As far as video's being used by our reps.... while they say they want to hear from us, they certainly don't want to have to 'look us in the eye' as it were. They will never bother watching our videos anymore then they bother personally replying to our emails. They do was they please and manipulate the communications we send them to make it look like they are responding to our input. I see youtube as the better version of blogging. When you blog online you just type and post pictures. But when people watch the person directly it's a whole new experience. So Youtube might be the best way to make a statement or make a message.

Interesting view on youtube. I've seen quite a few discussions on a (dutch) tech site, where some though that video sites like youtube and dailymotion would go down by copyright scandals. This video shows otherwise. To all those people down there: if you hate youtube so much, why use it?

YouTube is, in the most basic form, a communication tool, is it not? Now in today's world we're witness to what seems to be an era of dumbing down and lowest common denominator media, and YouTube can either channel that, or help destroy it. I'm hoping that the stupid factor in today's world will eventually reach a critical mass which will implode upon itself leaving those with something real to say or do the rightful place in the media, and such communication mediums like YouTube.

No dice. Computers have already made handwriting obselete to the point that most people can't spell simple words and use basic grammar properly. A video can never be as entertaining or enlightening as a well written piece of prose because it can only be enterpreted in one way. I'd like to see an open forum for prose and fiction etc. in the same capacity as youtube. Because you tube is awesome, but if the future you describe is coming, I don't want to see it.

what makes people think it's the internet that makes people bad at spelling and grammar? Maybe it just reveals that many people are bad at it. Plus, it's not true that a video can only be interpreted one way. There are tons of artsy videos on this site that are subject to interpretation. Not to mention this very video, which is sparking varied and diverse responses from people. Prose and fiction etc. are awesome but that doesn't discredit what he's saying.

The future of youtube will just be more popular with some new gadgets on the site and more material. It will bring goals to many people. The reason why I choose to upload videos to youtube is that I want to show things to people, just at random, and be able to entertain people to want to see them (although I always get lower views than you guys do)

For us, we want to show something, maybe we want to give users something to think about like what you said, or maybe just to entertain. Others may want to teach, inform, or advertise what they want to present, or do something that is really cool, but breaks copyright.

As far as video's being used by our reps.... while they say they want to hear from us, they certainly don't want to have to 'look us in the eye' as it were. They will never bother watching our videos anymore then they bother personally replying to our emails. They do was they please and manipulate the communications we send them to make it look like they are responding to our input. Video is the last thing they are interested in precisely because it is more personal in nature.

Great point. Videos are better than letters/emails to get a point across.
I see youtube as the better version of blogging. When you blog online you just type and post pictures. But when people watch the person directly it's a whole new experience. So Youtube might be the best way to make a statement or make a message.
Youtube will bring the people of the world closer I think.
