As far as video's being used by our reps.... while they say they want to hear from us, they certainly don't want to have to 'look us in the eye' as it were. They will never bother watching our videos anymore then they bother personally replying to our emails. They do was they please and manipulate the communications we send them to make it look like they are responding to our input. Well, I couldn't exactly understand what you were saying all that much cuz you kept on bringing up things out of nowhere like frisbee and the renisanse. But, in my opinion, I think that youtube should just remain as a fun web site to go to when you wanna watch some comedy or music videos, and nothing more. It's basically free TV made by people like you and me. It's not gonna change the world since I'm sure no one would ever make a video on a huge crisis or anything.
Its a place to post videos. It helps some show off editing or video making skills, music skills, etc - its an evolution of the internet. It also helps people show how they are complete idiots and need to be restricted from any further computer usage.

No dice. Computers have already made handwriting obselete to the point that most people can't spell simple words and use basic grammar properly. A video can never be as entertaining or enlightening as a well written piece of prose because it can only be enterpreted in one way. I'd like to see an open forum for prose and fiction etc. in the same capacity as youtube. Because you tube is awesome, but if the future you describe is coming, I don't want to see it.

what makes people think it's the internet that makes people bad at spelling and grammar? Maybe it just reveals that many people are bad at it. Plus, it's not true that a video can only be interpreted one way. There are tons of artsy videos on this site that are subject to interpretation. Not to mention this very video, which is sparking varied and diverse responses from people. Prose and fiction etc. are awesome but that doesn't discredit what he's saying.

The future of youtube will just be more popular with some new gadgets on the site and more material. It will bring goals to many people. The reason why I choose to upload videos to youtube is that I want to show things to people, just at random, and be able to entertain people to want to see them (although I always get lower views than you guys do)

Let's put it this way. Youtube can be used for many features. We can just watch whatever we want. For us, we want to show something, maybe we want to give users something to think about like what you said, or maybe just to entertain. Others may want to teach, inform, or advertise what they want to present, or do something that is really cool, but breaks copyright.

As far as video's being used by our reps.... while they say they want to hear from us, they certainly don't want to have to 'look us in the eye' as it were. They will never bother watching our videos anymore then they bother personally replying to our emails. They do was they please and manipulate the communications we send them to make it look like they are responding to our input. Video is the last thing they are interested in precisely because it is more personal in nature.

Great point. Videos are better than letters/emails to get a point across.
I see youtube as the better version of blogging. When you blog online you just type and post pictures. But when people watch the person directly it's a whole new experience. So Youtube might be the best way to make a statement or make a message.
Youtube will bring the people of the world closer I think.

Not a bad video, or "Retarded" as a few people have said. I don't do much posting on Youtube in the way of videos, but I watch youtube videos people make quite frequently. He makes some good points but I don't think youtube will really be looked at for much political stuff.

Some youtube videos get you thinking though, and others are just funny. Today for example, I watched a video for "My Humps" made from cradle of filth video clips that make it look like dani is singing it. funny stuff. and theres a sitcom on youtube I just found. "We need girlfriends". If they had more funding, it would make a good tv show on actual tv(Full length episodes). Hell, I'd watch it.

I admire your intellect as well as your willingness to share your thoughts here on YouTube. I'm rather new to this site and get into daily (yeah, I'm hooked). But I agree with you; for us to limit the use of YouTube to only that of entertainment purposes is to limit ourselves on so many different levels.

Well, I couldn't exactly understand what you were saying all that much cuz you kept on bringing up things out of nowhere like frisbee and the renisanse. But, in my opinion, I think that youtube should just remain as a fun web site to go to when you wanna watch some comedy or music videos, and nothing more. It's basically free TV made by people like you and me. It's not gonna change the world since I'm sure no one would ever make a video on a huge crisis or anything.

Its a place to post videos. It helps some show off editing or video making skills, music skills, etc - its an evolution of the internet. It also helps people show how they are complete idiots and need to be restricted from any further computer usage.
It will not however change the world. Someone posting a stupid video or a great version of "Cavatina" will not end world hunger or rid us of pointless videos.
