyklar blir valdigt varma, kommentar ? Skulle vara intressant att hora din asikt.

Depends on wich country, i guess! In Sweden, wherei live, i pay 30 000kr, that´s about $4300. I´m 23 years old btw!

£1500 but for that you get ohlins rear shock, lighter forged wheels, and carbon fibre trim. ive gone for the standard 08 rsvr because they have brought out a new "bianco white" colour wich looks mint.

and you still get ohlins front forks
